January 2019

"Awaiting The Wicked", is the fourth full-length album from Greek death metallers OBDUKTION. This band being originally founded back in 1995, over time releasing numerous content, along with playing shows and touring as well. As for this latest works of theirs comes this album "Awaiting The Wicked", consisting of 8-tracks that should bring fans of Asphyx, Gorefest, Vital Remains, along with many others like Deicide, Grave, and even Decrepit Birth. For instance the similarities of sound from these acts can be heard a lot within such tracks off this album including such as “Murderous Sanity”, “Devour The Soul”, “Incantation Of Chaos”, and “Consumption Of The Flesh”. Each one of these tracks sounding fierce and very intense. The energy given is very direct and in your face, providing this wave of torment with just the vocalization, letting the melodies of the instrumentals back it all up. In other words, the material just stands strong, never letting loose, but keeping a firm grip hold that holds tight, giving you everything at once. It’s how the whole album sounds off pretty much.  OBDUKTION’s fourth album to date that is this one, “Awaiting The Wicked”, is downright lots of fun and very fulfilling as a wholesome piece of classic death metal to its finest fold.

Post hardcore band ROZU have released a few singles,  with so much content worthy of new music, that an album will follow suite soon enough. Plus the band has some tours coming up as well. Discover just what else the band has got in-store for this music and the future.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band is made up of myself (Tim Graham: vocals), DJ Sundine guitar, Henry Navarre Bass, and Brian Robertson Drums. We all came together back in January 2018 with this vision for the band and how bands should operate within this digital age we have.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

We had pretty much compiled a list of unique band names that we all liked then just kept trimming it down. We wanted something very unique and easy to remember and Rozu being the Japanese word for rose really stood out on that list. We ended up going with it and started planning the branding and story this band is telling with a blooming rose in mind.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based out of Denver Colorado, like any other scene it has its moments of being really strong and sometimes the opposite. Regardless we love it here and really enjoy when we get to play that local market. Our buddies in Shatterproof are really something special so check them out.

4. How would you describe your style?

The best way to describe is as a post hardcore band. We are so diverse with our writing process and really want to write how we are feeling everyday so there should be a little piece of something for everyone within our music.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released 3 singles so far to really start building up that foundation, but we are constantly writing.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Absolutely! We went a different approach forming this band where we pretty much took 6 months to write a lot of music and just never stopped, so while we are releasing singles and getting the fan base up we are continuing to build content. At this point we have almost 2 albums worth of music.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We just had our first string of shows this past week and are working on a couple tours for the spring and summer right now.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We really are just never wanting to slow down and continue to grind in the smarter fashion we have been. We would love to be pretty much full-time touring and is our major goal right now.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find us on every major platform out there but the best place to get connected for everything Rozu is at www.rozuband.com.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

I just want them to hear and feel the honesty in our music, we pride ourselves in writing very true to ourselves and about real shit and not just empty words on a page that sound catchy.

4. How would you describe your style?

We play a mixture of stuff but we consider ourselves to be Alt Emo. Trying to bring back what original Emotional Hardcore is, but with our own take on it, love early bands like Rite Of Spring, Fugazi, Mineral, but also Nirvana, Brand New, and Blink 182. So we try to blend the best we can.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Millennials 1", by various artists is an EDM release from Bongo Boy Records. This combination of various artists takes such as Korvaz with the track titled "Gravity Defied feat. JR Hilcher", is a rather cross between EDM and pop music. You get this sense of energy that can be heard if the song were played within the walls of a club setting. Whereas played otherwise the track becomes just suitable for the ears, that you fine it joyful yet fine. It has a formula that does not distress but has a continuous beat to it. Same would have to go for another track by Sharon Lia Band called "Fairytales", which is straight out of the 70's to 80's time frame, being much like "Funkytown" by Lipps Inc. Similar usage of melodies of the tone of the music is what makes the similarities right. Vocalization does not come close, but still has some style to its voice factor. Altogether though, that track alone is really catching and has a styling that will not leave your head for sometime.

"Ready For The World (EDM) feat. Keith Hines Production" from Tammi T is strictly dance-able from start to finish clearly. Vocals are on point, with the musical melodies being so upbeat in tone, the music never lets down. It keeps up this energy that has this swaying motion to it, that it never wants to end the song. It is surely one you can find one self hearing on serious of overplays. Now "Attack!" by Les Fradkin is an EDM track like no tomorrow. It has this vibration of energy that is another one of those out of the 80's time loops. You get this idea of it when hearing it. So much going on for it, it builds up the melodies of the music with ease, you can find yourself moving yourself to the beats instantly.

