“Our new effort is on its way and is in the mixing process with Jason Suecof (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, AS I LAY DYING). We are really glad about how the album sounds and we hope that you will love and respect it as much as us. Will, Love Life is heavier, more mature, atmospheric and darker than our previous album, but also very positive and still full of symbolism” vocalist Kevin Trevor commented.

Machinist Bastien Jacquesson comments on the meaning behind the album artwork. “The pyramid on the cover is a mystical sign, a sign of spiritual elevation and knowledge. It is also linked with Aleister Crowley and the Thelema mythology which always been a big influence for us. The cover art photo was taken by our great friend Anthony Dubois who's also known as Meshuggah's official photographer and French painter Charlotte Mollet drew each of the eleven signs that represent the eleven tracks of the record. Each symbol has a special meaning linked with the song's lyrics.”

Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, four-piece death metal act JUNGLE ROT has been destroying the metal scene since 1994 proving the quality of their production matched their live performance, solidifying their spot as major players in the death metal scene. They signed to Victory Records in April 2011 and shortly after released Kill on Command, some of their heaviest material to date. Throwing down the gauntlet, they integrated slow stomp melodies into their speed-thrash style, bringing the band back to their death metal roots. Their years of hard work landed them on tours with many death metal legends such as OBITUARY, DEICIDE, ENTOMBED, SIX FEET UNDER, GOATWHORE, CATTLE DECAPITATION and more.

JUNGLE ROT will be re-issuing their newly re-mastered 1996 classic album, Skin The Living, coming February 19th, 2013. Pre-order packages are now available through the Victory Records’ webstore. Order HERE! Front man Dave Matrise comments “We’ve wanted to re-issue Skin The Living for some time now and are happy that we have that opportunity. I still feel this album stands up to the test of times. Night after night on the road we hear fans screaming out the songs from the release, asking us to play and constantly asking us where they can pick up Skin The Living. This will give everyone a chance to see where it all started for J-Rot and they will have a chance to own a rare piece.”

Attack Attack has announced they have parted ways with their vocalist Caleb Shomo and have replaced him with I Am Abomination's Phil Druyor. The band will begin recording their new album in January. Check out a post from Phil below!

"Dear friends,

If you are reading this, you are more than likely seeking confirmation that I am the new vocalist for Attack Attack! This is true. After Caleb and AJ decided that they would no longer continue on with the band, I was asked if I would like to join and make a new record with them. I said yes to both. The decision was very easy to make due to the fact that we've been friends for almost the entire duration of both our band’s careers.

To be clear, this does not mean that I Am Abomination is over. At all. I will be fulfilling my roll in each band simultaneously, and since I Am Abomination doesn't tour much (or at all), it really won’t change much about us. The biggest difference is that we won’t be in the same room while working on the early stages of each record.

This part is my favorite. Starting on January 5th, I will be making a new record with Attack Attack! Over the last few years, my best friend/guitarist/vocal coach/life coach has become one of the most amazing producers in the industry right now, and I am proud to say that Nick Sampson will be producing the new Attack Attack! record. The direction of the new album is definitely a bit of a change up, but I feel that the band has made a name for themselves inside of their genre by being the band to change the game first. We plan to do that again.

And in closing, thank you to every single person who has ever supported me in all that I do. I appreciate it more than you could ever know. However, I am not asking for your approval. I do not need you to sign off on the matter. This is not an application. I wouldn't have accepted the offer if I didn't think that I could make respectable music with them. I am simply informing you that the world is going to be taken over in 2013, and I’m inviting you all along for the ride. I would enjoy your company.

P.S. There will be a new Attack Attack! song posted TOMORROW!

-Phil"

Horror punk rock has been around since the dawn of time! Well no not really but it has been around and since forming Church For Sinners years back things were running its course but that would all end once the crowds would cave in and not be into "them" anymore, hence the end of CFS. Frontman Andy Wylie and crew went their separate ways doing and focusing upon their own lifestyles. Andy continued to pursue his life and love for music with an all new solo project called City Bear. This route took what he enjoyed before and brought it into the present, bringing on a whole new reality of how he saw and viewed his ways with making music. Expect to hear all new material once the new album comes around as well as any other thing Andy has hidden up his sleeves.

1. So can you tell me as to why Church For Sinners called it quits?

Andy: It wasn't really something we intended to happen. The shows were getting smaller, there were problems and delays with the release of the album, and we all had personal lives that were taking us in different directions. Basically, things weren't happening and it stopped being fun. When you're not having fun with it, it's time to try something else.

