July 2024

ALL FOR METAL's journey leading to August 23, 2024, the release date of their new album Gods Of Metal through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), continues since they have arrived in Asian realms where this year officially is the 'Year Of The Dragon.' Reason enough for ALL FOR METAL to pay tribute by adding the very same name to their upcoming sophomore album's title, and by dedicating one of its singles to 2024. "The Way Of The Samurai" perfectly mirrors the legendary warriors: vocal-wise majestically represented by Antonio Calanna, Tetzel provides a marching character, lending his thunderous growling to this new hymn and making fans feel like witnessing a steel-dominated duel back in time.

Front-warrior Tetzel states, "With 'The Way Of The Samurai,' ALL FOR METAL don't only explore Far Eastern territories, but also celebrate their love for Asian culture while hailing the roots of power metal. Get caught by the song, and let's slice through the night like a katana!"

"Our fastest and most power metal-ish song is here! We're following 'The Way Of The Samurai,' may our swords shine in the dark eternally!" adds Calanna.

Century Media Records is thrilled to welcome SARCATOR, four young men from Trollhättan, Sweden who have dedicated their lives and souls to blood, fire and death.

At the young age of 14-20 SARCATOR released their first demo tape, Visions of Purgatory, via the American label Redefining Darkness Records in 2019. Just two years later the quadrumvirate got nominated for best rock/metal album for the Swedish music award P3 Guld with their 2020’s self-titled debut release for the same label. After releasing their 2nd album, Alkahest, via Black Lion Records in 2022, SARCATOR finally got a proper chance to play live, captivating crowds with their intense, blackened live shows. With their current line-up fully committed to the band despite their young age (all members are between 19 and 25) it was time for them to record their 3rd album which will be out via Century Media Records in early 2025 and bring SARCATOR to the forefront of an emergent, highly determined new generation of Scandinavian extreme metal bands.

The band comments on the cooperation that was inked in black blood: “We are extremely pleased to announce that we have now signed with Century Media Records, who will be releasing our upcoming third full-length album. This is a huge next step for us as a band and we're ready to enter this new chapter with deathrashing fury and full force! Hope to have you all, supporters of the band, coming along for the ride as well! More info on the new album coming soon…but first come and see us on the European dates with Hellripper and Cloak!”

Mike Gitter (VP of A&R Century Media Records) on the unholy alliance: "SARCATOR is pure blackened thrash-on-fire. Severely pissed and utterly fast and furious, the still barely out of their teens Swedish foursome take the thrashing blueprint, pour a ton of gasoline on it, light a match and they're nothing short of explosive. Their third and upcoming LP is as modern and punk in its ferocity as it is classic, conjuring the sounds of Possessed and Kreator while amping up its very intensity. We're excited to be working with SARCATOR and have no question that the future of thrash is upon us. And it's Swedish.”

Make sure to join circle-pits on their European tour with HELLRIPPER and CLOAK starting this week:

Ovtlier is ready to raise the bar a whole other level, gearing up to outdo their own personal best with the release of "Warriors feat. Chris Motionless". The track was written by the band's lead vocalist and founder, Joey Arena, Justin DeBlieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White), Alecia “Mixi” Demnar (Stitched Up Heart) and Joel DeMartino. It was produced by Justin DeBlieck as well, while joining its predecessor as the second single mixed by Chris Dawson (SAUL, Any Given Sin) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Bad Omens, The Plot In You). Due to the relationship between Chris Motionless and Joey, it was only a matter of time before the collaboration went into effect. With Ovtlier's dedication, nose to the grind work ethic and a star-studded team of support behind them, the success of "Warriors" as the band's most-accomplished single is inevitable!

Adding to the excitement, the music video for the song, directed by Tom Flynn, known for his work with acclaimed artists such as All That Remains, Body Count, and 10 Years, is bound to leave a lasting impression. Tom Flynn's impressive portfolio indicates his expertise in creating visually stunning and impactful music videos. The video made it's debut on Revolver!

“'Warriors' is a song that’s just built different. It encompasses all of who and what Ovtlier is. Add a powerhouse like Chris to the mix and you have something extra special. I could not be more excited to collaborate with someone with such talent but even more, a friend!” says Joey Arena, the band's vocalist.

