Chimaira Guitarist Joins SFU!

Tampa, FL Death metallers, SIX FEET UNDER, has delivered the following update regarding the bands line up:

We would like to announce and welcome the addition of guitarist Rob Arnold (Chimaira) to the SIX FEET UNDER family! Just wanted to give you a SIX FEET UNDER band update and let you all know that we would like to announce our good friend Rob Arnold will be joining SFU as 2nd rhythm guitarist for upcoming touring duties, as well as collaborating on the new CD.

Chris Barnes comments; "I couldn't be happier about the new songs and line up! Rob and myself have been collaborating on new songs along with the bands new drummer, Kevin Talley (www.drummerkevintalley.com) for the past few months. We are all feeling really excited about the bands future, and the raw intensity of the songs that we have created together so far. THIS IS THE HEAVIEST MOST EXCITING MATERIAL THAT IVE WORKED ON SINCE THE BLEEDING, AND IM STOKED THAT ROB WILL BE HELPING OUT CREATING THIS CD WITH US! We've all known each other for a while and we're really looking forward to continue writing the new CD and future tours. We are committed to taking SIX FEET UNDER to the next level of brutality!!!"

Rob Arnold comments; "It's been an amazing honor and opportunity to have been called upon by one of my biggest idols, Chris Barnes!! SIX FEET UNDER and the Barnes era Cannibal stuff had enormous effects on me as a young musician, and still do to this day. In 1996, I was a kid in the front row screaming my head off to 'Lycanthropy' and 'Torn to the Bone'…and now here I am, being asked to play the songs on stage with the band! Dreams do come true!!! And the stuff we've been writing absolutely RIPS! Watch out!!"

Recent "The Celebrity Apprentice" winner and Donald Trump favorite, rocker Bret Michaels, currently recuperating from heart surgery, will reunite with all original POISON bandmates for a 25th-anniversary tour tentatively titled "Glam - A - Gedon 25". For the first time ever POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE will co-headline a select date summer tour with special guests the NEW YORK DOLLS.

Although several controversial statements have been made in the press by certain members of MÖTLEY CRÜE vowing this tour would never happen, that is simply not the case. Fans of both bands have spoken and want the tour to happen and both MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON have agreed. Concert promoters in these select cities state that the buzz is unbelievable for both the POISON dates as well as the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour. No doubt this will be the rock tour of the summer.

Tickets for the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour will go on sale March 18. POISON plan to kick off their 25th-anniversary "Glam -A – Gedon 25" tour in Tupelo Mississippi at the Bancorp South Arena Wednesday May 25. Michaels will then continue solo, playing Thursday, May 26 in Ft. Walton Beach where he will perform for the fans and troops as he did last Memorial Day weekend. Michaels will rejoin POISON in Little Rock at the River Fest Amphitheater on Friday, May 27. Michaels will then perform solo at the Hard Rock in Biloxi on Saturday, May 28. Bret will rejoin POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE Sunday, May 29 at Rocklahoma. POISON will then continue on alone playing arenas from Memorial Day until rejoining MÖTLEY CRÜE in Dallas at the Starplex Amphitheater on Tuesday, June 7.

When reporters recently asked Bret Michaels if there was any bad blood between the bands, Michaels laughed: "There may be some friendly competition but there is no bad blood at all on my part. Nikki [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] and I have spoken several times on the phone recently and the conversations went great." Michaels continued, "Music is a universal language and I am extremely excited that this tour has come together as are the fans, they are truly going to see a great show. Honestly, I could care less about all the mudslinging, it gets nobody nowhere, and after all I have been through health wise in the last year, I am going to try to focus on what does matter which is the show, the fans, fun and personally throwing a hell of a backstage party."

Bret Michaels' solo tour will start March 19 when he appears at Muhammad Ali's "Celebrity Fight Night" alongside Kevin Costner, David Foster, Billy Crystal, Halle Berry and Reba McIntire and will continue up until the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour starts. The "Get Your Rock On" solo tour in support of the album of the same name will resume immediately following the select summer dates with MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON.