2. Do you ever see Church For Sinners to get back together later on down the line or are they done for good?

Andy: There are no plans to get back together at this time. If an opportunity came up that all of us were interested in, I'm sure we would pursue it, but to tell the truth, part of why we stopped was because people just weren't that interested in seeing CFS. Why reunite if nobody is really asking for it? It's like doing an encore when nobody was paying attention to the performance in the first place. Purely self involved. I'm not into that.

3. What can you tell me about this new side project you have been working on?

Andy: It's not so much a side project as a solo project. I was playing acoustic shows long before I formed CFS. After the band broke up, I went back to playing solo material and decided to try to make it work. I currently have a bass player, Vito, and a drummer, Arsen, who help me flesh the songs out live.

4. How does it differ from your work with Church For Sinners?

Andy: The City Bear material is basically what happens when I write without any outside influence or input. Church was very much a group effort. We all had our own ideas that we brought to the table. This record was just me and a producer, essentially. It's also much more raw and personal material. No monsters or sociopolitical rants, just my experiences with different people and situations laid out for anyone to pick up and hear.

5. Why did you think that this was the time to go solo?

Andy: I didn't really have anything else going on. There wasn't really any decision to make. I can't go too long without playing or writing music or I get very awkward and depressed. I don't know if that's normal for musicians or whatever, but I have to perform. I talked with a few people about starting projects but nothing really stuck, so I just went out on my own, played a bunch of shows, made a record and found friends that could play the songs live. That's about where I am now.

6. Since you are a solo artist do you plan to trek the DIY route or do you want to be a part of a label and release your music that way?

Andy: I would love to have label backing. That's not even a question. If you can get someone to carry the load and foot the bill while you go out and play every night, you're lucky. Unfortunately, that's not something that's handed to you. I will definitely be putting the work in on my own to get to that point in the future.

7. How do you plan to release your music anyway for free or can people get it digital via iTunes, Amazon, etc. What are the plans?

Andy: My goal is to get the album pressed on vinyl, but failing that, there will be a CD and digital release in the near future.

8. Where are you in the recording process of this new release?

Andy: The album is completely recorded, mixed, and mastered. Once the artwork is done, it will be good to go.

9. Who is producing the album? How has the producer aided the recording process?

Andy: Brent Wilkinson (Gruesome Boys/Dead Man's Tale) produced the album at Bad Habit studios. I've known him for a few years now. He actually produced the Church For Sinners full length as well. He is a genius. He is incredibly supportive and creative, and a pleasure to work with.

10. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album?

Andy: It's a little hard to describe. There are a lot of different elements to it. There are pop hooks, roots country grooves, spacey jazz bits, uptempo rock songs, lullabies. It's kinda all over the place, but still cohesive and easy to listen to.

11. Did you have any definitive goals that you were shooting for before the recording process began for this release?

Andy: Not really. I've always wanted to be able to show people what the songs I write sound like in my head. Since I was on my own, all I could do was play the songs for people with just an acoustic guitar and a melody. The record was a way to flesh the songs out and show how they were intended to sound.

12. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Andy: Definitely. I played upright bass on several tracks, piano on a couple, bells etc. Brent also threw down some accordion and cello parts on a few tracks. It's a completely different sound from what people would most likely expect if they had heard the Sinners CD's.

13. When did you start writing for this album?

Andy: Some of the songs are almost 9 years old, some were written a month before the recording process. It's basically a small collection of songs that span my entire time as a songwriter up til now.

14. Did you feel any pressure flying solo or were you pretty sure with yourself?

Andy: Not at all. The nice thing about being relatively unknown outside of a small scene is that there really is no pressure to produce. I can write anything I want without anyone wrangling or influencing me, and I can take as much or as little time with it as I choose. I spent almost a year making this record and I'm very happy with it. If other people enjoy it, that's a wonderful bonus.

15. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new album? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

Andy: There are 11 tracks on the album and they are all fairly unique. I love them all for different reasons, but a few standout to me. "Nell" is a soft folk duet that I did with my niece, which is dedicated to the memory of my aunt who passed away shortly before I started recording. It's basically about two homeless teens in love, who find themselves near death under a freeway and spend their last moments in appreciation of one another. "Get Worse Soon" has been a live favorite lately. It is a sort of roots country song, which my friend, James Hunnicutt, played guitar and sang harmonies on. It's a witty hate song about that guy in every circle that just gets on everyone's nerves and how nice it would be if they disappeared.

16. What was the vibe like in the studio?

Andy: It was very comfortable. Brent is a good friend of mine, so it was basically just like like and hanging out and making music with my friends for a year.

