October 2017

Today not only marks the 13th anniversary of North Carolina based rock/sweetcore band and Revival Recordings artist Alesana, but will also serve as the announcement day for one of their biggest undertakings to date. The project, called Origins, is currently rooted as much in mystery as it is in magnitude for any hardcore fan of the band. Alesana wants fans to know that Origins is a labor of love, created and compiled entirely by their hands, and their hands alone. Vocalist Shawn Milke says of the endeavor:

“Origins is a project that has been years in the making. I always imagined giving everything we possibly could to our amazing fans, both figuratively and literally. Origins is exactly that. This was forged by our own hands, every single aspect of it. It is an experience like no other we have conceived and any questions you may have regarding it's contents will be answered in the coming days and weeks. This is our story, our history, our future, our now. Find the key, unlock the history. This is Origins."

While very few details have been released thus far, fans are encouraged to keep a close eye on Alesana’s social media pages in the coming days to discover what is going to be included with Origins. This limited edition collection will be available to purchase via the Revival Recordings website this Black Friday.

Nashville rocker Charlie Bonnet III has released a brand new single and music video, titled 'Waiting On Time,' taken from his recently released studio EP, Sinner With A Song.  The record was co-produced, mixed, and mastered by L.A. Guns mastermind Tracii Guns, and features Tracii on B3 organ.

The video, filmed by the Nashville based production company Luminous Midnight Films, tells the story of a psycho ex girlfriend who is stalking the band.  "I usually leave it to the listener to interpret a song's meaning, but the story line to this video is based on true events," laughs Charlie.  "I actually wrote 'Waiting On Time' fifteen years ago, and made a very primitive acoustic demo of it back then" he states.  "It never fit the context of my other full band records, but was perfect for the Sinner With A Song EP, so we recorded it.  It's been a fan favorite live, and we knew it had to be the first video from the record."

Closing in on three decades in the trenches of the music business, Charlie Bonnet III is a working man's songwriter, with an ability to adapt and survive in the always changing industry.  He first landed on the national radar in the early 90's as the frontman for the Nashville based rock band, Disarray, releasing five studio albums, and logging thousands of road miles in an old van.  When that project fizzled, Bonnet re-invented himself as a solo artist, releasing a string of independent records.

Charlie's latest effort, Sinner With A Song, caught the attention of the international press due to the involvement of rock guitar hero Tracii Guns.  "I basically went down to Memphis to see Tracii jam with his solo band, and after the gig I asked him if he would help me on this record, and he agreed to do it.  It was really that simple" states Bonnet.  "It is surreal when I think about it, because as a kid I had L.A. Guns posters on my wall, had all their cassette tapes, watched them on MTV, and all of that.  I lived in a podunk nowhere town, and would dream of one day being like my heroes, making records and travelling around playing rock n roll.  Now it has all come true.  It's on a much smaller scale than what I had dreamed, but my dream has come true" he says with a hint of sarcasm and a laugh.

Charlie Bonnet III is now on the road playing live with his power trio, The Folkin' Gasholes.

A vocal harmony group consisting of 6 sisters (ages 17 – 27), Cimorelli has gone from homeschooled kids living in a small town outside of Sacramento, CA to touring the world, winning a Teen Choice award, and accruing over 4 million subscribers on YouTube with over 1 billion views.

This past Friday, October 27th, Cimorelli released their new album “Sad Girls Club,” a collection of songs that are a reaction to fan letters which voiced experiences with depression, eating disorders and domestic discord.

“Our fans are sending us letters and messages on social media with stories of self-harm and family problems, and we wanted to connect with them on a deeper level,” says Katherine Cimorelli. “We realized our music could be so much more than just fun pop songs.”

Amy, Christina, Dani, Katherine, Lauren and Lisa Cimorelli put their vulnerabilities and insecurities center stage on their new album. “We want to have an emotional, vulnerable and powerful experience with our fans so we bared our souls.”

