CHIMAIRA have debuted a brand new single called "All That's Left is Blood" from their upcoming new LP "Crown Of Phantoms." Vocalist Mark Hunter weighs in on the single;

"'All That’s Left is Blood' is an exercise in musical evisceration. One almost feels guilty for screaming along to such audio violence. Here, Werstler’s soloing lays a daring fluidity over the riot-inciting main riff. It’s immediately recognizable as being another classic Chimaira track, trademarked territory yet radical with growth."

Check out the single HERE.

Cleveland's heavy metal beast CHIMAIRA will return to the stage for their first and only US appearance of 2012 on December 29. The 13th annual Chimaira Christmas will take place at Cleveland's House Of Blues. Commented frontman Mark Hunter:

"Cleveland's had Chimaira's back since the beginning - they've weathered the storms- now it's time to celebrate!"

A special pre-sale for fans will take place through the band's Facebook and Twitter pages this Wednesday. Tickets will go on sale through Live Nation on Friday.

CHIMAIRA have issued the following update:

"We are proud to announce the addition of Matt Szlachta [DIRGE WITHIN] and Jeremy Creamer [DAATH] to CHIMAIRA. The plan was to build an undeniable string section and we have done just that. Jeremy will be pounding on the bass, and Matt shredding alongside Emil [Werstler, DAATH] on guitar. As a way to say hello to the CHIMAIRA fans, Jeremy recently remixed a couple of tracks from [CHIMAIRA's latest album] 'The Age Of Hell'. We look forward to 2012. Thank you all for your overwhelming, and continuous support."

Chimaira's Ron Arnold and Matt DeVries have quit the band. Frontman Mark Hunter released the following information in regards to this,

"I would like to start off by thanking our fans for a great tour. This last run was a blast, and truly the most fun we’ve had in a long while. The energy from the audience was exactly what we needed, and a welcoming return. Thank you, guys!

"Unfortunately, as much fun as we were having, behind the scenes we were aware of some unfortunate realities that prevented us from 'living the dream' and having the time of our lives. We had another bomb to drop on the fans.

"Early in July, we were informed that Rob Arnold [guitar] and Matt DeVries [guitar] would be leaving CHIMAIRA at the end of 2011. Of course, this was a huge blow, but there were no hard feelings. We understand that life invades art, everything runs its course, and we have to take different paths. We respect their decision and wish them only the best. We made heavy metal history together and that is all that matters at the end of the day. 'Chimaira Christmas 12' will be their last show, and we've been preparing to make it one that you'll never forget.

"I would personally like to thank Rob and Matt for all of their hard work, years of service to CHIMAIRA, amazing songs, and for their friendship. Together we built something special that will remain for generations to come.

"I'm looking forward to spending another five weeks on the road with two of the best (and criminally underrated) guitarists in modern metal.

"What's next for CHIMAIRA in 2012? More on that very soon.

"Rather than try and make light of unpleasant news, or downplay this by hyping up a new lineup, let's take a few to honor Rob and Matt. My favorite solo of Rob's is on 'The Heart Of It All' and my favorite riff of Matt's is 'The Dehumanizing Process'. I'll be cranking those today. What about you?"

CHIMAIRA will be heading out on the road for a round of dates with UNEARTH this fall on "THE JÄGERMEISTER PRESENTS TOUR" with Skeletonwitch and Molotov Solution. The Jägermeister Presents Tour featuring Chimaira will begin October 10th in Kent, Ohio. The band will be touring in support of their latest record “The Age of Hell” and will be embarking on an Australian and European tour in 2012, followed by more US touring.

"We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth,” says Mark Hunter. “Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over 10 years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this line-up and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we'll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don't want to miss this!"

Tickets will be on sale to the general public starting September 23 through each venue’s ticketing outlet. Please check local listings or Chimaira’s official website for more details.

Chimaira Guitarist Joins SFU!

Tampa, FL Death metallers, SIX FEET UNDER, has delivered the following update regarding the bands line up:

We would like to announce and welcome the addition of guitarist Rob Arnold (Chimaira) to the SIX FEET UNDER family! Just wanted to give you a SIX FEET UNDER band update and let you all know that we would like to announce our good friend Rob Arnold will be joining SFU as 2nd rhythm guitarist for upcoming touring duties, as well as collaborating on the new CD.

Chris Barnes comments; "I couldn't be happier about the new songs and line up! Rob and myself have been collaborating on new songs along with the bands new drummer, Kevin Talley (www.drummerkevintalley.com) for the past few months. We are all feeling really excited about the bands future, and the raw intensity of the songs that we have created together so far. THIS IS THE HEAVIEST MOST EXCITING MATERIAL THAT IVE WORKED ON SINCE THE BLEEDING, AND IM STOKED THAT ROB WILL BE HELPING OUT CREATING THIS CD WITH US! We've all known each other for a while and we're really looking forward to continue writing the new CD and future tours. We are committed to taking SIX FEET UNDER to the next level of brutality!!!"

Rob Arnold comments; "It's been an amazing honor and opportunity to have been called upon by one of my biggest idols, Chris Barnes!! SIX FEET UNDER and the Barnes era Cannibal stuff had enormous effects on me as a young musician, and still do to this day. In 1996, I was a kid in the front row screaming my head off to 'Lycanthropy' and 'Torn to the Bone'…and now here I am, being asked to play the songs on stage with the band! Dreams do come true!!! And the stuff we've been writing absolutely RIPS! Watch out!!"

Chimaira formed in 1998 based out of Cleveland, Ohio these metalcore thrash addicts have taken the metal genre to a whole new level after unleashing "The Infection," Expanding a series of new material to express itself to not only the old school fans but the new comers as well. Matt spoke to me briefly on the band's tour bus right outside their last stop in California before heading out East to finish up the remainder of what is left is The Decimation of the Nation Tour.

1. So you must get a lot of freedom to do what you want to do with your music?

Matt: What’s cool about this record is having us as a whole grow up and being able to combine our certain favorites together to create a style all our own.

2. What are you currently listening to?

Matt: We kind of go back on what we grow up with I’ve been listening to Pantera lately.

3. If every member of Chimaira was locked in a room together what could you all agree on to listen to?

Matt: What’s cool a lot of us have the same backgrounds like Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, any of the old school heavy metal acts we can all relate too.

4. Are you looking forward to any specific venues or cities on this tour?

Matt: There’s some I’m trying to think all the California dates I love coming out here in the West Coast but I also like going out to Austin.

5. Any tour anxieties?

Matt: Not really anymore everything is pretty much going well.

6. Is everyone in Chimaira still sort of located in Ohio? Or have some members branched out and moved away?

Matt: Everyone is in Cleveland, Chris moved down in Florida stayed out there for 2 years then moved back. So having everyone around makes the music process a lot easier.

7. Does that make it difficult when the time comes to practice or write? Is the writing done separately and then sort of pieced together, or is it more of as group effort?

Matt: We write on our own at first then come together. Then we get together and piece it altogether.

8. How do you feel like "The Infection," is different than the other albums that Chimaira has released?

Matt: Yeah it’s definitely different than anything else we’ve released.

9. How does it make you guys feel to hear so many other bands trying to sort of mimic your sound? Is it flattering or…?

Matt: I think it’s flattering for sure it’s not like someone is trying to rip us off but I think its cool overall.

10. Of all of Chimaira’s albums, what is your personal favorite? Or is that like asking you to try and choose a favorite child?

Matt: I’d have to say this one because it’s fresh and new.

11. Any last words of wisdom?

Matt: Thanks for all the support.