17. What inspired the album title? Is it a concept album?

Andy: The album title, Mournography, came from Russell Brand's autobiography. It was such a perfect word with so many possible meanings that could be applied to the music that I was writing, that I had to use it. It's not really a concept album at all, although there are themes that run throughout. I do have a concept album in mind for the next record though.

18. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Andy: My songs are about a lot of things, but it generally comes back to the classic themes. Love, loss, hate, beauty, pain, and occasionally vampires.

19. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Andy: Yes, I write all of my own songs. Always have. There isn't much of a process for me. When inspiration hits, I just go with it. I'll generally start with a line or a melody and build from there til I have the framework laid out. If a song doesn't come out within an hour or so, I usually scrap it and move on.

20. Who are your musical influences?

Andy: There are too many. Elliott Smith, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Waits, Irish Rovers, Alkaline Trio, Sean Lennon, Devil Makes Three, Jeff Buckley, James Hunnicutt, Morrissey, Decemberists, Smoking Popes, Bayside, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Elton John, AFI, the Beatles, the Stones, Fratellis, The View....the list goes on forever.

21. When can we expect the new album to be released?

Andy: Very soon. I'm shooting for late winter/early spring 2013.

22. What are your expectations for the CD?

Andy: I've learned not to expect anything. Just put in the work and hope people connect with it.

23. How do you describe your music to people?

Andy: I try not to. I don't like being labeled or categorized. People focus too much on scenes these days. Just listen to the record and judge for yourself.

24. What image do you think your music conveys?

Andy: I think that depends on the listener. It also changes from song to song. A bouncy song like "Save Me" will conjure up totally different images than a more jazzy song like "Mediocre Love Song". I think the album will surprise people.

25. Do you want to say or add anything else?

Andy: Thanks for the interview. Check out www.reverbnation.com/CityBear to hear tracks, find live dates, and scope out videos. Also, check out the other project I'm involved with, www.vitoandtheoneeyedjacks.bandcamp.com. If you wanna say hello, drop by www.facebook.com/BearArmy. Cheers.

The official lyric video for "Cocaine Cowboys", the new single from Swedish rockers CRASHDÏET, can be seen HERE. The song comes off the band's fourth album, "The Savage Playground", which will be released on January 25 in Europe (excluding Scandinavia) and January 22 in North America via Frontiers Records.

With "The Savage Playground" recorded during summer/autumn 2012 at Kingside Studios outside Stockholm with producer Otto Wellton, the band has their minds set to break through on a worldwide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the U.S. as well as going to Japan for the first time.

The new album sees CRASHDÏET going in a heavier and direction. "'The Savage Playground' is our playground, it's the beginning and the end, it's the place where we eat and breed," says guitarist Martin Sweet. "We thought the time was right for us to do a edgier and not-so-polished-sounding album, kinda like what we sound like live. It's more organic and rough-sounding. And, of course, we're always evolving as musicians and like to try new ways of expressing ourselves, and that can most definitely be heard this album."

"Carve My Cross", the new video from Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new EP, "Lepers Caress", which is available for free download via Scion Audio/Visual (a.k.a. Scion A/V), the in-house record label and lifestyle marketing division of the Scion marque produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market.

"The EP was put together quickly after we finished [the forthcoming ARSIS full-length album] 'Unwelcome'," said ARSIS bassist Noah Martin, "It gave us the opportunity to offer a brief statement of where our heads are at the moment. We revisited some of the oldest material in the ARSIS catalog as well as re-tracked a song off the upcoming full-length. Expect more three and four-part writing, thrash and blasts, and a string quartet arranged for a full band."

Gristle up your holiday caroling with "Cross Damnation", the first single from Joel Grind's "The Yellowgoat Sessions" offering. Recorded as a TOXIC HOLOCAUST return-to-form of sorts (think the "Critical Mass" demo), "The Yellowgoat Sessions" are raw, unrefined, reverbed out, distorted to hell and violently delicious.

Comments Joel Grind of the release: "I decided to not call this a TOXIC HOLOCAUST record for a few reasons. The main one being that TOXIC has sort of morphed from being a solo project to now being a full band. That's not saying you won't see other 'solo' TOXIC material, but for right now it's definitely a solid band. Also, this record is definitely less thrash and more dirty rock 'n' roll. Finally, I didn't want to just slap the TOXIC name on it to sell it. I recorded this because I was anxious to record something like this again without over thinking things."

