Former Sister Sin vocalist LIV SIN is currently in a secret location working on her debut solo album which is being produced by longtime U.D.O. bassist, Fitty Wienhold. The as yet untitled album sees Liv working with two Swedish musicians in Per Bjelovuk on drums and Patrick Ankermark on guitars. The album will see a worldwide release in early 2017 through Swedish label, Despotz Records, with extensive touring expected after the album is released.

Liv says of the signing, "To me, signing with Swedish label Despotz feels great because I know they work a lot both internationally and here in Sweden.  I think Despotz will give me the best start for my new band and for a successful future".

Omer Akay from Despotz adds “Liv Sin's presence as a strong front woman and her unique voice didn't go unnoticed here at Despotz, and now it´s finally a dream come true to work with Liv Sin and take her music beyond the masses”.

From the dark beaches of south Sweden, Liv ”Sin” Jagrell emerged as a major force as the vocalist for hard rockers Sister Sin. Throughout their 13 year career, Sister Sin sold thousands of albums and toured the world with high profile tours supporting the likes of Slayer and King Diamond on the Rockstar Mayhem festival tour, as well as being a part of the Revolver magazine ”Hottest Chicks in Metal” tour. Sister Sin toured relentlessly for over a decade across Europe and North America garnering an intensely loyal following of rockers that craved the band’s aggressive and melodic brand of hard rock.

When Sister Sin called it quits at the end of 2015, Liv knew that she had much more to give to her fans. From this, LIV SIN was born.

Five year old act The Fame Riot, is a timeless, glam, boyz and girlz duo that is just getting started, already releasing a single and video for "Heart Stray", playing shows, with further plans on doing more music and shows to follow suit. The duo took the time to discuss their time so far and what plans they have ahead.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Liz: Me and Shazam have been playing music together now, as an act, for over 5 years. We’ve been THE FAME RIOT for just over 3 years. We are and always will be a musical duo. But we also perform with live members as our backing band.

Shazam: The vast plane of inter-dimensional travel contributed greatly to our exploration of sound. Shazam and Liz shared the womb of trans-galactic speech and warmth. There have only ever been 2 members. The core of THE FAME RIOT is its reliance on a sharing of passion and love. It is both the Progenesis of our species as well as the antithesis of an evolutionary process. It exists within and without. The end is the beginning.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Liz: We used to call ourselves MOONJUICE. Unfortunately, several other people had also chosen that name for their businesses, cover bands, websites, etc. So we were forced to change names, based on what we knew we needed.

Shazam: The name is an identification of our freekz as well as a tongue-in-cheek reference to our society's obsession with fame and what that concept entails. We are all a part of this metamorphosis. It is all inclusive, and yet exists as an exclusive entity, intent on expanding its vision and life. Hence, it's slight comparison to a religion. Though we prefer the togetherness of spirit, rather than the separation of a crowd.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Liz: We live in a cloudy-ass magical forest land called the PNW. We have an apartment in a city called Tacoma, just south of Seattle.

Shazam: We reside in many places. The Pacific Northwest is our scene. Our chalice of communion and also our alter of inspiration. Though we stride through a skyline saturated in drone, our hearts reside in the open expanse of the forests. Isolation is the parallel line between blessing and curse.

4. How would you describe your style?

Liz: Passionate love. Gourmet organic food (non-GMO). Glam. Boyz and Girlz. Fashion. Timeless.

Shazam: Our style is simply a reflection of our own spirits. I wouldn't consider it fashion as much as it is a soul mirror. Much like a mood ring if those bloody things really worked.

5. What can you tell me about your single and video for "Heart Stray”?

Liz: It’s the very first song we’ve ever released. We recently just signed our first deal with Another Century. We’ve just released the music video on YouTube, go check it out!

