With their seventh studio album VINDICATE available in two weeks, Black Veil Brides are back with a collaboration the metal world never saw coming.

"Revenger" featuring Machine Head is the latest song (the seventh if you are keeping score) from the Spinefarm debut out on May 8. The track frames vengeance as fantasy and delusion, following a self-styled avenger convinced that retribution could deliver justice. "Revenger" featuring Machine Head further showcases the versatility of the band comprised of vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma.

"I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.  Because I was writing from someone else's voice, this felt like the kind of song that would be best served by having someone else's voice on the song. So, we brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style I thought was perfect for this. He is also someone who was one of the first real defenders of Black Veil Brides. In the early days when we were getting absolutely shit on by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us and has maintained that for years and years. I think it's one of my favorite songs on the record."

The song is available via all digital service providers HERE.

In an electrifying announcement that will cause anticipatory convulsions through the world of metal, Bay Area icons MACHINE HEAD have announced the first leg of their 'Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024’ tour. Forgoing their “An Evening With…” format for the first time in a decade, MACHINE HEAD will have LA’s cyber-metal masters FEAR FACTORY, Sweden’s ORBIT CULTURE, and Louisville, KY’s GATES TO HELL in tow guaranteeing your 2024 starts off as heavy as humanly possible!

'Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024’ will kick off with a “hometown” show for MACHINE HEAD, their first since 2020 in San Francisco on January 19th. Then the tour heads north with shows in the Pacific Northwest as well as eight shows in Canada. Other stops include Chicago, Orlando, and Houston before concluding in Los Angeles on February 24th at The Bellwether.

MACHINE HEAD’s founder Robb Flynn states, "Head Cases! This will be the greatest metal tour on earth! So stoked to be getting back on the road in America/Canada with 4 masters of soul-crushing heaviness and an absolutely earth-shattering bill. Fear Factory has long been our brothers-in-arms, pioneers, and innovators of a sound that had yet to exist. Orbit Culture are the fast-rising Swedish modern metal maniacs bringing their unique spin to the world, and Gates To Hell absolutely blew my mind at Milwaukee Metalfest with their sheer savage brutality. North America, we’re ready to crush skulls, crush beers, and crush everything in our path!

FEAR FACTORY's Dino Cazares comments, “We are honored to be touring with the mighty Machine Head. We came up in the metal scene together and both bands have stamped their mark in modern metal, plus Robb has been a good friend of mine for close to 30 years. We are fucking excited for the metal fans to see this amazing package and we can’t wait to get out there. Let’s Fucking Rage!"

Says ORBIT CULTURE, "It is such an honor for us to be going on tour with Machine Head and Fear Factory across North America, we look forward to bringing you all our brand of metal. Beware of the antlers North America!”

GATES TO HELL comments, “Machine Head was one of the bands that inspired Gates to Hell to form. They’re a personal favorite to several of us. Out of all the tours we’ve had the opportunity to be a part of over the past year, this is definitely the one we’ve been most excited for. Very excited to share the stage with Machine Head, Fear Factory, and Orbit Culture.”

This tour promises to be an unforgettable experience for all metalheads in North America. Prepare for an onslaught of sonic intensity as these 4 bands unite for what will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about metal tours for years!

Last year, Bay Area metal icons MACHINE HEAD unleashed their incendiary 10th studio album, ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN. Today, the band releases the music video for the track 'ARRØWS IN WØRDS FRØM THE SKY'. Following the release of their 10th full-length album “ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN” to staggering 10/10 reviews across the board and Top 10 chartings across the globe, MACHINE HEAD will embark on an 18-date trek across the U.S.. The Electric Happy Hour (Live) tour will kick off on May 15th in Ventura, CA, and will make its way to Des Moines, Fort Wayne, and Detroit before ending in Los Angeles on June 9th.

Says MACHINE HEAD founder Robb Flynn, “Really stoked to be heading out in America again, the last tour had so many moments that were so strong and just beyond life affirming!"

Continues Flynn, "It makes me super proud that we have stayed the path playing these intimate venues doing 2 and 1/2 to 3 hour 'Evening With-style shows' for the last 8 years.  These shows are incredibly rewarding for us as musicians and to people who come out to just go fucking nuts with us.  Eight years ago the idea was to provide OUR PEOPLE with an experience no other metal band was/is doing right now, and somehow this crazy idea stuck! Me personally... I’m getting really bored of going to see a band headline for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or trudge 50 miles down to the amphitheater to pay $40 for parking and $15 bucks for beer to see a show, so being able to offer something unique in this day and age feels really good.”

"We're especially looking forward to the EHH format with Sir Vogg joining us on this upcoming tour. In reality, I see it becoming even a bit more free-form, you might get 5 songs off of 'The Blackening,' you might get 5 songs off of 'Burn My Eyes,' you might get 5 cover songs! The setlist has changed a little from day to day, and the beer always flows, so come down a bang with us for Electric Happy Hour (Live)!"