"Cross Damnation" is currently available as a free download with the optional suggested donation of $1.00 from Joel Grind's official page found HERE or on Nimbit Music. The full album will be released digitally January 15, 2013, with vinyl to follow in late February via Acid Rat Records.

Hailing from Hampshire, Lucy T are a 5-piece alternative rock band that has gained an impressive following of avid fans since re-forming in early 2011. Since that formation the band has released their EP and played showcases left and right and has more to come within the upcoming months! Guitarist Tom Eastman discusses these matters and more!

1. Where are you guys from originally?

Tom: Hampshire, South England.

2. How did you come together?

Tom: Tom and Greg met at work, we were introduced to Thom through a friend and after the original lineup split Ben and Graham were added to the lineup through friends of the band.

3. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Tom: Lucy Tiseman is a character from a comedy series called Jam by Chris Morris, we found her rather amusing in the series and decided to take inspiration from this.

4. What type of band are you?

Tom: We play alternative metal but we love to have fun and laugh.

5. You guys have a unique sound, which bands would you say influence you the most?

Tom: Our influences range from Funeral For A Friend to Architects, Story Of The Year, Alexisonfire but we all listen to a huge variety of music.

6. What was the inspiration for the EP name Murphy's Law?

Tom: We had a bad year as a band with a tour cancelled on us and many other things going wrong. Murphy's Law basically means "If it can go wrong, it will go wrong" and it seemed a pretty good fit at the time.

7. Why did you pick Murphy's Law as your single?

Tom: We believe it was one of our strongest songs on the EP and a lot of people would be able to relate to it.

8. Where did you get the music video for that song?

Tom: We filmed the video for it at a Shurguard (storage facility) in Wokingham, we wanted a location that we hadn't seen used by another band, we always try to be a little different and think outside the box.

9. Tell me about the song Murphy's Law.

Tom: Murphy's Law basically means "If it can go wrong, it will go wrong". The song is about our struggle as a band to move forward as the first year was a tough one.

10. Who writes the songs, what are they about?

Tom: The songs are written as a jamming exercise usually in rehearsals - the whole band contributes and it seems to work well for us doing it this way. Thom writes the majority of the lyrics.

11. Do you guys have any new music in the works?

Tom: Yeah we do! We are back in the studio over the Easter holidays, again with Matt O'Grady to record our next release.

12. What are your dreams and goals?

Tom: We want to be able to eventually tour the world and play all around the globe, we love playing shows!

13. How do you promote your band and shows?

Tom: We promote using our social media, radio, flyers, stickers etc.

www.facebook.com/lucytuk
www.youtube.com/lucyttv
www.lucytband.com

14. Describe your show, visual and musically?

Tom: Visually we move around a lot always jumping, running about - very energetic, we also have our own light show we have a light box we creates shadows on the ceiling when we stand on it as well as foot switchable side lights. Musically we are very loud and upbeat.

15. What else do you have planned for the rest of this year?

Tom: This year is pretty much over but we are writing new material for our next release. Next year we plan on touring more, recording more music videos, recording a new EP, playing shows all over the country.

16. Anything else you want to add or say?

Tom: If you like your music heavy but melodic and a little different to the typical hardcore band, please come and check us out!

Green Bay, Wisconsin's Micawber is a 5 piece death metal act who's finally found a sound to call their own. After going through a series of difficulty as most bands tend to face, they have managed to find an image that is making an impact on today's metal community. Since their formation in 2007 they have gone on to release 2 EPs, and 1 full-length entitled "Viral" and now all they want to do is to break away from the slow, boring, half-time chugs that have infected the metal scene today, while still maintaining enough energy in their music to put on an intense live show. Guitarist Sean Thompson caught up to discuss the band's historic past, present, and future plans from here on out!

1. What type of band are you?

Sean: We're a Green Bay, Wisconsin based Death Metal band.

2. Tell us the brief history of your band.

Sean: Leighton, Tyler and I (Sean) have been jamming together since we've been in high school  We got together when we were like 16 and over the years our sound has gotten progressively heavier and heavier. We've been setting up our own tours since 2008, put out 2 EPs and 1 full length album ourselves, and are just now finally becoming satisfied with the music that we are writing.

3. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Sean: Wilkins Micawber is a character in Charles Dicken's 'David Copperfield'. The character is essentially a man with extreme financial problems who is always hopeful that things will get better in the future. Originally I got the name when I was in 8th grade and just Googled "cool words" but over the years we have kind of grown into that representation as a band. We're all extremely broke, we work any jobs that we can get that will allow us to tour, the money that we do make from those jobs is directly invested back into the band for the most part, but we're still all extremely hopeful that this band is going to take us somewhere in the future. Probably too positive of a name for a death metal band, but hey who gives a shit.