A lot of the other various artists on this "Millennials 1" by Various Artists album release is just so fulfilling and loads of fun, you will find at least one track if not two to keep you entertained. It's how this album plays itself outward really. You get hit with such energy from this assortment of melodies you cannot resist to dance to the beats!

Energetic sound is what drives FILMSPEED's sound and music, it being nothing of heart and soul, that it becomes easily contagious! Thus forth, the band is currently out on tour, titled "The Consistently Off Tour", showcasing their talents and music to many who come to this 10-city tour trek. The band got together to talk of the touring matters and the music as well.

1. You are about to start a fantastic headline US Tour Filmspeed! If you could think of one thing you would like to accomplish the most through this tour what would that be?!

Well… Last October, we had this idea to head up the coast and play Vancouver. None of us have visited and we’ve been told it’s one of the greatest cities on the planet. You know how things snowball, right?  So here we are about to headline 11 straight dates.  It’s flattering for sure, our main goal though is to spruce up the resume and hit the road in the summer as a support slot for a much bigger act.

2. What have you done to prepare yourselves for the tour?

Rented a vehicle and ordered killer new merch. Haha!  Honestly, we’ve logged in so many hours playing together that our only worry is January weather.  We are locked, loaded, and keeping our eye out for snow storms. So long as the wheels make it to the next date, showtime is simply muscle memory.

3. How do you promote your band and shows?

Social media continues to dominate. It helps keep all our peeps updated and makes it easy for us to talk with other bands all around the world.  Don’t ever discount guerrilla tactics though.  Here in SoCal there’s a great rock show happening on any given Wednesday night. This means if you keep your head up on your way out of the venue, you may find one of us with a sticker in your face. That’s right, we still got love for the streets!

4. Can you describe your show, visually and musically for us?

Visually, our show is 3 kids suffering from massive anxiety and taking it out on some beat up equipment.  We’ve heard it referred to as "controlled chaos". Musically, we’re gonna grab you by the soul and shake that shit out!  Every room is a little different, so not every set is quite the same. We often throw covers in between songs or even in the middle of the song itself. Our crowds are usually full of singers and dancers, some good, some awful, but all of them collectively losing it.

5. What do you do to get ready for a show?

There’s 3 important steps in preparing for a show.  In no particular order:

-Set up the gear.
-Stretch the hamstrings.
-Get a drink from the bar.

6. Is there any song that when you play it live on stage makes your adrenaline levels kick in and make you want to go hyper?

Every night is a little different, it really depends on what the crowd is feeling that night. There’s certain shows where we pull out a track from ages ago but just because of a select few in the crowd, it ends up winning the night.

7. Do you remember the first show your band played?

This incarnation of the band had it’s first gig back in October of ‘16.  That was our first gig with now full-time drummer Oliver.  It was this swanky little spot in L.A.  A few handfuls of folks at 10PM on a Sunday. Safe to say, he absolutely crushed that one and all of them since.

8. What was the first concert you attended as a fan?

One by one it goes;

Craig- Garth Brooks.

Nick- Presidents of the United States of America.

Oliver- Projeckt Revolution Tour w/ Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg, The Used, and Less Than Jake.

9. What can fans expect to hear? More new songs or old songs?

Our new single "Bless My Soul" drops on Jan 18th with a B-side called "Shakey Love".  Most likely, you’ll be hearing one if not both of these during this tour. We’re also getting a brand new song together to work out the kinks thru the length of the run. You may or may not hear that one, we’ll see how it goes, haha!

10. Once the tour in the US is over what do you have planned afterwards?

We’re taking February to record. There’s a bank of about 8 demos that we wanna plow through and see what turns out the best. We’ll be doing a few spot dates in March and April, but the main focus is scheduling a great summer.

11. To those who may not be familiar with Filmspeed, can you depict what they can expect?

We’re a band of close friends who are completely obsessed with music. We like to have a good time, all the time. You’re not likely to find another group with more genuine passion. If you do, send ‘em our way, because it sounds like we’ll get along famously.