New songs “Cars + Parking Lots," “If It Isn’t You” and “BAD” are just some of the tracks that touch on the sisters’ own experiences with unrequited crushes, insecurity, loneliness, longing, infatuation and the eternal quest for true love.

With “Sad Girls Club,” Cimorelli created an album of celebratory and vulnerable songs that say it's okay to express yourself, you are not alone, and pain is ok – it’s what makes us human.

“Expressing yourself through all of your joy and pain is not only a beautiful thing, it's an essential part of life,” adds Katherine.

Innovative and strong-willed young women, Cimorelli have full creative control of their career. Since 2015, the sisters have started their own record label, released 2 albums of original songs, toured Europe, South America and North America, and wrote and published their first book “Lessons Learned,” a heartfelt book of advice for teenage girls.

“We’re challenging ourselves to create without limits, and there’s no doubt that our new record is our most innovative, creative and powerful project yet.”

On Friday, October 27, Linkin Park honored the life of their friend and band mate, Chester Bennington with a powerful and cathartic celebration at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. It was the first time the five band members performed on stage together since Chester's passing on July 20, 2017. The one-night-only historic event was streamed live, exclusively on Tencent's QQ Music in China and on YouTube in the rest of the world.

At its peak, the stream drew 1.4 million concurrent viewers worldwide and within 24 hours, the concert topped the YouTube Trending Chart and has generated more than 5.5 million views and counting to date. See the show here: YouTube.com/LinkinPark.

Thirty guest artists accompanied Linkin Park on stage to perform 31 songs over the course of 3 hours in front of a packed house of fans crying, celebrating, and singing. Even amongst the powerhouse roster of guests, fan voices resounded the loudest, carrying every word of "Numb" and "In The End" to the heavens and back. Guests included:  Alanis Morissette, Zedd, blink-182, Steve Aoki, Julia Michaels, Machine Gun Kelly, Kiiara, Bebe Rexha, Gavin Rossdale [Bush], Tom Dumont, Adrian Young, and Tony Kanal, Jonathan Davis [Korn], Sydney Sierota [Echosmith], Jon Green, M. Shadows and Synyster Gates [Avenged Sevenfold], Daron Malakian and Shavo Odadjian [System of a Down], Ryan Key [Yellowcard], Deryck Whibley and Frank Zummo [Sum 41], Oli Sykes [Bring Me The Horizon], Jeremy McKinnon [A Day To Remember], Taka Moriuchi [ONE OK ROCK], Steven McKellar [Civil Twilight], Ilsey Juber, Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh [Julien K].

Midway through the show, Mike Shinoda took the stage solo to perform the new song "Looking For An Answer" - penned a week after his bandmate's passing. Over cinematic piano chords, he captured the pervasive sentiment of speechlessness shared by everyone in attendance through each lyric and melody.

Prior to the spectacular finale of "Bleed It Out," Bennington's wife Talinda delivered an uplifting and thought provoking speech about her husband and the importance of mental health. She also revealed the launch of 320, named after Chester's March 20 birthday, to make access to mental health resources easier. For more information, visit www.ChangeDirection.org.

About the evening, Mashable wrote, "The band, joined by a laundry list of famous friends orchestrated a truly beautiful and cathartic tribute concert that was more than words," and Billboard concluded, "If anything, this night of revolving guest musicians had shown that Linkin Park's music can adapt - just as the band itself has over the course of seven studio albums."

Linkin Park band members personally contributed their profits from the show to the One More Light Fund, which supports Bennington's favorite Music For Relief program by bringing solar suitcases - solar electricity kits - to hospitals and health clinics without electricity. The fund will also shine a light on mental health; supporting individuals and families coping with mental and emotional struggles.

Linkin Park announced a global partnership with Mercedes-AMG earlier this year. Bennington played a key role in bringing the partnership together, and significant financial support was contributed in his honor by Mercedes-AMG. State Farm, Minerd Foundation and Bayern Munich Football Club also made generous donations to Music For Relief and the One More Light Fund. An excess of $1 million was raised through sponsorship pledges, band and individual donations, and merchandise sales so far.