4. Who are your musical influences?

Sean: Our influences come from all over the map. Our writing style is definitely influenced for the most part by older death metal bands, but we try to incorporate some newer elements that have come into the genre into what we write as well. We're all really big into thrash too so we try to throw some of that into the mix. Our bass player Marv is also the biggest Motorhead fan and Meshuggah fan that I have ever met in my life. Our style is definitely a strange mix, I don't know if many people really get it haha. Alcohol is also another big influence when it comes to our music.

5. Tell me where the title "VIRAL" came from and what does it symbolize?

Sean: We lost our vocalist who is featured on the Viral album, Jeff Plewa, a couple months ago so I'm going to be speaking for him here for the most part. I'm pretty sure Jeff was using the word "viral" as a reference to the way that the mass media, the news, the internet, etc, is used to spread ideas and information like a virus throughout the human race. I'm not saying that all news sources aren't credible or that you can't trust anything that you read on the internet, but for the most part news sources aren't credible and you probably should trust everything you read on the internet. The Viral album was a way of saying that people's thoughts and actions can be manipulated way too easily, and sometimes the wrong people will take advantage of that fact. Look at human history in general, you'll see it everywhere.

6. What are your songs about? What specific themes do they cover?

Sean: Jeff's lyrics main focal points were political. He was voicing his opinion on the way that our country is run and pointing out that we as a society place way too much value on things like personal wealth, and material goods, and the fact that our leaders hold those same values and the decisions that they make are impacted by them is a shame. With our new vocalist Quentin Biggs we only have a few songs written. The only one that we have recorded with him, "Mass Exodus", is a take on Jim Jones and the People's Temple cult/mass suicide back in the 70's and I think he did a really good job with it. Overall I've been really impressed with Quentin's writing style, and I can't wait to see what else he can bring to the table with this next album.

7. Do you write your own songs? Can you discuss the songwriting process in detail.

Sean: All of our music is completely original, basically we just sit down as a group and come up with the best stuff that we can. We've been jamming together for the past 6 years, at this point the music pretty much just flows out when we're all in the same room together.

8. What's the music scene like in Green Bay, WI?

Sean: The metal scene in Green Bay is awesome, and it's something that we're trying to work really hard to improve for everyone. There's a lot of awesome guys from around the area that are all constantly busting their asses to book shows, play shows, help bands out and keep the scene alive. Great things are coming out of the Wisconsin metal scene in general, we love the crowds at home.

9. Can you discuss the artwork and what it represents?

Sean: The Viral artwork is essentially two people surrounding a third person and forcing their way into the third persons brain through some really brutal spikey tube things coming from their mouths haha. It's a representation of how the mass media can force their way into a person's head and influence the way they perceive the world around them. Again, all of these are Jeff's ideas so I can't be 100% sure that I even know what I'm talking about here.

10. This is a self-release but have you had any luck with finding a label?

Sean: No such luck yet, but we are working extremely hard to make something big happen with the material that we've been working on. If not though, we'll put it out ourselves, tour in support of it as much as we possibly can, and then get started on the next album. That's something that we as a band have always been about, continually trying to progress and at the same time continue to put out music that we have a good time playing.

11. How would you describe the overall sound of it?

Sean: The overall sound of our music as a whole is fast, heavy, and really fun to play and hopefully fun to listen to. Our music is by no means ground breaking or anything, we're just a couple dudes coming up with the best material that we can.

12. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began?

Sean: Well this was the first full length album that we've ever put together, so really it was just a "figure it out as we go" sort of thing. We definitely had an idea of the kind of mix we wanted to end up with, but besides that it was really just a learning experience for us for the most part. We've all had studio experience and everything before, but when you're putting together an entire album you really have to put some work in to make sure all the songs flow together well.

13. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Sean: Nope, we've always just kind of kept our band simple for the most part. Just guitars, bass, drums and vocals. Heavy metal.

14. When did you start writing for this release?

Sean: The first song or two off of it was probably finished around the beginning of 2011. Some riffs on the album are ones we had been playing around with since like 2010 but we just hadn't done anything with them.

15. Can you go into one or two tracks on this release? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

Sean: The title track "Viral" is still one of my favorite songs on the CD, it was one of the first ones we had finished off of the album and I just remember being super stoked about it at the time. It was more fun to play than anything that we had written before, and our fans had never really heard anything like that come out of us before. The new stuff we've been working on is giving me the same feeling though, so that's probably a good thing.