12. What types of content has the band released thus far or recently that we should check out?

Working backwards, you can listen to our podcast "Consistently Off", which is always posted first on our SoundCloud. We’ve just recorded episode 10 and looking forward to getting the whole series on iTunes and all the other places soon. Before that, our studio cover of Foreigner’s "Cold As Ice" dropped last October on Spotify and we put up a video to YouTube and our Facebook.  (Pretty sure we mentioned all the platforms in the paragraph). We’re anxious for the release of the new singles and videos.

13. How easy is it to keep the motivation going on a daily basis for Filmspeed?

It’s all about staying in the zone. The band is perpetually booked 4 months out. That means we’re always looking forward to the next phase. Case in point, we’ll be recording 2 weeks after our latest release.

14. Would you say that is your final answer?

Well this is our 2nd interview with you folks, so we’ll bet that this definitely isn’t the final answer. We’ll be looking forward to catching up with you all soon.

Progressive grunge metal enthusiasts Static Tension have an all new album causing such a buzz, so much is being said of it. The band goes into talks of the album, some insight history behind this band, and what sort of plans align the way ahead.

1. Let’s start off with an icebreaker. If you could describe your band in 3 words, what would they be?

Progressive grunge metal.

2. What are your names and what do you do in the band?

Rob Rom, I’m the lead vocalist and lyricist.

Greg Blachman plays guitars and does some vocals.

Brian Spurrier is our bassist.

And Tony Sager is our percussionist.

3. You guys are a newer band so many people might know about your history. Would you be able to delve into it a little?

Let’s see if I can sum it up in a short paragraph or two.  I met Greg 4 years ago through a friend and we hit it off. We started making music together with our friend Ritchie Paik who played bass at the time, and a drummer we found through an ad named Tony Sager. We recorded and released our first EP "Rebirth", played some small shows, and headed back to our recording space for our 2nd EP, "Out of Reach".

In August of 2017, Ritchie had to part ways for very respectable reasons, as he’s a fantastic human being.  Our good friend and artist from our previous EP's, Brian Spurrier, picked up the bass and we started writing "Ashes to Animation" right away.

4. Where does the name Static Tension come from?

Greg basically used that name in the 90's for a project, and he released an album called “paint by numbers”. We just liked how it sounded and figured it fits what we’re about, mental illnesses and the darker tones of life. It can’t be all butterflies and roses all the time.

5. Who are some of your influences?

Well Alice In Chains is a major influence, both eras, they’ve always been a top favorite. We all have some varying tastes so I can’t speak for everyone, but there’s definitely some Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Nirvana, faith no more, dream theater, fates warning, Pink Floyd, Deep purple, Jethro Tull, Mastodon, Gojira... just a wide mix of rock and metal

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

We hit on the struggles of people like us. Anxiety, depression, addiction, spirituality, just basically a lot of human emotion. It may change over time to mirror whatever we’re going through or thinking but at the moment we’re reaching out to those battling these issues.

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Yes we write our own music. All songs are different. Usually Greg will come up with a great riff and we will get together and build melodies and timings from there. But sometimes I will come up with a vocal melody and bring it to the band, and we’ve even had tony bring us a few guitar riffs. So we try different avenues and angles to make sure there’s a good variety of sounds.

8. What was the recording process like for this new album of yours?

Easier than our previous EP's. We’ve learned a lot and we do our recording, mixing, and mastering all on our own with no outside influence. It’s a great way to learn as you go and also helps to achieve a one of a kind raw sound. The writing always comes easy and natural for us, and of course there are frustrations that occur with tracking and schedules but over all it was a pleasure.

9. Would you say that you have a favorite song off this album and which is it and why?

We all have our favorite but mine is "No Return", which was not a choice for the singles we’ve released so far.  I’ve always preferred the deeper cuts and "No Return" is the song I would show people to say "This is Static Tension".

10. Why should people go forth and check out this album?

I think people will find an old familiar 90's feel.  I also feel there’s a lot going on in this album so it’s an interesting listen to say the least. Its a mysterious album that starts off with a bit of a trance like introduction and doesn’t pull any punches for an hour straight... it’s a complete dive into everything the four of us have ever loved about rock music.

11. What would you say separates you from other bands in the scene?

We write what we would love to hear instead of what we think the majority of people want to hear. We give you a break from cliche lyrics and repetitive pop rock riffs provided by mainstream radio and attempt to grab something outside of the box.