Glass House Point have released their brand new EP, “Midnight Appetite.” The record embodies a new, bolder sound for the band, who made the decision to explore a rather dramatic, symphonic concept. The band’s sound is centered around a 4-piece lineup backed by crisp harmonies, synths, and string ensembles. Overall the sound is sophisticated, yet untamed — a quite beautiful contradiction.

“Midnight Appetite” follows the release of two late summer singles - the Spotify hit “Creatures,” which recently hit 20,000 streams, and it’s powerful follow up, “Polaris,” both of which are featured on “Midnight Appetite”. They will embark a promotional tour in early November, aptly titled “The Midnight Appetite Tour” to promote the record. About their new music, the band states:

“Our new music is, collectively, more thematic and focused than anything we’ve ever done. It’s us introducing what we have become and debuting ourselves on a bigger stage.”

Glass House Point is an indie-rock band hailing from the tropics of Central Florida: a place riddled with abundant sunshine and torrential rainfall. The band formed during the particularly stormy Summer of 2013 and has since cultivated a sound that completely defies the expectations of East Coast music culture.

Ambient swell and soothings lulls put Glass House Point’s music into a category of its own: a category that has yet to be explored by today’s indie artists. The band’s past ventures include extensive US tours and the release of their debut record Love Lives in Dark Places (2016). Most recently, Glass House Point has recorded their sophomore EP with Grammy-nominated engineer & producer, Aaron Gandia. Glass House Point recently embarked on their last touring run of the “Think Fast; It’s Gone” Tour.

“Midnight Appetite” is available over HERE. Check out the tour dates embedded within the poster.

10 Second Songs' mastermind Anthony Vincent has taken a deliciously spooky turn with his newest video, "12 Songs in the Style of The Nightmare Before Christmas." Taking on not only a broad range of songs--from Screamin' Jay Hawkins "I Put A Spell on You" to Rob Zombie's "Dragula"--and creating individual pieces from the 'voices' of specific Nightmare Before Christmas characters, Vincent has taken on some of the most iconic Halloween party favorites and brilliantly filtered them with iconic Danny Elfman orchestration.

"This was my first attempt at tackling an orchestral sound for an entire piece/video, and it was a challenge, a lot of fun and something I'm interested in exploring more as I go. But in this case, I had a lot of fun because I love Halloween and anything Danny Elfman/Tim Burton. " - Anthony Vincent

About only a month ago is when "Salvage Dump", the first single off Offensive Ground's debut release "Nightmare King", would cause quite the buzz mentor. As it would be from this point onward that Offensive Ground would be a keeper of acts to watch out for, as all would know what this 12-track release would contain within....

With that said, the first round of tracks, including the title track, are pure heaviness, raw in your face amounts of energy that keeps your fists tight and clutched together throughout. As the other numbers that are opener "Salvage Dump" and "All Your Problems", are just as power hungry as the title track number. Just as fierce yet very intense through and through.

The next set of material comes with such tracks as "Letter from the Sea", "Agent of Chaos", and "Take You Back", are the clump of the latter that take the fierceness of intensity down a notch or so. For the music is still there, hard and heavy with all its might just more or less down sided to be toned down. Making it more easier to the ears and be an easy listening experience with heaviness placed throughout.

The rest of the album is more or so a combination of these enlisted tracks mentioned before, you get that mix-up of intensity, heaviness, raw power that makes it all worth wild of your listening experience. In short, the instrumentals and vocal chords used throughout this album, is just tops. There is no explanation of it really, it is just brutality to its finest content possible. That is really the best way to depict it as a wholesome round off of material.

Offensive Ground's debut efforts that is " Nightmare King", can be put simply as intense and raw enough to please all. Surely those of the heavier side of the music spectrum, will feel right at home with this availability of power and passion.