More U.S. dates are being announced soon Head Cases, so if you don’t see your city now, stay tuned!

Machine Head will be releasing their ninth full-length album "Catharsis" via Nuclear Blast Entertainment on January 26, 2018. Included as a digipak edition as a live concert release with full on 21-track live performance that was filmed at The Regency Ballroom venue in San Francisco, California back in 2015. Check out the live video for one of the tracks called "Ten Ton Hammer", that has been a set list staple that has been living on since the 1997 album's release of which it came from "The More Things Change". Check it right HERE.

Machine Head's crushing yet cinematic new video for the title track to their upcoming album Catharsis, out January 26, 2018 has it all.

Butoh dance is literally and figuratively the dance of death and pain.

Born from Hiroshima/Nagasaki post-World-War-II-era Japan, the dance was created around the radioactive wasteland left behind in the wake of the nuclear bomb being dropped. Dancers would paint themselves in ash and take on a gaunt, deathly look. Facial expressions are agonizing and the body language is often deformed and contorted, expressing the pain and suffering that was a direct result of atomic warfare.

Frontman Robb Flynn explains, "'Catharsis' was a tricky concept to translate to a visual. How do you express somebody's catharsis? Frasier, the director, brought up the Butoh dance concept and it tied in so well into the idea of what catharsis could be. And when the Butoh dancers began performing for the video, we were blown away. Their expressions were so pained, almost horrifying, and yet very sad; it was extremely moving."

The other side of Machine Head's "Catharsis" video recounts the experiences of mental asylum patients. Oftentimes, in the '50s and '60s, people went through traumatic and regrettable experiences, and those vivid photos still linger today.

Flynn continues, "On a personal level, I related to this aspect. My uncle Jimmy lived with us for years while growing up. He had experienced some pretty severe drug testing when he was younger and didn't come out of it very well. For the rest of his life, he would do things like not eat for seven days straight and talk to Jesus all day. It was a trip to grow up with that at home. So, we took these disparate elements and turned them into a very cinematic and psychedelic visual to express that."

Furthermore, Flynn said, "We love making videos now. There used to be a bunch of rules and around what you could and couldn't do in a music video. Most of it was a boring performance, with us 'pretending' to play and sing the song. Now, it's like making a crazy, whacked-out movie. You can get weird and strange and have a blast. We are super proud of how well this video tuned out!"

Check out the video of the song over HERE.

It is with great pride and excitement that Machine Head announce Jared MacEachern as their new bass player.  Jared has already begun rehearsals for the upcoming Rockstar Mayhem U.S. summer festival tour and will soon relocate from North Carolina to Northern California to begin pre-production for Machine Head's upcoming 8th studio release.

Some fans might remember MacEachern from 2007's The Black Tyranny Tour, playing with his previous band Sanctity.  Machine Head, challenged to find a fill-in bass player for the North American tour after an injury sidelined their then-4-stringer, also found themselves in need of someone to sing harmony with singer/guitarist Robb Flynn.  Flynn remembers, "We had locked in Brandon Sigmund of local boys Hostility to play bass on that tour, but we soon realized we'd need someone to hit the high harmonies.  Our A&R guy Monte Conner recommended Jared since he was already on the tour, and that ended up being a great call.  Jared flew out a few days before the tour and rehearsed with us and did great.  What was most impressive about the whole thing was that he was doing double duty - opening for Machine Head with his band at the time Sanctity, and then later singing with us.  He would stay sober until after our set, and often get in the van and drive all night.  His seriousness and dedication was awesome to see and it stuck with us".

Earlier this year, Machine Head conducted an extensive search for candidates through various channels, the most fruitful of which proved to be video submissions.  Sifting through more than 400 videos, the band personally reviewed and evaluated everyone's performances, including MacEachern, who made the short list without a second thought.  Lead guitarist Phil Demmel recalls, "There were dozens of amazing players, and it was interesting to watch each one take on our tunes.  One of our biggest criteria for this gig was to be able to sing the high harmonies.  That was our litmus test.  And Jared passed with flying colors."

After reviewing all of the submissions, the band narrowed down the 400+ candidates to a short list of 7, each of whom took a trip to Oakland to perform a handful of songs in person and spend the day hanging with the band.  Remembers Drummer Dave McClain, "Jared came in to the audition and just killed it!  Besides being able to nail the bass and vocal harmonies, he also had the vibe and personality to make it feel like we were a BAND again. It was a great feeling and we all knew he was the guy."

MacEachern first picked up concert bass at 12 and around the same time, discovered metal.  Jared recalls, "I heard the song 'Unforgiven' and really liked it.  The next day my friend gave me 'Kill 'Em All' and it was over.  I became completely enamored with all the metal bands of that time; Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera, but when it came to bass, it was all about Cliff Burton, he was, and is my dude."  With a brief stint at the Brevard School for Music Performance, Jared has consistently played bass for the past 22 years, most notably in Sanctity, where oddly enough, the band needed a guitar player. "That was purely out of necessity" he explains, "I'd been a bass player, but that gig opened up and I gave it a shot on the 6-stringer."