12. How about this next year, what is next for Static Tension?

We’re promoting "Ashes to Animation", playing some shows, selling some merchandise, gaining new listeners, writing more new music, and enjoying every moment of having the ability to share music with our wonderful friends and fans!

Rock n' roller REV JONES has a new album out titled "Bakwash". This is where the vocalist/bassist Rev Jones himself discusses said album and future plans.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Rev: Well this is my solo project. A little history about me (Rev Jones). I've been touring & recording with several big acts for the last 20 years or so. I was in a speed metal band called Fort'e we released 2 albums on Massacre Records in the early 90's. Then I joined Black Symphony we released 2 albums in the late 90's and did a European tour with DIO. Then in 2000 I joined Michael
Schenker Group, I was the bass player 2000 until Dec. 2006, during that time we toured the world non stop and released a couple of albums & DVD's. I did returned to do several tours in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014. After leaving MSG, I joined 2 well well known bands, the first was Steelheart who I toured & recorded with from 2007-2017, the second band was Leslie West/Mountain who I toured & recorded with from 2008-present. I still currently do shows with Leslie West. Also during all those years I recorded with George Lynch, Jeff Martin, Paul Gilbert, Kottak, Jack Frost, Steve Moore, Fort'e, China Blue, and Blasted To Static. I also did several tours during those years with Fuel, Texas Hippie Coalition, and Gundriver.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Rev: It's my name.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Rev: I live in the middle of the USA in Oklahoma. Back when I was starting out late 80's early 90's it was awesome. We had created this amazing scene here, local shows had 250-800 people, there were like 20 or 30 great bands that should've been signed. Then the scene died. Some blame bands like Nirvana for it, but in reality Metallica is the one that should be blamed. When Metallica became mainstream there was no need for a metal club any more. Before that if you wanted to hear top 40 you went to the top 40 bars and if you wanted to hear metal or heavy rock you went to the local rock/metal club, after Metallica became huge you could go to the top 40 bar and hear Metallica songs, so why go to the rock/metal club. As for the scene now 2018, there isn't really that big of a scene. There are a couple of good bands I've seen here, Sign Of Lies,
and Kirra.

4. How would you describe your style?

Rev: Rev Jones Rock! It's a combination of all the music I grew up listening to, from Buddy Holly to Beatles, King Crimson to Jim Croce, Stevie Wonder to Sly Stone, Deep Purple to Van Halen, Judas Priest to Slayer. It's all in there.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Rev: I have a new album called "Bakwash" that was just just released in November 2018. It is my first solo album. It features myself (Rev Jones) on Vocals & Bass, Jim Dofka (Dofka, Leather Leone) on guitar, and Jeff Martin (Badlands, MSG, Racer X) on drums. This album is full of heavy rock songs with catchy riffs, intense vocals, pounding drums, and lots of Insane over the top bass & guitar soloing. I'm very pleased with it, and I think everyone that is into music from Rock to Metal should give it a listen, there's a something for pretty much everyone on this album. There is also a new Steelheart live DVD that just came out that features myself (Rev Jones) on Bass. It is called "Steelheart - Rock'n Milan" on Frontier Records. It was filmed in in Italy 2017 shortly before I left the band.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Rev: Well since the "Bakwash" album was just released, I'm gonna be focusing mostly on promoting it. I have plans to release at least 1 maybe 2 videos featuring songs from the album. I have a a couple of cover songs that I recorded for this album that I last minute pulled off, I plan to release at least 1 of them as a single sometime during 2019. As for new material, I have a bunch of songs ready for my next album as well as a ton of song ideas so I will probably start recording that material end of summer 2019.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Rev: I am currently playing shows around my area with a different lineup than the one on the new album. Jim and Jeff both live too far away to do any shows other than a planned tour. I would love to do a couple shows with that lineup but as for now I can't make that happen. I am planning to do as many dates as I can this year, and I am working on a few things right now that will hopefully pan out. My current live lineup is myself (Rev Jones) on vocals & bass, Will Galbraith on guitar, and Kerry Staton on drums.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Rev: Well since I'm no longer playing bass for Steelheart, and only doing shows with Leslie West every few months, my focus will be on my solo stuff. I definitely plan to keep doing shows and to release another album or 2. As for the lineup on future recordings, I will most likely use my current lineup, unless I decide to add several guest players.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Rev: You can stream my new album at https://revjones.hearnow.com its also on most all online streaming services, spottily, apple music, etc. You can purchase the album at one of these:

Available on CD (USA and CAN) = http://revjones.bigcartel.com/.
Digital Download (world wide) = https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/bakwash/1438599660.
Digital and CD (world wide) = https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/revjones.

