B00ty Share New Video for Retro Funk Second Single "Funky Sista"

L.A. based electro-funk-soul duo B00TY has a vibrant video to accompany their recent foot-stomping single, “Funky Sista”. The video depicts the band playing at a club, where two dancers fall in love on a crowded dance floor. As the video progresses, we witness the determined lovers find their way into each others’ groove, no matter what gets in their way. The deep, cool colors in the video coupled with the funky bass lines of “Funky Sista” create a nostalgic vibe that’ll send viewers careening into a time warp.

The vision for this vintage video comes from director Nick Smith, the founder of the YouTube comedy sketch group Extremely Decent. While Nick is currently working a show in development for FX with Dan Harmon, the co-creator of Rick and Morty, he goes way back with the L.A. based duo, having met in school at UCLA. The video also features an all-star cast, including Lonnie Chavis, from NBC’s This Is Us, as the band’s fictional drummer with the main dancers played by Jojo Nwoko and Ziara Smith. Connor Irias, B00TY's longtime engineer and collaborator, plays the keyboard in the video, bringing flair to their funk. Edan Freiberger & Adam Epelbaum have quickly made a name for themselves in the downtown LA music scene; incorporating live instrumentation, such as horns, violins, and keyboards, B00TY captures the essence of funk but adds their own modern twist.