16. What are your expectations for this release?

Sean: I think Viral has pretty much served it's purpose, we've toured off of it pretty heavily this year, had really good feedback from it, and the songs are still fun to play a year later. We're really just trying to keep the ball rolling though with new stuff.

17. Your plans for 2013 are what?

Sean: We'll be hitting the road in February for two weeks, besides that we don't have any scheduled tour plans as of yet. We'll pretty much either be on the road or at home writing, we're hoping to get in the studio for the next album by summertime. Keep an eye on our tour schedule, come hang out with us at a show, and keep your eyes and ear pussies open for the heaviest stuff we've written yet!

18. Anything else you want to say or add?

Sean: Drink beer, smash your television, and support underground metal!

Spending the holiday season as any other person would this time of the year, Reasons Be isn't any different. Find out what the guys had to say about their upcoming holiday plans for the rest of this year!

1. What are you doing for the holidays?

R.E.L: I am going on a couple of 3-day vacations… nothing special. Hey, with all that’s happening, I gotta be around right?

Scotty: I'm gonna fly home to Wisconsin for Christmas and New Years.  Spend some time with friends and fam, then back to LA to get back to the Be!

2. This Halloween season I did what?

R.E.L: Oh man! My date and I went to a club dressed like Han Solo and Princess Leia! Check the Facebook page for the picture! People loved it and were taking pictures with us throughout the night. We did find a couple more Hans and Leias but they weren't as good as ours.

Scotty: This Halloween I was filming a movie; so I literally wrapped for the day, met up with my brother Billy and his lady friend Nesto who hails from a great land.  We proceeded to drive to Chicago to go to a party, which left me with an hour and a half of sleep before my 6am call time the next morning.  Classy with a side of regret!

3. Did you dress up this year?

R.E.L: see question 2, HA!

Scotty: I always dress up. I was really tired this year so I left my costume in the hands of my brother and his lady lover.  They whipped up a nice lil' Chippendales costume for me.  After cutting my jeans way too short for comfort, "borrowing" pieces of my Dad's tuxedo and letting my hair flow in the winds, it worked quite well. ha.

4. What is your favorite Halloween candy or treat?

R.E.L: chocolate????

Scotty: I LOVE Caramel Nestle Treasures!

5. What are you thankful for?

R.E.L: Health, family and of course Reasons Be!

Scotty: I have to agree with R.E.L on this one.  Family first, then health, our FANS and Reasons Be.  I am also very thankful for beer, life, cows and other food, trees, my career, randomness, movies, beaches, ladies, music, a million other things, and good, down-to-earth people. And of course, I'm thankful to the Big Guy in the Sky.

6. Do you have a favorite dish for Thanksgiving or do you enjoy everything?

R.E.L: yeah I just like food so fill my plate up!

Scotty: I love my Dad's turkey and my Mom & Grandma's side dishes... nothing else compares... except for my besty Scott and his wife Daniella's oh so delicious Thanksgiving feasts.

7. Who's the one who eats the most when it comes to the holiday season?

R.E.L: I have not yet had the pleasure of celebrating with Scotty so I am unsure.

Scotty: R.E.L's response is true, though I eat an abnormal amount of food.  I can out-eat a 300 lb man without a problem so whenever R.E.L wants to challenge me I'll be waiting.  And oh yes, we shall film it and post it for all to see the outcome!

8. Do you or have you gone shopping on Black Friday, if so what did you find and buy?

R.E.L: Listen, Black Friday is SO overrated. Why wait in line for 3 days to save some money? If you would simply go to work and then buy the item at the original price YOU'LL GET THE BETTER DEAL!
Now Cyber Monday - that's where it's at...

Scotty: Last Thanksgiving my buddies and I went to Wal-Mart at around 5 in the morning.  The line was wrapped around the entire building so we just sat in the car and watched people get trampled when the doors opened.  Yeah R.E.L and I were just talking about that actually.  We believe in the working for a week rather than pitching a tent route.

9. When it comes to the holiday season does the band all get together or does everyone do their own thing?

R.E.L: Well based on when started Reasons Be, we have only had one holiday season, which we didn't spend together, so it is yet to be determined what the standard will be. But that said, I am sure Scotty and I will share the turkey many times in the future.

Scotty: Absolutely.  Sharin' turkey.

10. What is your favorite Christmas song to sing and why?

R.E.L: I won't know because I'm Jewish, but if you had asked me about Chanukah… well I would name a bunch of stuff in Hebrew and no one would know what I am saying.