Shazam: A beautiful song with a beautiful message. A reference to soar above the expectations and restraints of the negativity (or negative people) that seek to usurp your freedom for the sole purpose of eviscerating your individuality. We believe that in order to truly fly high, you must put aside the straight jacket of humanity. Accepting the spiritual aspect of who we are is essential to finding meaning within this physical realm. The video was a joy! What a collaboration between a band and it's freek tribe.

6. What else have you released so far and do you have any new music in the works?

Liz: Nothing else has been released yet. But we’re constantly creating and I know there will be something new, before we know it.

Shazam: We released an EP titled "Dust Funk". It was only printed twice. We felt extremely privileged to place this record into the hands of die-hard TFR fans. The songs were really a labor of love and persistence in the face of growing pains. So much music is on the way. SO MUCH. The era of Dust Funk was a birthing, and the development of our future is only a matter of timing.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Liz: We’re still working out details, but we always try to get around and play as much as possible. No official tours booked at this point in the game!

Shazam: WE WILL BE TOURING THE MARS/JUPITER CIRCUIT DURING THE TWILIGHT MONTHS.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Liz: Take over the minds of the youth.

Shazam: A man's plans are a fool's plans. Luckily, we are aliens. Our calendars are booking up fast. We sincerely hope that you find a way to see us live in a more intimate setting before we begin the galactic stadium tour... cause there really is no exchange for the being right in front of the stage with green blood flying everywhere.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Liz: THEFAMERIOT.COM.

Shazam: You can hear our radio single "Heart Stray” nationally this summer/fall and you will have to wait for us to order/create more merchandise. We sell out far too quickly to stay in stock baby.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Liz: Our style. Our voice(s). How much it invades their personal space.

Shazam: I would love if the listener came away from our music with a sense of love, positivity, and hope. Those are general ideas, but I believe it is our job to reach out to the broken individual, the hurting soul, and the lost cluster of atoms. To give direction and purpose to someone is the epitome of reward.

Pop-metal band Alesana has announced that they will release a book entitled "Annabel" on August 31st. The short novel will tell the story that the band's three concept albums are based around. Vocalist/guitarist Shawn Milke and his sister Melissa narrated a reading of the first chapter, and director Jason Ligon turned it into a lyric video that premiered on Tattoo.com. Check it out HERE.

"This story has been a work in progress for nearly seven years," says Milke. "It began when Dennis and I decided to tell our own story through the albums of Alesana. It eventually grew into an album trilogy and now, finally, a short novel. Creating this abstract universe and telling the story of Annabel has been, in every way possible, both challenging and rewarding. It is an accomplishment that still stuns me to this day. Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey."

Pre-order "Annabel" and you will also receive a special edition of the Alesana album Confessions. The special edition includes the single "Fatima Rusalka" which has previously only been released digitally as a single (never on a CD) and one brand new unreleased song. Place your order HERE.

Spaztic Robot a side project of Robbie of UK rock group Rebel City Radio. Spaztic Robot is something totally different. So much difference that it doesn't even have a genre to base itself off, it just describes itself simply as "Mongrel", or as Slap Magazine says "Songs/Stories inspired by two dead dogs. For those unafraid to embrace the unknown, Spaztic Robot may well be for you".

That said, this album is calling itself "Skip Rope Rhymes" consisting of 11-tracks, all varying from sounding a mix between industrial, techno, rock, and some metal, it just offers a tad of everything. Such songs that stick out has to include "The Ants!", "Confetti Crowns", and "At Daggers Drawn". These songs just make this release, more interesting, they possess this tone of music, that really captures the sound, it makes the music move to the beats, and makes it flow, like it will never end, type of sense.

All in all this album, is totally something different and sounds a lot like nothing you have ever heard before. It's just a good blend of little of this and little of that. It's a mixture of something you wouldn't expect to hear, and that's what makes it that more interesting and entertaining of sorts.