America's only hard-rock and heavy-metal award show is back for 2011! The third annual Revolver Golden Gods awards show presented by Epiphone will take place Wednesday, April 20, at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. The event will be televised on VH1 Classic on May 28. Tickets go on sale today Thursday, February 24, via Ticketmaster.

This year, hosting duties for the Golden Gods will be handled by WWE pro-wrestling legend and FOZZY frontman Chris Jericho. The nominees in eight different categories — plus the recipients of this year's prestigious "Golden God Award" sponsored by Bethesda Softworks upcoming video game "Hunted: The Demon's Forge" and the "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award" — were revealed today at a press conference held at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. Host Chris Jericho was on hand, along with Alice Cooper, Mick Mars (MÖTLEY CRÜE), Sebastian Bach, Wendy Dio (wife of Ronnie James Dio) and pro skateboarder Mike Vallely to announce the nominees.

Beginning today, fans everywhere can cast their vote to decide who will take home the awards for "Epiphone Best Guitarist," "Drum Workshop Best Drummer," "Best Vocalist," "Affliction Album of the Year," "Samson/Zoom Best Live Band," "Most Metal Athlete," "Best New Band" and "Eagle Rock Comeback of the Year." Voting starts today at RevolverMag.com and ends on April 1. The complete list of nominees in each category is listed below.

The 2011 Revolver Golden Gods awards show will feature one-of-a-kind special performances and collaborations onsite that honor both the past and future of heavy music. The "Golden God Award — which is given to one special honoree a year who embodies the spirit of hard rock and metal— will go to shock-rock godfather Alice Cooper, who is celebrating the reunion of the original ALICE COOPER group and their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. (In past years Revolver has honored metal legends Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST and Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH with the Golden God Award.) This year's recipient of the first-ever "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award" — renamed in honor of the late, great 2010 Best Vocalist Award winner — is none other than the Sunset Strip's most iconic band, MÖTLEY CRÜE. Presenters and attendees include Rob Zombie, Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of ALICE IN CHAINS, Vinnie Paul of PANTERA and HELLYEAH, Jamey Jasta of HATEBREED, former DREAM THEATER and AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer Mike Portnoy, Robb Flynn of MACHINE HEAD, Taylor Momsen of THE PRETTY RECKLESS, Brendon Small of DETHKLOK, master shredder Yngwie Malmsteen, and action sports stars Mike Vallely, Chris Cole, Jason Ellis, and Carey Hart, as well as members of MEGADETH, ANTHRAX, and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Expect more announcements soon.

Adding to the celebration, the Revolver Golden Gods awards show will include hard-rocking musical performances by the reunited original ALICE COOPER group (in their first L.A. appearance in nearly 40 years), LOADED (featuring Duff McKagan of GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER fame), DEVILDRIVER (who will lead an all-star BLACK FLAG tribute set featuring Jamey Jasta and many others), Danish "Elvis metal" group VOLBEAT, Chris Jericho's band FOZZY and fast-rising metalcore outfit ASKING ALEXANDRIA who will be joined by Sebastian Bach for a rousing rendition of the SKID ROW favorite "Youth Gone Wild". More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

"If you're a fan of hard rock and heavy metal, there's only one place to be on 4.20 this year — and it ain't your couch, with a bag of Doritos, watching The Lord of the Rings for the 57th time," states Revolver Editor in Chief Brandon Geist. "Everyone who is anyone in heavy music is going to be at the Revolver Golden Gods, and unlike pretty much every other award show, you, the fans, not only get to pick the winners, but you're also invited to the party. So vote for your favorite bands, get your tickets, and I'll see you there!"

Despite practicing and writing together the last two months WARBRINGER today make it publically official that Carlos Cruz (Hexen) is their new drummer. The delay in announcement was out of respect to their old drummer and Carlos’ former bandmates and there was no question about Carlos’ playing, songwriting or personality as the band ironically offered Carlos the spot in 2008.