It's also available on most all online stores.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Rev: That it is honest to Rev Jones. It is not written to sound like anyone, or to please certain kinds of listeners, or to try and follow certain guidelines that new music follows. These songs were ideas that popped in my head that I decided to share with anyone that enjoys music. What you hear is what I am musically at the moment I recorded it. If you dig what I do, please enjoy it. If you don't dig what I do, that's fine, stick to what you like.

Indie alternative go getters On Better Terms have been around for sometime now, releasing some material including an all new full-length record. The band goes into chatter about their music the plans ahead.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

One day back in 2013, Andrew showed Alex some lyrics that he had written, so Alex began writing music with our old bass player while Andrew was finishing his last year of college. We wrote 8 songs in that time, chose 5, and released our self-titled EP. We've been touring and playing shows ever since.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

We played around with a few names, our first name was actually "capital." But we scratched it, and changed the name to On Better Terms a few weeks later. The name stuck because it seemed to match the lyrical theme of our songs that we were writing.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based out of Dallas, TX. There's a ton of great bands in the DFW area, which really helps to push everyone to improve. Some of our favorites are My Apologies, Realities, Record Setter, Seafire, Trauma Ray.

4. How would you describe your style?

We like to think our music is a blend of heavy driving riffs, groovy rhythms, mixed with punk vocals, and spoken word.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

2 EPs, a live record, 2 singles, a split EP, and a new full-length record.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We just released a new full-length record, so we'll continue to write but we'll focus on promoting our current release.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have a few small runs planned for spring 2019, and we plan to do a big one in the fall.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

The plan for the band is to continue to write music and tour until we can't do this anymore.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, YouTube, social media...you know where all of that stuff is.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We really want our first time listeners to remember that it made them think about something, enough to where they would want to listen again. I would like them to remember that it made them think about something, enough to where they would want to listen again.

Pop progressive rockers Days To Come released a debut EP "Subsist The Art Of Survival" in 2016 with a follow-up release of a new single called "Siren" out this year in 2019. The band got together to talk of this single, the EP, and how they came together and continue to grow as artists.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and it’s members.

Justin: The band officially formed in 2014. I met Brandon at a local music store one afternoon before a gig and we hit it off pretty quickly. Jalen joined us in early 2018. We’ve had a few lineup changes over the years but we feel pretty confident in the team we currently have.

2. What’s the origin of the bands name?

Justin: I thought of the name Days To Come one day while I was at my day job. I was frustrated because we had all of the pieces to form a band except for a drummer and it is always so difficult finding a drummer! I knew that we would eventually find one and everything would work out in the future, but that moment of frustration gave birth to the name.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Justin: The band is based out of Albany, Georgia and our local music scene seems dominated by country and rap. There are great rock/metal bands, but we're definitely in the minority. We would definitely recommend the bands on our booking agency’s roster. You can check them out at blindanxietyentertainment.com. They work with bands like Lydia Can’t Breathe, A Light Divided, Kelen Heller, and 7 Stone Riot.

4. How would you describe your style?

Brandon: We're continually developing and working towards what "Days To Come" sounds like, but I want to be able to say that we have pop styled, catchy vocal melodies layered with intricate music supporting it. Basically pop-prog.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Brandon: We released our first EP, "Subsist | The Art Of Survival", in 2016 and we’re releasing our next single (Siren) this January (2019). We’re always growing as artists. We’re constantly trying to implement new and creative ideas into our music.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Brandon: We do! Our latest release is our new single "Siren" (out Friday, January 25th). We’re continually developing and expanding on what the Days To Come "sound" is and, when we were working on "Siren", everything clicked. We knew that the feel of "Siren" was what we were after and what we would continue to chase in future songs. "Siren" is punchy, melodic, musical, and memorable. We hope that our fans enjoy it!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Jalen: Yes! We’ve got a few short runs over the next few months and we’ve got a longer tour planned for July. We’re confirmed to play a major festival in July and we CAN’T wait to let our fans know where.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Justin: We’re excited to release our next single, "Siren", as well as our first music video. We recently partnered with management company Crown Artist Development & indie label From The Depths Entertainment & we’re so excited for 2019. This year is gonna be a big year for us & we can’t wait to share it with you!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Jalen: We’re on all of the social sites as @daystocomemusic. You can listen to our music on iTunes, Spotify, Youtube, etc. You can find our merch on our website - daystocomemusic.com.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Jalen: I want the listener to understand that each of our songs can be interpreted differently and that the same song can help through several emotions.