Scotty: Mele Kalikimaka.  Because it is Hawaii's way to say Merry Christmas to you.  It brings back amazing memories of Christmas Eve's with my Mom, Dad, bro, Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Jim in the little ol' town of Green Bay, WI.  And, of course, you have to try to sound like Bing!

11. One thing you really want for Christmas is what?

R.E.L: The one thing I really want for CHANUKAH is… hmmm… a surprise!

Scotty: Well I have 8 presents for R.E.L (not really fair but it's tradition).  Hmmm a present??... I really just want to spend time with the people I love in this world.  I know it sounds sappy but I like chick flicks and romantic comedies. ha.

12. Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

R.E.L: Why are there no Chanukah questions? I would've aced this test!

Scotty: Absolutely.  Haven't you seen The Santa Claus?  Proof.  And I also know Santa very well.  I run into him all the time at malls during the holidays.

13. What type of Christmas tree do you prefer white or green or your own version?

R.E.L: I prefer a dradle.

Scotty: I prefer a real Junirperus Viginiana, known to most folks as the Eastern Red Cedar.  This tree has dark leaves and a shiny, green color.  It is sticky to the touch and has an intoxicating scent of Christmasy joy.  It is typically a southern Christmas tree, but I enjoy having them shipped in from across the land.  The finishing touch is "flocking" the Junirperus Viginiana, or otherwise covering it with fake snow to fool the mind into thinking it just snowed in the house.  It gets me every time.

14. Are you a late or early Christmas shopper?

R.E.L: Well I do get presents for other people for Xmas and I am a VERY LATE shopper.

Scotty: I'm betting R.E.L and I will run into each other at the mall on Christmas Eve.

15. One thing you have to do on New Years Eve?

R.E.L: Kiss on midnight!

Scotty: Whoa easy, R.E.L... I like making music with you but... man I guess I have some thinking to do.  Personally, my peeps and I always eat a traditional herring at midnight.  It's gross but necessary to bring luck and blissfulness to the New Year.  You have to make sure you drank enough to not remember the taste in the morning.

16. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

R.E.L: Yes… and I can't believe I am saying this in an interview but - R.E.L! It's time to be MORE PRODUCTIVE!

Scotty: I am going to try to do more to help people who are less fortunate and make our publicist happy by getting into really great shape.  I also want to go to church more and make sure I'm behaving to an extent.

Finland's My Reflection started in 2007 within that same year their first EP was released, as time progressed the band took some time off but soon began writing all new material. Thus this lead them to release a demo recording and eventually their debut album "Dreamland Drowning". Now the time will tell as to where these guys will end up in the coming future.

1. Where does a name like My Reflection come from and mean?

When we started to really focus on doing music in 2007 we felt like we needed a new name. Earlier we had used a name we weren’t completely satisfied with. We started brainstorming and My Refection was one of the ideas that came up. We thought it sounded good. It also had a meaning of our personalities reflecting to our music and we are very close to each other and it makes our music “My Reflection”.

2. Tell us the brief history of your band.

The story of My Reflection started in 2007 as the band was founded in Sipoo, Southern Finland. We were at the same high school. Aki also went to the same high school but graduated earlier than the rest of us. And at the time He was dating Henkka's sister. In the same year My Reflection recorded its very first EP, Slipping Away, at D-Studio in Klaukkala, Finland. After a year-long break, due to military service obligations, My Reflection started making new songs and rehearsing at a new rehearsal studio which offered also a great recording possibility.

In November 2010 My Reflection released a self-published demo album Be My Eyes. The album’s tracks Stand Again, Shadow In The Sun and Is This The End have been airing on Finnish radio stations such as Radio Rock and YleX. In 2011 the band was focusing on gigs and making new songs.

The long-awaited debut album Dreamland Drowning will be available in web shops and music stores worldwide after releasing it 30 November 2012. The first single of album is called Let the Rain Come Down and it is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc.

3. What type of band are you?

We’re making melodic metal with progressive influences. We want to take the female fronted metal forward and make wide-ranging music. We don’t want to be a stereotypic femme metal band. Our band members like various forms of music and every one of us wants to bring out own preferences and something new to each instrument.

4. Tell me about the title for your release Dreamland Drowning?

For us Dreamland Drowning means that the perfect vision of the world is breaking down little by little. People live their happy life and won’t notice what’s happening all around. Our cover art reflects the end of the world as the clock is broken and time is coming to an end as there is no twelfth hour in the clock. For example songs On The Edge and Farewell approach the subject from different aspects. On the Edge comments on the state of the world and Farewell tells about this character whose world is falling apart and she’s leaving it behind. We wish to get people thinking about the world view and pondering how they could change the world.

