April 2016

I Am Ghost's frontman vocalist Steven Juliano has given a reason as to returning to music, after announcing not that long ago of retiring from music, via his social media profile;

"MY REPLY ON RETURNING TO I AM GHOST: Ok, so lot's and lot's of you have been commenting "But STEVE, you retired!!!" and I get it. I did retire from music. I was done with it. Absolutely. The I Am Ghost members all know: Ronnie, Chad, Gabe, Timmy, Justin, Ryan... we have all tried for YEARS now to get this show going. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was incredibly busy with their other projects. Most of these gents were touring across the world in their other bands so we could never figure out a date for this show to work. Either I was in town that month and two others were in Europe or doing Warped Tour, or I was on tour with Requiem and they were home. It just never seemed to work. And suddenly it finally all just clicked. We were actually all available and some had left their other projects. So, with that said, I couldn't let this opportunity go. These guys are like my brothers, and I would love nothing more than to ROCK these I Am Ghost songs like it was 2008 all over again. Thanks for everyone caring or not. Steven Juliano has spoken... RAWWWWRRR!!!!"

What will the official line-up of the reunited I Am Ghost, be come their reunion comeback showcase this October 22nd 2016? It will be as follows;

KROQ-FM Los Angeles DJ Nicole Alvarez announced on air that “this band has more buzz than a city of bees” and the David vs. Goliath story of unsigned band Death Valley Dreams is resonating with radio stations and fans across the nation.

The single “Words like Fire” has already been heard in large radio markets nationwide, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, Portland, Kansas City, Miami, and more before the official release of the single to radio. The familiar but fresh 80’s sound of Death Valley Dreams has been described as “David Bowie meets The Cars meets the Killers”. They are also currently featured as a New Artist on the front page of iTunes, added to Apple Music's A-List Rock & A-List New Artist playlists, as well as being featured on Spotify's "New Noise" playlist.

Band manager, Jeff Hanson, who has engineered the success of Paramore, Creed & Mute Math, stated “Anyone with knowledge of the music industry understands that getting national airplay and being featured on the front page of iTunes is unheard of for an unsigned artist. Unsigned artists simply do not attract this type of attention or support...ever. Clearly, “Words like Fire” is a special song and Death Valley Dreams has struck a chord with industry tastemakers and music fans.”

The band just released an impressive lyric video on April 26 with an introduction from original MTV VJ Mark Goodman. Goodman, who received the track from a friend, stated “I often receive new music and will listen once...but I have listened to “Words like Fire” 25 times and it gets better every time.” The video is available for viewing on the band’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Texas based progressive band Bibeau have recorded their first single and shot their first video for release everywhere around the world. "Mark This", which will be released worldwide on May 3rd along with the single to radio and the digital version distribution.

The single was produced by Luke Garrigus at Blackroom Studios outside of Austin, Texas (https://www.facebook.com/blackroomstudios). Bibeau plans to record the remaining new songs with Luke in Blackroom Studios later in 2016 after the writing/demoing process is completed.

For the video, Bibeau actively recruited producer/directer Justin Mosley at Dark Letter Entertainment (c) to bring the band's post apocalyptic video to life. Justin, wrote, produced and director the film, "The Devil's Deal", which was recently released internationally through Lionsgate (Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation) and the trailer can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CbYpMf86M4. "The Devil's Deal" is a western/horror film with a premise that revolves around an the old western town in an old western time. The plot involves the return of a missing clergyman who calls a ceremony, the townspeople are thrust into a night of madness and death. The remaining townspeople must fight to keep not just their lives, but their very souls.

"We wanted to shoot the video with a heavy emphasis on our performance. At the same time, everyone in the band knew we needed to balance the five plus minute song with a narrative that reflected a potential post apocalyptic vision of the future", said Drew Theiring (vocalist/songwriter). "We also wanted a video that incorporates some of the elements from our artwork, band logo and live show written into the video treatment's story line" he added.

“We were also hoping to convey the look, feel and flow of some of the classic, timeless rock and metal videos from the height of MTV's popularity, said Robin Bibeau (guitarist). At the end of the day, we were all confident that Justin Mosley was our guy to help us pay homage to the classic video era.”

The "Mark This" video also features talented actress and model, Courtney Bridges (https://www.facebook.com/Courtneyinaction) who perfectly creates the feel and despair of life in a post apocalyptic world. Justin Mosley commented, "just finished the "Mark This" music video for Bibeau! These guys were super professional and a group of seriously bad ass musicians. I also had the pleasure of working with a talented actress Courtney Bridges. Everyone worked tirelessly to make a great finished product and I'm so excited for everyone to see it."

Check out the video HERE.

"Mark This" will be released in digital format on May 3, 2016 through Fade to Silence Records via Amped Distribution/AWAL worldwide. Bibeau's new single and video will be available worldwide for download/streaming via some of the following outlets: iTunes, Spotify, 7Digital, YouTube, Google Play, Pandora, Xbox Music, Omnifone, YouTube Content Id, Deezer, Rhapsody, Tidal, Slacker, 24/7 Entertainment, TouchTunes, Qobuz, Gracenote, NMusic, Simfy Africa, Thumbplay/iHeartRadio, Akazoo, Phononet, AMI Entertainment, Starzik, VerveLife, Shazam, eMusic, MediaNet, KKBOX, to name a few.

Bibeau (pronounced “be-bow”, “bebo”), formed in 2009 by brothers Robin and Peyton Bibeau after spending countless hours learning and rehearsing songs by Rush, The Beatles, Metallica, Free, Iron Maiden to name a few. The brothers decided to use their family name as homage to the legendary Van Halen (brothers on drums and guitar). Bibeau is managed by 30 year music industry veteran (Spitfire Records founder, Relativity Records, Mayhem/Fierce Records) Paul Bibeau, who also happens to be the father of drummer Peyton Bibeau (15) and guitarist Robin Bibeau (19). The band worked hard the past several years to develop a large following via performance videos on YouTube, ReverbNation and Facebook before coming into their own with a rapidly growing fan base with there live show.

