Howling Wolves Talks of New Album and Show Playing!

Hardcore punks HOWLING WOLVES has been active for sometime now, releasing demo's, an album, and a recent album titled 'As Above So Below", with some current idea's for new material in the works! They just want to get word of the recent album and play some shows! The band talks of these matters below.

1.Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

After disbanding our previous bands, coming from genres like: hardcorepunk, thrash, modern hardcore and skate punk etc. we felt like to give our music a harder more rocking touch. It felt like a normal progress as we are all listening to different stuff over the years. Its lame to just repeat the same story. After forming in 2014 and recording a demo, releasing a album in 2018 playing shows we are now here with our newest record “As Above So Below”.

HOWLING WOLVES are:

Felix Weckowski – vocals

Gregor Nick – guitar

Hannes Pfeifer – bass

Riccardo Zander – drums

Markus Rentsch - guitar

2.What’s the origin of the band’s name?

After having terrible choices of bandnames in the past we just wanted to have a simple catchy bandname. Just two words. Wolves are walking around doing their shit, no one fucks around with them, they rule their territory and when there is danger or misunderstanding who rules the land: they howl hahaha. Thats our sound,  Howling Wolves. Its also sounding like Rock, and has a notch to the great Blues legend: the howlin' wolf.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are from Berlin city in Germany. You don't have a big scene but a lot of diverse small scenes here. There is shitloads of venues and bands and shows happening all the time. You get to know a lot of people who are also in bands and/or doing shows. It is easy to network and help each other out.

Our buddies PIECE are great. They just recorded an new album. And we share the room with PRAISE THE PLAGUE black metal. And there is this great band REDSCALE plus tons of bands.

4.How would you describe your style?

Its a blend of HardcorePunk with some heavy rock riffing plus some metal and stoner vibes. On the new record we also have our grunge moments. We label it SabbathPunk or StonerPunk but that never exactly gets the whole thing.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have a demo (2014), a 7 track album (2018) and our newest album 'As Above So Below' . you can expect some great riffs, heavy drums and some catchy asskicking songs!

6.Do you have any new music in the works?

We started some new songs and have ideas flying around here and there, but we also spend the last months to get our new second guitarist worked in. plus each one has a lot of stuff to do in the real world. We don't rush it. There will be some new music in some years haha.. for now we are proud to share our new album.

7.How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We love playing shows and would love to hop on a tour soon. We start planning for some fall/winter action. Some weeks ago we played two release shows in Leipzig and Berlin, which was fun.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

For now we just wanna push the record as we waited for long time to get it out. Same as always: jamming and playing shows

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Its easy to find everywhere: you can stream it on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube etc.

The new album is available on vinyl online at our bandcamp or on the website of Karma Conspiracy Records.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

How awesome it is haha. We are happy anyone is listening and checking us out. When you hear it some vocals lines will stick with you and you feel the riffs treating you well.