5. Who writes the songs, what are they about?

Petja is our main songwriter who has written most of the song of the Dreamland Drowning album. Jenni has also written some lyrics for the songs such as Sweet Freedom and On The Edge. We appreciate cooperation and in future we want to make more songs together and let all of us to give their contribution to our music. For example On The Edge was written in more cooperative way.

6. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album? How does it compare to your previous releases?

Our music is energetic metal with catchy melodies. For Dreamland Drowning we wanted to diversify our music and get rhythmically more challenging riffs and nuances of various genres bring them to every instrument. We wish to create emotional and fascinating soundscapes. Our soundscape has changed from the earlier material to more electronic. Jenni also uses tighter pop/rock sound than before.

7. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Our goal was to get people to know about us and get our music for the widest possible audience through Inverse Records. The deal with Inverse Records made us want to improve our music productively compared to the Be My Eyes demo album, which we weren't completely satisfied with.

8. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

We've probably had some influences from metal bands with great melodies combined with fascinating soundscapes, like Killswitch Engage, Tesseract and Periphery.

9. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?
No, we don’t use any new instrumentation. We wanted bring out more electronic sounds, electro beats and from production viewpoint digital programming.

10. When did you start writing for this album? How was the songwriting process different/similar to previous My Reflection releases?

Some of the songs have been re-arranged for our new style from the older production but we wrote also some new songs and the songwriting took place in the beginning of 2012. Songwriting process differed from previous as we did more cooperation than before.

11. Did you feel any pressure to follow this up?

Only pressure we felt was due to the tight schedule. We wanted do the whole process by ourselves from songwriting, recording and producing to the artwork of the album cover. It was a lot of work and required a great deal of time. At the same time we had freedom to do everything just the way we wanted to.

12. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new album? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

With On The Edge we wanted to try composing more together and make the song sound more like the whole band. We wanted to take the song to new dimensions, to more mature soundscape and use more complex rhythms. This is what you can expect from us in the future.

13. How do you promote your band and shows?

Our promotion happens mainly in the Social Medias such as Facebook, YouTube and MySpace. Facebook is our main channel which we have focused on. If you want to get our latest news check out our Facebook site.

14. Describe your show, visual and musically for us.

We have energetic show. We want to have fun on the stage and that the can audience feel it too. We want to provide experiences and share feelings. Playing is naturally an important part of our stage performance. To get the best possible musical expression we use backing tracks for keyboards and backing vocals.

15. What are your dreams and goals?

We want to develop our skills as musicians and get to do music because it is important to us and an important part of us. Every musician dreams on having a musical career and being able to make a living with it.
16. How much more can we expect to see from My Reflection for the rest of this year?

There’s not much of this year left. The album will be released 30 November and the pre-listening is now running on KaaosZine.fi. We have our album release gig 15 December and we’re planning to publish second single of the album. Let’s have a hell of a next year then!

17. Anything else you want to say or add?

Listen our single Let The Rain Come Down on Spotify or YouTube and if you want to be among the first to get our latest news like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/MyReflectionBand

The original lineup started back in 2003, several demos, EPs, and albums were released, shows were played, and now the continuation is slowly coming back together after the band reunited not too long ago. The creative fires have been burning strong and 2013 is the year to shine, the year of the Rue!

1. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Rue as in the saying you'll rue the day. It means to regret. Our old bassist Ped came up with it.

2. What are your plans for new music?

To record and make music we enjoy and hopefully others will too.

3. How does your new material differ from "The Attraction"?

We have all grown up as people and musicians. The songs are no longer just sad love songs. They are stories about real life. And the band has a new bassist so of course the sound is going to be different since we have Josh's influences brought in to the mix.

4. If you could go back and change something on the album would you?

No not me personally. Albums are like tattoos in a musical sense. They are a marker on the timeline of the writers life and make that moment immortal. But I know my drummer Rick would say he wants the drums louder.

5. You guys have a unique sound, which bands would you say influence you the most?

Tool of course, Rush, H.I.M. , Foo Fighters are a few but I honestly can't speak for the hole band there. We all have a wide variety of musical influences and appreciate all styles.

6. What about upcoming plans?

Tour, write and record maybe a video.

7. Anything else you want to add for your fans?

Keep listening and we will keep writing. We hope you enjoy our new music because with out you we are nothing.