"After years of putting forth nothing but blood, sweat, and tears into my tireless ambitions for playing music, I have finally found an outlet where no more time is wasted. It was flattering to have been approached by Warbringer the first time they made a personnel change in 2008, but this time around it couldn't have felt more like perfect timing,” states Carlos. “They're a collective group of humble, open-minded, down-to-earth guys who share the same fanaticism for music as I do and are the tightest musicians I have ever played with. I've never felt so welcomed and inspired to move forward. Even past members of the band have congratulated me and it feels very much like family, not just another band. From some recent serious downfalls in my personal life came this beautiful opportunity and I couldn't be happier. We'll be seeing all YOU Warbringers out on the road soon!"

Fans can see Carlos playing with the guys at his live debut in Mexico City on March 5th at the Eyescream Festival alongside Asesino, Anvil, Toxic Holocaust and Abigail Williams. WARBRINGER plan to record their third album in April with more live shows in May and June.

Whether you love him or hate him there is no telling as to where you will find him. Craig Owens has been making quite the buzz for himself since the cut from Chiodos and now focusing on his brand new project he always involved in some various project to pass his time. So now this new direction is the most reasonable one.

When it comes to Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Owens really sets his mind on this outlet and it alone, his band's debut release "D.R.U.G.S." really takes control possessing a creative edge that slaps you right in the face. After recruiting his friends (Matt Good, Aaron Stern, Nick Martin, and Adam Russell) to round off band and enlisting John Feldmann to run the boards. This album is filled with top notch aggression, opener “If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is”, is chorus protected with such rapid energy the guitar motive used is just flawless energy whilst Owens' dynamic screams never seems to quit.

"Graveyard Dancing", portrays a darker stance blending the era of Tim Burton meets pop/rock aggression really makes you think twice after listening to it. Whereas "Mr. Own Ate My Metal Worm", features a bridge like no tomorrow while 'I'm Here To Take The Sky", recaptures one of Owens' other projects Cinematic Sunrise. But that possessive edge presented beforehand is still present on “The Only Thing You Talk About” (once known as Thermacare) this tune has guitar riffs that constantly shred continuing right into its notorious breakdowns that fade to rest.

When it's all said and done Owens' lyrical context is clearly written out featuring efforts he's showcased before and will continue to express.

1967 would be the year that fear would be sunk into the lives of the living. The Fearless Vampire Killers was a film embedded with a love story one that would vanquish all of those living and those who were already dead. Thus this title would be taken into account for one London quartet claiming that they themselves aren’t exactly the undead but they try their best to kill those who are. So when it comes down to it what are they exactly? Well it’s simple they are the Fearless Vampire Killers!

They come from a world called Grandomina, it's a concept that they've come up with and want people to take what they want from the songs and apply it to their own lives, as the lyrics are metaphorical, and are a mask for real experiences both foretold and yet to be told.

Since the age of 15 the band had been playing with one another in other projects before developing their current project of two years, the Fearless Vampire Killers. People have called their style of music to be "Death-Pop" and they have to agree with that because it's what they do and they do it the best way possible.

“Palace in Flames”, is the single that jumped started the band and will continue to absorb the deaths, kills, and fearless nights of these Vampire killers.

1. Does the name Fearless Vampire Killers have anything to do with the 1967 film of the same name?

Laurence: Yes it does. As a kid my dad showed me the film and it really set my whole obsession with vampires in motion. It was also a great love story.

2. How long has the band been together and where are you guys from?

Laurence: This band's been together for about two years, but we've been playing in bands with each other since we were 15. We come from a place called the Waveney valley which forms the border between Suffolk and Norfolk. I guess our home town is Beccles, though Shane is actually from somewhere called Weston. We live together in our secret invisible castle in north London now.