Soufly's eleventh album to date titled "Ritual", is the most and last album thus far, as the band see's themselves do nothing but tour for the time being. Main man Max Cavalera vocalist/lead guitarist of the band, got into a bit of a discussion of this album, touring activity, and how he manages to handle so many projects at once i.e. Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Killer Be Killed.

1. Three years have passed since we last and first spoke in 2015, what has the band been up to?

Max: Ummm lot’s of touring last year, we went around the world a little bit. Made a new record, came out last year called “Ritual”. New tour starting next week, hopefully we can go everywhere with it. The fans liking the album and reviews were great, some amazing as well. I am super excited to get back on the road. Our plan is to tour, no new music this year, just touring for now. Going everywhere, festivals, touring, do it all. I am very excited for this upcoming U.S. tour, should be really fun. Mixing the new material with the old material should make an interesting set list.

2. Your eleventh album "Ritual", has been out for sometime, but do you have any new music already in the works?

Max: No, not right now. I just put out two records out, one after the other, Cavalera Conspiracy's and then Soulfly's. In the way it worked out, this year was left open for touring! We are all booked up from now into the summer time. Lots of festivals, and runs across various countries and another U.S. run. So this year is devoted to touring, this kind of music is all about the live show and performance. The places we play are perfect for it, special and lots of fun and a total blast every night. The set list will be changed from night to night as much as we can. I look forward to getting out and sharing this music with the fans. I still don’t get tired of it, even after 30 years of it. Very confident it will be a great tour!

3. Does it ever get tiring having to juggle so many bands?

Max: I get overwhelmed sometimes. I remember when I was done working on material for the last Cavalera Conspiracy album, my manager had told me it was time to write material for a new Soulfly album. I was like "no, stop no. I am empty right now, I have no ideas." Little by little new ideas came along, and it came out great. The team behind it were all great. It was so much fun, the hardest part would be diving the material, with what goes to what. This being better for this or that band, I like the challenge, and like that I have three ways to get material out there. Being more flexible and able to do so many things and playing so much material including my earlier works as well. One foot in the past and one foot in the future, you can enjoy both works. In my current state of career being, it's a real blessing, being able to play shows, revisiting certain albums, writing all new material, some people do one or the other, we can do both and it is really cool to do.

4. Have you ever written a new song and accidentally made said song for one band but had it meant for another band, getting the material mixed up, since being a part of so many bands.

Max: A lot of times, I write for certain records. So it doesn't get all mixed up. When it was time for this "Ritual" album, I was engulfed in the Soulfly world, listening to our earlier releases, recreating that magic of this band. The other thing is is my own love for metal music. The combination of groove, death metal, and thrash metal together is my universe. I am in the comfort zone in those genres with this music. Like the song "Feedback", is more of a rock n' roll song, it was fun and awesome. Sometimes trying different things, experimental, Soulfly adding in some saxophone it was cool. I've heard others come to me and say that song sounds cool. We are always trying new things and pushing the envelope a bit. Grow as a musician, it's a line between pleasing the fans and doing something you have not done before. We have done both and it is always fun. So much fun was put into this "Ritual" album and how everyone loved it, made me very happy that everyone likes it. Music is done for the fans and for us as well. It's an underground thing for us, a lot of the other music I have heard is underground music, me being supporting their world. This is still being a part of my life and being a side of my young life Max. It is still alive and enjoying metal music, something that is treasured very much. I am always discovering new bands, telling others about them it is all I love and the community as well is cool.

5. Since you have these three acts to juggle around, will we ever see them come together for a show and or tour?

Max: All three that might be a little much. There would be extra Red Bull endorsement for that tour. I don’t know, I would like to do more, other projects to deep my toes into. Nothing official yet but hopefully one day type of thing. In that 70000TONS OF METAL cruise ship, I am playing Soulfly album one night, and then the other night playing “Return to Roots” material of my earlier works. So that’s dividing a little bit between them. But if it comes up, I would love too and it would be cool. Just have to have that energy to do it. Right now, Soulfly’s shows run an hour and a half, if you put another hour or so 3 hours would be too much. We will leave that for future plans.