After extensive global touring with Sanctity and the birth of his daughter in 2007, the band's release from their label ignited Jared's sense of responsibility and he quit the band to focus on her.  But music stayed a part of his life and he continued to jam locally throughout the south with death metal bands From A Dig and Telic, until he saw Machine Head were in need and thought he'd try out.

Frontman Robb Flynn reflects, "We really wanted a guy that was hungry for this, someone who could live and breathe this with us.  Dave would joke around that we didn't want to get someone too green that'd be like 'oh my god, is this a dressing room?!', but we also didn't want someone who was too jaded by the whole thing and 'been there done that'.  We thought the perfect guy would be someone who'd paid some dues, who had done 9 or 10 crummy van tours, and wasn't broken by that, but inspired to keep going and play music, and in many ways that was Jared.  I mean hell, the guy's only rode in a bus for two nights, one of which was with us!  It brings a really cool level of appreciation to the table, and it shows where his heart's at"

Jared enthuses, "I'm ready to get to work!  This tour is going to kick ass and the new tunes are heavy as shit! I'm SO looking forward to making good music with good dudes!"

Machine Head announced over the weekend that bassist Adam Duce has left the band.

“Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors,” say the band via a statement. “The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and has begun the writing process for the follow-up to 2011′s Unto The Locust.”

Adam was a founding member of the band, leaving frontman Robb Flynn as the sole original member. Machine Head’s new album will drop later this year via Roadrunner.

Drummer Dave McClain talks to me about his band's seventh full-length album "Unto the Locust" (2011) and how they are in their fifth month into touring on it and how much more touring they have in store between now and next year.

1. Can you tell me about the feature you did with DRUMMagazine?

Dave: Yeah basically it talked about the opening song on the record called “I Am Hell”. The guy talked about the song and breaks it down writing out the drum music for it so we did that and it was cool it kinda gives other drums an insight into what you’re thinking when you’re writing the drum parts and constructing a song. Giving a background as to what you’re doing and how things are done.

2. What is the question you are asked the most during an interview?

Dave: If there was a lot of pressure when writing a new record. No matter what record it is, it’s always was there a lot of pressure with the writing period.

3. Did you ever think that Machine Head would have been around for this long?

Dave: I don’t think we’re completely shocked or anything but I would say that I’d always see the band going somewhere and especially Rob it was one of his hopes and thoughts for the band but more than anything we’re just really appreciative that we have been around for this long. We have seen bands that have been together like 16 years ago and then last only a few years and now trying to make a comeback, and for us our careers are going up and it’s just mind blowing for us and we had hoped would always happen.

4. What's new in the recording of your music?

Dave: Nope not at all we’re barely 5 months into our touring cycle of our latest record so we haven’t been any group writing or new stuff right now. Me, Rob, and Phil are just writing on own but we never start the whole writing process until we know the whole touring cycle is done then we get back into the studio and constructing things together.

5. How do you rate your live performance ability?

Dave: We’re not afraid to play before or after anybody. For us we’ve been through and toured with some of the best metal bands around we’ve opened for Pantera and played with Metallica so whenever we go out we go with a mindset we go out there to win over their fans. If someone opens for us that just gives us that determination to outdo them so we consider ourselves one of the best live bands out there.

6. What has not been said your latest album?

Dave: hmmm I don’t know we’ve had great reviews for the record and people love it. I guess that’s a hard question to answer.

7. What are your upcoming tour plans?

Dave: Upcoming stuff is that we’re going out in May and doing a week in Europe with Metallica then afterwards we’re going back to the states and then a couple of weeks later returning to Europe to do all of the festivals out there. Then come back and go back out in the fall and then see what happens.

8. You guys have toured a lot but is there a spot you guys haven't set foot in?

Dave: It’s getting easier to go to places that bands 10 years ago haven’t been to and we’ve done so many places but one place we haven’t gone to yet is Mexico and Mexico City, China,
Philippines and there are a ton of other places we haven’t gone too and it’s hard to find a promoter in those places but a lot of times it’s not really that easy. We’ll see what happens with the touring cycle and see where we’ll end up next and get our music out there and heard.

9. What else can we expect from you guys in 2012?

Dave: Just a whole lot of touring, we’re pretty early into the tour cycle and our last album’s touring cycle went on for about 3 years and we’re not sure how long this one will go but there’s always going back to certain places 2 to 3 times. So we got more to come going back to Japan and Australia and the states again just tour everywhere and anywhere.

10. Anything else you’d like to say?

Dave: Not really, check out our new record if you haven’t already and we’ll see you on tour.