3. What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

Laurence: We get asked this question all the time and it's really hard to answer as we're trying our best to fit in any box and make one of our own. People have called us death-pop and we think that kind of goes with what we do. When it comes to bands we're into, we're super into glam; Bowie, Queen, Roxy music, as well as a lot of punk, and hardcore stuff like Comeback Kid, Every Time I Die, and He Is Legend. We spend most free time we have watching films, so I think that theatrical influence really comes across in the songs.

4. How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

Laurence: Yeah http://fearlessvampirekillers.co.uk/ you can get a free mp3 of Palace in Flames on there and we almost always have someone online to talk too on Facebook.

5. Can you tell me about the music video you have for the song "Palace in Flames"?

Kier: In this band we have a very definite image we need to put across, so after scraping together our meagre effects, we shot it at this brilliant Victorian pumping station in south east London. We had a great time filming there and were even invited back to turn on the pump at this open day. It was AWESOME!

6. Have you had any record labels approach you guys with an offer or not yet?

Laurence: I'm not sure we fit into anyone’s slot at the moment; it's hard for them to see where we fit in where a lot of them are looking at the wrong jigsaw. What's more we're not really after a record contract, we just want to play shows and build our fan base organically, then if everything collapses we only fall a couple of feet.

7. What about the lyrical content does that deal with the whole Vampire thing or is it more than that?

Laurence: It's definitely more than that. Our songs all fit to a concept we've come up with about this world called Grandomina. But we really hope people can also take what they want from the songs and apply them to their own lives, as the lyrics are metaphorical, they're a mask for real experiences.

8. Are you guys Vampires? Or is that something we'd just have to figure out for ourselves?

Laurence: Not exactly... We try our best to kill them though.

9. What does the Fearless Vampire Killers have in store for this year?

Laurence: We've just finished a new E.P which we'll be releasing very soon. We've also set things into motion for our new video, so we're really looking forward to that. We've got some big plans, so let’s see where they go.

10. Do you have any last words?

Laurence: Thank you ever so much for taking the time to interview us; I guess we just want to tell everyone to watch out. The Heartataks are coming....

What’s the deal with bands self-titling their albums? Is there no motive in wanting to come up with a catchy over the top title? Especially if it’s your debut efforts you know you can do so much better. But as other bands would say self-titling their album is what describes them best. So in this case Wooden Jesus isn’t any different. Or are they?

As such this debut release is quite classy with a modern hard rock twist layered in between for instance "Soul Infection", express the similarity that was presented by Alice in Chains whilst adding an additional era of Soundgarden on top of it. It keeps the groove of the beat flowing never wanting to stop. Whereas “DNA”, maintains a heavier source of beat capturing the time of Pearl Jam’s 91 release “Ten”.

"Eating A Bullet", "Saviour', and "Four Letter Words", presume the same method as did “Soul Infection” consisting of that same source that Alice in Chains had given us except these tunes add a little more zest. As in guitar structure and drum technique which compel one another until they each slowly decease. Aside from these tunes the album mixes it up a bit towards the end by including a mix, rare, and acoustic supply to ease out those dreadful pains and aches.

Zach Lucero describes the sound of this album as huge! "It has a cool loose vibe but really edgy. We had a really specific sound we wanted for this album in mind and Jeff (Jeff Cloyes, producer) definitely got it. As far as work ethic between the demo and album not much changed, we slammed it out in 3 days like we did the demo the days were a little longer in the studio though."

Wooden Jesus’ source of music is heavily influenced with dramatic intensity that keeps the listener at ease yet constantly banging their head to the beat.

What is an illusion? The dictionary defines it as a distortion of the senses, revealing how the brain normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. So in other words it messes with your mind man. As such City Under Fire has created their first EP release entitled “Illusions”. Thus the whole deal of illusions is upon us. Without further doing so, City Under Fire is determined that this illusion becomes a reality.