Bibeau has spent the past several years at the #1 spot on ReverbNation (http://www.reverbnation.com/bibeau) Rock and Metal Charts in the East Texas area. Within the last month alone, Bibeau has earned new fans from Venezuela, Iran, Italy, France, Saint-
Petersburg, Russia, Hyderabad, India, Swansea, WLS, United Kingdom, West Lorne, ON, Canada, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Tucson, AZ, Sterling, IL, New York, NY, West Chester, PA, Waskom, TX, Rainier, OR. Further evidence of a growing story is the band is currently ranked in the top 500 overall artists in America and 814 globally on ReverbNation with 5,444 demo song plays (excluding the bands' first ever single) and 16,867 video views (excluding the bands' first ever video).

The band has also managed to rack-up over 26,000 video views on their Youtube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Bibeau36) which features self-produced, homemade video clips of the band performing original songs and cover versions of songs by Rush, The Beatles, Metallica, Free, Iron Maiden to name a few. Last but not least, Bibeau has utilized social media outlets such as Facebook (over 2,443 likes), Twitter (996 followers) and Instagram (508 followers) to stay connected to their fan base and grow their musical brand. Recently, Bibeau stayed ahead of the proverbial curve by launching a new Bibeau App for the iTunes and Google Play marketplaces, available for free on each platform.

Google: https://play.google.com/stor/apps/details?id=com.goodbarber.bibeau

Rounded out with a strong lineup of like minded, gifted musicians, Bibeau set out to create a unique progressive sound highlighting melody mixed with complex time signatures, rhythms and arrangements. Lead by a dual guitar approach with soulful, soaring vocals and a rhythm section willing to push the boundaries, Bibeau began to craft, record and perform their own material to a growing legion of fans.

Bibeau can be best described as a musical bridge between the classic power metal from the '70's and '80's combined with the edge and attitude of today's modern progressive metal. Hailing from East Texas, Bibeau draws inspiration from everything from Rush to TesseracT, Metallica to Dream Theater, Opeth to Tool, Led Zeppelin to Iron Maiden. Having said that, Bibeau manages to sound unlike anyone else around, mature, driven and poised for success with a purpose beyond their age.

Bibeau have been hailed as "Prog Metal's New Breed" and have wowed audiences with their skill, advanced technical abilities coupled with their intense delivery and the sheer strength of their original material. With their new spin on prog metal, Bibeau is most certainly pushing the boundaries of music. Forged with a firm grasp of the lineage, spirit and history of the music they adore, Bibeau is comprised of Drew Theiring (formerly with Dazed) on vocals, guitarists Robin Bibeau and Alan Benek Hernández (formerly with Sirkus), bassist Chris Ray and drummer Peyton Bibeau. The best is yet to come.

I Am Ghost who did their thing from 2005 through 2010, who released an EP "We Are Always Searching" (2005), two full-length albums "Lover's Requiem" (2006) and "Those We Leave Behind" (2008) as well as a live album "Live in Orange County" (2009). But in 2010 the band announced it's break-up indicating that "the band had matured and grown up". So since then the members have moved onto other projects and activities. But something's happened, various mentions have been posted upon social media, including most recent activity indicating a "special announcement" including photos to be said on April 29th 2016. Check it out below and await the details!

Periphery, the D.C.-based prog innovators who have graced the covers of Modern Drummer, Guitar World and Revolver, return this summer with a new album, Periphery III: Select Difficulty (July 22, Sumerian Records) and a U.S. tour, dubbed the Sonic Unrest tour, which launches on Aug. 4.

“Periphery III: Select Difficulty is finally complete and we’re extremely excited to show everyone,” said guitar player Jake Bowen. “For the past couple of years we’ve been refining our collaborative process as a band and we feel that it’s only getting better with the completion of this album. We spent two months writing songs that are not only representative of the Periphery sound but also reflect where all of us are as musicians, working together has helped us tread new ground musically and creatively. In support of Periphery III you’ll see us hit the road in the States this summer with SikTh, Chon, and Toothgrinder on the Sonic Unrest tour, it’s going to be a blast! See you on the road!”

Periphery’s own Adam “Nolly” Getgood oversaw production for the album as he did with the Juggernaut releases.  Nolly will no longer be a touring member of Periphery, as he will be expanding his production work in his native UK.  He remains an integral part, and a member, of Periphery. At this time no decision has been made about a touring bassist.

“Touring with Periphery has shown me some of the most incredible experiences I could ever have imagined, to meet amazing people all over the world and to create friendships for life; it has truly been an honor to perform in front of every audience who has watched us play over the years. However the touring life isn’t something that everyone can continue doing indefinitely, and for me, the time has come where I want to settle into a more normal existence, be able to make plans further into the future than the touring life enables, and to be able to focus more on the studio side of my music career,” explained Nolly. “I will, however, be remaining as a band member and contributing in any way that I can while the band is off the road; I love all of my fellow bandmates like brothers and I’m so grateful for the incredible support they’ve shown as I make this huge life change. I know they are going to be taking the music and performances to the next level when they hit the road later this year.”

The Sonic Unrest tour, a month-long outing, sponsored by D’Addario and Guitar Center, includes openers SikTh, Chon and Toothgrinder and kicks off on Aug. 4 in Raleigh, NC. Tickets are on-sale this Friday at 10 am local time. VIP packages, which feature a private meet and greet with the band as well as a limited edition, exclusive poster are available simultaneously via www.periphery.net.