6. Once the tour in the USA is over what do you have planned afterwards?

Max: Right now, just touring, going to as many places as we can. Got some festivals in the summer, hopefully another U.S. tour as well. I like these packages we have been doing, hopefully another U.S. tour we can do with some more bands. We have visited 80 countries already, we can visit more we have never been to before. It is fun and nice to have a complete touring year. Don’t think it has been this way before, always recording and writing. This year nothing set for recording and just enjoy and tour as much as we can, bringing the metal to the masses!

Being primarily influential within the 1960's and 1970's American folk rock musician Shawn Phillips has released his most latest album to date titled "Continuance". The guitarist, vocalist and sitar player, has released what some call daring, socially conscious, and expressive piece of his time. That said, the musician has mixed together hard rock, blues, funk, jazz, classical and new age into such an experience of style is simply enthralling yet unreal even.

Never hearing any of his previous works prior to this album, the album stood out for itself. Capturing that experience of essence that showcased raw but impressive talent for Shawn Phillips. It being his 26th solo effort release in fact. Take for instance such tracks as "Back To The Fusion", "Dancing In Survival", "Mirror Of Light", and "The Force That We Call Life", all captivate this eeriness of tone, that makes the vocalization so moving, the instrumentation just keeps it altogether for the faith of the music.

Like the melodies displayed captures this tone that depicts what was said before, except some how it makes the music just more empowered and gripping. Vocals can be spread far and wide, intertwining within the music of the instruments, that it appears as if at times, the music never wants to end. When it does come to an ending point, you are taken a back to the sounds that were just heard, wanting to hit replay if not eagerly wanting more of his works that is Shawn Phillips.

When it comes down to it, the material at hand, sounds very stable with lots of progression and talent of experience thrown across it. This release showcasing such works, that the material never gets old or faded, it becomes fresher with each hear through. Shawn Phillips being an artistic musician of his lifetime, that will hold up to what he does best, with creating such creative pieces of art, that is made into what many know as music. “Continuance”, is an album for the current timing, that says so much, there is nothing left to be said of it really.

X-Calade Promotionz is the company from rapping hip hop artist Fabp aka Fabpz the Freelancer, whose array of content is released quite extensively. What his company is doing though is releasing content as well, including an album titled "Beatz On Blaze Instrumentals". A strictly instrumental release of material, if the titling didn't get you the point at hand there ya go.

Anyway this release is all instrumental tracks, but some do stand out quite a bit. Like for instance take such as "Danielle Ruby Instrumental", "Juice Box Instrumental", "Bunny Hopper Instrumental", and "So Many Died", capture this energy wave that is entertaining but lots of fun. You get not this techno source of beat, but more of a styling that is modernized yet hip. The material being very on the level but still catching as well. At times though the material feels eerie yet fine, making the noise of the instrumentals more dramatic yet simplified. It’s as if, the music is just very easy going upon each of these tracks and the entirety of the album really.

When it comes down to it, this release is just chalk full of an interesting side to the rapper hip hop guy Fabp aka Fabpz the Freelancer, he not only has his own content of works, but this company and then all of this content as well, it is just showing off what he can truly do with his mind set. If more likely works would come forth, surely the music would be heard many times over.

Hard Rock Graphic Novel Art Project SEPTEMBER MOURNING has released the official music video for their newest single, "Glass Animals."

”'Glass Animals' is about the fragmented soul. It's about the realization that we are all broken. Something or someone has broken us and within that broken state we ultimately find the strength to survive. Musically, it's a little bit of a tribute to one of our favorite bands: The Deftones. The song ties into the comic book as well…. Hannah is a broken soul who, through the help of September and Claire, finds the strength to face her personal demons and live again." - Emily Lazar (Founder)

Shortly after "Glass Animals" drops, Image Comics is releasing September Mourning The Complete Collection co-created by Lazar and Marc Silvestri, co-written by Mariah McCourt and David Hine, illustrated by Sumeyye Kesgin and Tina Valentino and published by Top Cow. "In a world where Reapers prey on the souls of the living, imprisoning them in the shadow-land of Mortem, there is one last hope for humanity.... September Mourning" describes Lazar. The graphic novel will be sold in comic stores, books stores (Barnes & Noble) nationwide and on Amazon.