Chris Motionless adds, “I’ve been following Ovtlier for a while now and I see how bad they want it, and what they are willing to do to get it. It’s tough to find that kind of dedication these days, so I wanted to do my part in helping an up and coming band get some more eyes and ears on them. I love the song and it’s blend of genres I grew up loving, so it was an easy call to sing on Warriors.”

Intergalactic Shock Rock legends GWAR made a record-breaking sixth appearance at the AV Club studios, again showcasing their unique take on a hit song far outside their usual realm. The return of AV Club's Undercover Series, after a seven-year hiatus, is a testament to the unparalleled “genius” of GWAR, who have no equal when it comes to reinterpreting songs.

"I couldn't think of a better way to bring back AV Undercover than with the band responsible for one of my favorite episodes," says Paste Media president Josh Jackson. "GWAR once again knocked it out of the park, completely making a song from the Barbie movie all its own."

"We’ve been fans of Ryan Gosling since the Mickey Mouse Club days, and like most terrifying intergalactic heavy metal superstars, we simply adore musical theater. This just made sense," adds vocalist BL0thR the Berserker.

On this visit, GWAR played with dolls, taking on the American icon Barbie, as they covered the hit song "I'm Just Ken" from the Barbie movie soundtrack. Of course, GWAR made it all their own. Watch the video for "We're Just GWAR" HERE.

MAJESTICA are back with their first new music of 2024! The Swedish power metal quartet proudly presents their latest single 'A New Beginning', which is the band's first release since 2021. Therefore, the song name not only fits in relation to this, but also speaks about a new beginning and letting things come to an end. Paired with musical elements reminiscent of the 80s, MAJESTICA unleashes a new catchy tune upon their fans that puts the band back on the radar.

Tommy Johansson comments:  "When Majestica finally returns with a new song it couldn’t have been a better one than 'A New Beginning'. Not only is it a heavy power metal song with a catchy sing-along chorus, but it’s also very melodic in the style of Stratovarius, 80’s rock, and Helloween with some hints of Gary Moore. The song reflects on (as the title says) to start over, but also of something that comes to an end. But the end isn’t always a bad thing. It feels great to finally release some new music with Majestica again and to show that we’re back - back with a new beginning."

As if the release of this brand new single wasn't enough, MAJESTICA have also delivered a brand new music video for their single, which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqW7wHNCc9M.

Following the explosive acclaim and surprise release of their first new single in five years, "Burden", Grammy-nominated metal legends AS I LAY DYING return with another brand-new single. Coinciding with today's kick-off of their USA headline tour in northern California, the new single, "The Cave We Fear To Enter", is available to stream now via Napalm Records and impacts with a new music video directed by Tom Flynn.

The lyrical concept behind "The Cave We Fear To Enter" began with an idea from bass player/vocalist Ryan Neff, inspiring vocalist Tim Lambesis to develop the lyrical message further. The balladic track begins pensively before charging into an emotive melodic metalcore opus. Like "Burden", the new track was co-produced by guitarist Phil Sgrosso and Hiram Hernandez, mixed by Aaron Chaparian and mastered by Ted Jensen.

Frontman Tim Lambesis offers about the lyrical process behind "The Cave We Fear To Enter":

"This is the first time I’ve written lyrics based on an idea started by someone else in the band. Sometimes, when we try out different melodies, we’ll temporarily use words that just happen to fit as a placeholder. But in this song, Ryan chose words that he felt represented what he had been processing leading up to the demo. It felt right for me leave that therapeutic expression in place. So, when I took over, the imagery of a cave where you face your fears came to mind. While I only know a little of Joseph Campbell’s work, the imagery brought to mind a quote of his that I remembered and used for inspiration as well."

Guitarist Phil Sgrosso chimes in on the development of the song musically and working with video director Tom Flynn again:

"'The Cave We Fear To Enter' may be one of our most adventurous songs to date. We broke out of a lot of old habits and formulaic moves to create something that touches on a lot of emotional elements we haven't explored so deeply before. From its inception, it was instantly a favorite for all of us.