Female vocal chords, when first discovering the growling technique coming from such fine women fronting some of the most brutalizing rock/metal/punk acts around, there was no stopping or telling just where which female would go. This then brings us to the Ukraine terrain where Azathoth Circle calls home, with a little album that just so happens to be their debut release of sorts titled "Across The Wounds". At first glance with an opening track such as "Heart Of Fire", you get thrown a feeling of Arch Enemy, the same vocal chords in some senses, whereas other tracks like "Every Comes Real", and "My Own Shell", are more leaning towards the appeal of Tool crossed with Deftones. You get your bit of gloomy with dark appeal that is very epic. Hence the dark metal mixed with alternative twist and that is what you get overall upon this album and it's band it is about of course. "Teeny Voices", and "Black Magic", on the other hand, bring forth that same formula as "Heart Of Fire", had done. Except instead of so much screaming vocal appeal, the vocals are toned down a bit, allowing for the instruments to take more effect and pride. Their presents being more known with the heaviness and direction of approach of being pure heavy duty music that really draws you inward to it all really. That is simply how "Across The Wounds", plays itself out really. It hits you with certain tracks and music that just gets you. Hitting you in all the right places, that makes it all well worth it, when listening in on it all. With these songs here, that is all it takes. So if hard and heavy is what your deal is then look no more than Azathoth Circle, one act to follow.

Black Water Rising, like many if not most or at least a handful of acts, came from the formation from the depths of various other acts, coming together to be an act all its own. Thus, with two albums nestled under their belts as it were, "Electrified", is aimed to please, in the form of being more riff heavy with loads more song writing in the hook appeal with even catchier choruses that will suck you in all over again.

With that said and done, this album that is "Electrified", is a solid piece of work. Black Water Rising's first two previous releases were mentioned quite a bit, during their time frames, but this release has got that powerful punch. That kicker to keep your ticker pulsating long into overtime. In short, this album is just "it", hands down, loads of material with playable content that will keep that button mashing on the repeat button. Like for real take such tracks as "Obey", "Reality Check", "Don't Wait Up", and "Buried In Black", these are the real kick starters for this release as a whole. They give you the appeal to what to expect. During these song selections right here, you are given those heavy driven riffs, with song writing to please, lots of vocals with tones of pure hard rock essence. With great instrumental joy that makes the music loud and proud throughout.

If you dig hard rock acts, then surely Black Water Rising is a keeper for you. They bring to mind other acts such as Kill Devil Hill, Sevendust, Zakk Wylde, Buckcherry with some Sons Of Texas for good measure. That is how Black Water Rising's "Electrified" plays out to being. One hard rock release, with a ground shaking groove of a very good time. Lots of riffs, heavy instrumentals with even more vocals that you can withstand possible.

Miyuki Furtado is a multi-instrumentalist that has been playing tunes since he's been a veteran of the New York and Baltimore music scenes. He would branch outward with his musically driven talent, as it would form into a psych-folk-country act he can only title Divining Rod.

"Hemlock Blues / Love Come Tumbling", would be his latest works, as this single release of two tracks, would be quite the kicker. As it keeps true to the style he holds dear. His inspiration of the British folk, American country with country rock, it is how Divining Rod wanted to keep things going in terms of music. As it would sound like this even from his prior works. That pride of passion is true blue to his release right here, even if it is not much but still something. As such, this duo release of tunes, is just very easy listening, while even crafting together such a catchy beat of tone, it keeps the music flowing. The music taking in all of that inspiration that Divining Rod has taken into account all this time, but with these tracks it is done right yet so much better than past material.

Upon the track that is "Hemlock Blues" for instance, that song alone really brings out Divining Rod's abilities as this particular act. The music's set up is pretty flawless, keeping the music in check, with its catchy upbeat tone of art, with such fun it leaves you smiling. "Love Come Tumbling", is a lot like this other number, but it is more or less, its own deal. The track being pleasant yet surprising. The similarities may be alike, but the style is more so direct. It makes the music so much more entertaining it is so much more fun as well.

All in all though, Divining Rod's single release of "Hemlock Blues / Love Come Tumbling", is a piece of art, with music that is crafty, creative, and does not disappoint. It is forever alive and well, with such vivid uniqueness it makes the material that more catching to the ears.