1. Can you give our readers a brief history on City Under Fire with how you came together as a band?

CUF:  Jason S. and I (Jason F.) started this band 2 years ago with the intent of writing music that we loved playing live. Needless to say we went through a few line-up changes and have finally gotten the solidified line-up that we have right now.

2. Your debut EP is out. Can you give us a brief on it?

CUF: You can expect aggressive fast paced songs with catchy singing and intense screams.

3. Who decided which songs would go onto the record?

CUF: We all have the same input in this band and decided as a band.

4. How can City Under Fire fans get the EP?

CUF: They can grab them on iTunes, bigcartel, Amazon, and at our shows!

5. You have yet to be signed to a record label have you had any offers?

CUF: None as of yet but we are shopping around right now.

6. What CD's have you been listening to this week?

Jason S. - Norma Jean - Meridional
Jason F. - Travie Mccoy - Lazarus
Brian - Kanye West - My Dark Twisted Fantasy
Nick - Bruno Mars - Doo Wops and Hooligans
Chase - Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
Brendan - Arcade Fire - Neighborhood

7. If you weren't a musician what would you be?

CUF: Six guys that actually have money!

8. What's the best and worst thing about being a musician?

CUF:  The best thing would be talking to fans that love our music and meeting new people at shows.
The worst thing would be getting writers block when we are writing songs together.

9. A young fan comes up to you and tells you your music has moved them and they want to become a musician like you. What advice would you give them?

CUF: Basically to never give up and to have fun with it because that's the most important part!

10. What's the band's favorite song to play live?

CUF: It would definitely be Destroyer!

11. How about shows? Is City Under Fire doing any showcases or nothing yet?

CUF: We are actually going to be touring in March to Nevada, Arizona, and California. We also always have a bunch of shows every month as well!

12. When it does come to playing shows how does the band go from one show to the next?

CUF: We have a van that we drive, along with a trailer!

13. Does your family support you all being musicians?

CUF: For the most part they do, at first they weren't but now they see how dedicated we are and have become more supportive.

14. Where do you see City Under Fire three years from now?

CUF: Touring non-stop and playing to as many people as we can!

15. Do you have anything to say to our readers?

CUF: Keep supporting us and telling all your friends about us! Check out our Facebook and Twitter as well!

Thanks for all the support! Without you guys we wouldn't be able to do what we love doing!

Speaking of bags though there are currently two new handbags available via Toys R Us, one features a white backdrop with all of the girls spread all over it with pink ribbon just as the original black handbag with pink ribbon had done. Whilst this other handbag is the same one Frankie Stein uses, the only minor defect is the bow on the Monster High skull logo it’s somewhat not so great as it could have been but other than that it’s quite decent.

Other than that that’s currently all the “NEW” up and coming Monster High gear that will be available from Sakar. As far as the dolls go those will be released between March-April so be sure to keep a look out. If you dare!

Los Angeles-based alternative rock band DOMMIN has released new video for "Closure", just one of the rapturous and emotive tracks from LP "Love Is Gone". Instead of shooting a conventional music video, the band asked that fans submit video of themselves expressing personal interpretations of the concept of closure. In return, the band received hundreds of hours of poignant, gorgeous and sometimes heartbreaking images that were sorted through to produce the artfully pieced-together video that you can now view below.

Might Dutch Death Metal warriors GOD DETHRONED have announced to call it quits by the end of this year.

Read the statement of GOD DETHRONED mainman Henri Sattler: "For a Nihilist, nothing is at least something. 2011 is GOD DETHRONED's final year in existence. We could have spent another year in a tour bus because the amount of offers was endless, but I just don't feel like touring anymore. People told me to take a break for a year or maybe two, but as I'm an "all, or nothing at all" type of person, I decided to call it quits. Not immediately, but in December of this year we will definitely play our last show. That's gonna be at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in Holland. I'm very proud of what we achieved with the band, but the time has come for new challenges. I would like to thank all of our fans for their support for all these years." Cheers, Henri on behalf of GOD DETHRONED