"We really enjoyed collaborating with Tom Flynn on the video to combine the storylines between 'Burden' and 'The Cave We Fear to Enter', continuing the journey of the character through new environments and circumstances. It was a lot of fun to take new creative risks to tell this story visually alongside the somber and uplifting nature of the song."

DESTRUCTION have dropped a cover version of Accept’s world-famous hit, “Fast as a Shark”, alongside a new visualizer video. The song is featured on the two-track 12’’ vinyl in the very limited fan edition, 'No Kings – No Masters'. It is heating up the anticipation for the ‘Klash of the Ruhrpott’ on July 20, 2024, where the Teutonic 4 (DESTRUCTION, alongside Kreator, Sodom and Tankard) will be reunited this year. Fans are so excited by this unique event that it was sold out within only three days! This show clearly promises to celebrate thrash metal in its purest form and solidify its legacy in the genre.

DESTRUCTION‘s massive career has seen many successes, with the band hitting stages at the world’s biggest festivals around the world like Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Graspop Metal Meeting, and México Metal Fest. In 2023, they then went on to complete the ‘40 Years Of Destruction’ anniversary tour throughout South America, Mexico, and Europe. But still, the vicious thrash metal pioneers DESTRUCTION are far from slowing things down. On the contrary - they are more than prepared for their next milestones – stay tuned for more news about an upcoming album, set for release in early 2025!

Mastermind SCHMIER himself on the new track:

"When this song came out in 1982, it changed our world. There it was: The first German speed metal anthem and what an intense harmony solo!!!!

"I still love this track like on the first day I heard it, so to finally cover it was a manifested desire.

"We did it the DESTRUCTION way, ‘cause the original will always be the best version! This is a tribute to one of the originators of heavy music and shows how important this tune was for the whole metal world! Enjoy!"

American masked metal masters MUSHROOMHEAD recently announced their brand-new, upcoming ninth album, 'Call The Devil', out August 9, 2024 via Napalm Records. 30 years into their groundbreaking history, the band shows no signs of slowing down, proving innovative without losing sight of their trademark sound and imagery.

Following the album's hard-hitting first single, "Fall In Line" - which Revolver dubbed "groove-heavy" and Consequence called "a pummeling barrage of industrial metal" - today, MUSHROOMHEAD unveil their second new nü metal-laden single "Prepackaged". The song shines as one of the band's heaviest new offerings, cementing their renown with massive riffs, aggressive growls, and a catchy chorus.

MUSHROOMHEAD mastermind Steve "Skinny" Felton says about "Prepackaged":

"'Prepackaged' turned out extremely heavy, aggressive and haunting. Full of dark sonic textures. Both the video and the song are delightfully dark, foreboding, and unrelentingly grim."

"With 'Trollslayer' we didn’t only keep all the key elements of Dwarf metal, we also brought back the fast-paced rhythms typical of our previous albums.

"Both 'Wintersaga' and 'Warfront' have had a great impact on our fans, even if they have many differences in style. With 'Trollslayer' we unified all the best features of both albums and we are delivering what we believe is the best Dwarf Metal experience so far.

We can’t wait to play some of these new songs live for you, are you ready?!”

Following the announcement of their new EP, 'V.G.E.P'. out on October 1st, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT returns with the second single from the release, "The Ballad of Jon Milwaukee." The new track is accompanied by a music video which is available below.

Frontman Fang VonWrathenstein explains:

"This EP is all about our favorite video games, and one of my favorites is a motorcycle racing game called 'Road Rash'. We played it on our weekly Twitch gaming stream for many weeks, and when it came time to choose a character, we of course selected the character with the most Wisconsin street cred: Jon Milwaukee! As we played the game, the chat made up a bunch of lore about our bike-racing character, much of which made it into the lyrics of the game. When we were shooting the video, I knew I wanted to have real-life bikers involved, so I asked a friend to help me make introductions with a local gang. A bunch of cases of beer and a couple of bottles of Costco bourbon later, we had a date set up for the shoot. What I didn't know was that the gang had scheduled a large rally of all of the surrounding gangs to coincide with our filming! We had over 200 bikers at this rally (although unfortunately, a large chunk of them didn't want to appear on camera). We spent the day riding, drinking, and rocking out, and I think we became honorary members of the gang. Well, at least our biker personas did!"