Rock act, Trapt, have been around for 20 years now, best known for such hits as "Headstrong", "Echo", and "Still Frame". During those 20 years, they have released countless albums, toured here and there, and have written and recorded what will be their seventh album "DNA" a more in-depth and deeper album than their previous content. Bassist Peter Charell or "Pete" discusses this release, their 20 year status and more.

1. You guys have been a band for nearly 20 years, so did you end up doing anything in celebration of that mile stone?

Pete: We started the band in 1997. We have been a band for almost 19 years. Maybe we'll have a surprise for our 20 year anniversary.

2. What accomplishments are you most proud of as a band?

Pete: We are proud to still be a band that is touring and releasing records. We are proud of all of our album releases.

3. What's it like releasing your seventh album to date, can you tell me a little bit about it?

Pete: It's great to be releasing a new album. We produced and recorded this one ourselves and are very excited for everyone to hear it.

4. What can fans expect from the new Trapt album?

Pete: This album is a continuation of Trapt's progression as a band. DNA has the Trapt sound, but might be a little more organic and deeper than our previous releases.

5. What was the writing and recording process like for the album?

Pete: The writing process was pretty much the same as all the other records for this one. We recorded and produced this album ourselves at The Omen Room in Garden Grove, CA. Peter Charell (bass player) works there and handled the engineering duties.

6. When did you start writing for this album? How was the songwriting process different/similar
to previous Trapt albums?

Pete: We wrote a few songs starting back in 2014 and then the rest came together in 2015 right before we went in the studio. Having the connection with the studio enabled us to track songs that we wrote, go home write more and then come back and record those.

7. Why do you think people should check out your new album once released?

Pete: People should check out this record because it's still Trapt, but is deeper/more organic than the previous stuff.

8. What do you think of your fans?

Pete: Our fans are amazing. We couldn't do what we do without them.

9. What does next year hold for Trapt?

Pete: We are releasing our record this year and playing tons of shows.

10. Describe Trapt in three words.

Pete: A rock band.

Monster High's next movie will be coming Spring 2017! It is called "Electrified" with a doll line accompanying it. What's the story?

"Electrified: A state or feeling of intense emotion. That sums it up, basically. This adventure begins with an explosion from Clawdeen dream, a clothing line that would unite the normies and Monsters. All of us, your monster-friends wanted to help. Fortunately, I realized that the power to make her dream was right in my screws. A touch and energy of all was amplified! Sure, there was Moanica, trying to ruin everything, but with our amazing monstrous powers and the help of a powerful new friend we managed to save the day. Oh, and we also have new friends! Do not miss the craziest adventure Monster High, it will be positively electrifying!"

Expect it's release this Spring! Check out a teaser video HERE as well as concept artwork of the ghouls and the movie logo below.

Please note "Ghouls and Mansters, remember that this is only an animated script of conceptual art, it is a pre-final design and animation look. The characters and the film will look like. It's just the style of the sketches. Aahh! And do not forget to press the button HD."

The movie's design will likely look a lot like "Welcome to Monster High". Not returning to the previous style that was featured in "Great Scarrier Reef" "13 Wishes", "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love?" etc.

Pennsylvania hard rock band Kevlar has released a video for "Oblivion," off of their release Home Is Where The Heart Is EP. "Oblivion" was directed by Zach Kubiak and filmed in Erie, PA and has been premiered via BlankTV.

“This song is about struggling with your emotions and wanting them to just leave and thinking that feeling nothing would be better than feeling everything, but finding thats not the case. Its easy to run and hide from what you’re feeling in life but that can never be a permanent solution, and I learned that the hard way over these past few years. This video showcases the emotion put to the music and the lyrics between all four of us. We hope you can see it, too. Enjoy!” - Kelci Margaret

"Love the aggression this track has with the wicked riffs and breakdowns.” - Jake Flaugh

"I love everything about this song. It's one of my favorite songs I've ever been a part of and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.” - Anthony Sanzo

"Oblivions musical technicality mixed with it’s melodic flow makes it such a fun song to play and listen to.” - Nick Sanzo
