Having just completed a massive thirty-six date North American tour supporting Mayhem, the ABIGAIL WIILIAMS touring machine will continue on the road this week for six headlining dates, beginning in Wilmington, Delaware tonight. Taking only a few weeks off after this run of dates, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS hit the road on another set of headlining performances on their way to provide direct support for Dark Funeral's North American assault engulfing all of February, immediately followed by a full tour with Deicide through the end of March! A full list of tour dates is posted below.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' massive ongoing tour schedule is to pummel audiences with new material from the band's new album, Becoming. Confirmed for release in North America on January 24, 2012 -- once again on Candlelight Records -- the band's third full-length Becoming is already stirring interest in the metal media; its organic, churning tracks offering some stark contrast to previous ABIGAIL WILLIAMS releases. The first single from Becoming, "Ascension Sickness," in its second week at radio has already broken the top 20 on CMJ (on a 11-minute single!). The track continues to get heavy requests and plays nationwide as the track continues to infect the masses. Stream "Ascension Sickness" HERE.

Clocking in at nearly an hour in length, Becoming ushers in a provocative new chapter for the adventurous band. Containing six vast tracks, truly the band’s most expressive and complicated to date, Becoming was recorded in various warehouses throughout Los Angeles, with the lineup for the album including returning guitarist Ian Jekelis, studio drummer Zach Gibson (ex-The Black Dahlia Murder) and as always, vocalist/guitarist Ken Sorceron, who handled all mixing, mastering, production and engineering duties. View the cover art by infamous graphic artist Metastazis (Morbid Angel, Watain, Ulver, Nachtmystium, etc.) and more at this location. Preorders for the record are available from Candlelight.

TRACKLISTING:

1. Ascension Sickness
2. Radiance
3. Elestial
4. Infinite Fields of Mind
5. Three Days of Darkness
6. Beyond the Veil
7. Akasha (digital-only)

Hawthorne Heights has signed to Twilight Records in Japan . The label, which has released albums from such acts as Attack Attack!, Stereo Skyline, The Ready Set and more, will release the band’s Hate EP in January with bonus alternate versions of “Hate” and “Oceans.” Hawthorne Heights will be announcing dates for a Japanese tour which is tentatively scheduled for April 2012.

Evergreen Terrace has recently announced that they will be playing a string of dates across Florida with several other Florida-based bands in tow. Florida is passed over by a lot of tours, so the band decided to play shows specifically for their home state fans!

Guitarist Josh James explains further: "It's strange to think that even though we tour 9 months out of the year we rarely get to play Florida. This state has a great scene, amazing bands and mostly importantly it's our home. In early December we will head out for a weekend trip with our friends Casey Jones and Boys No Good to explore some of these scenes and to catch some great local bands. Later in the month we will be participating in Jack Rabbit's infamous 12 Days of Christmas event in Jacksonville. It's been almost a year since we've played our hometown. The show has an amazing lineup featuring Kids Like Us, His Name Was Iron, a rad band from Tallahassee called Livid and a new local Jacksonville band called Atlas. Remember, the best way to support your scene is by attending local shows and supporting not only touring bands but local ones as well. We look forward to seeing old and new faces at these shows and closing out 2011 in a memorable way."

Norma Jean are writing new material for their next album entering the studio with producer Jeremy Griffin who's worked with Underoath in the New Year to begin recording. Vocalist Cory Brandan says "After making ‘Meridonal,’ we really didn’t know what we were going to do next. It’s hard to imagine that after coming out of so much work and thought being poured into something, but we’re starting to see this new record take shape and all I can say right now is it’s going to be nasty. If anything, ’Meridional’ ended up inspiring us to continue moving forward and doing what we love to do. We also moved our writing space out of Atlanta this time for a new atmosphere where I live in Arkansas. We isolated ourselves a lot more and spent a lot of time together. We’ll continue working and will be recording in January with Jeremy Griffith again. We’re really excited and are having a blast.” Don't forget to check them out on their 2011 U.S. and 2012 European Tour!

Ancient Antarctic metal marauders GWAR will carry on with their plans to tour Europe in Jan. 2012, despite the recent death of guitarist Cory Smoot, during the bands "Return of the World Maggot Tour".

Said GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie a.k.a. Oderus Urungus-- "When Cory died, we all wanted to go home and take care of the family and our own grief. But the best way to do that is by playing all the shows we have planned. The response from the U.S. metal community and especially the whole international GWAR family has been overwhelmingly supportive...these GWAR fans need the chance to pay their respects to Cory, and cancelling any shows would deprive them of that."

"Let's make these shows a celebration of Cory Smoot, one of the most amazing players in metal...I am calling on the European GWAR family to get out there and drag everybody in sight to these gigs! We shall honor Flattus Maximus in the only way we know how...by rocking the fuck out!!!"

The Smoots, GWAR, and Metal Blade Records have created the "Smoot Family Fund", and GWAR and Slave Pit are calling on the metal community to support Cory's family in this tragic time. Donations can be made HERE.

"C'mon everybody from our rock star buddies to the most zit-covered bohab,"said Brockie. "Cory had a growing family that is going to need help-for a long time. Of course GWAR is doing everything we can, and we need you to help as well.

If you would prefer to donate to the Smoot Family Fund by mail, the address is:

Slave Pit Inc
C/O Smoot Family Fund
PO Box 5225
Richmond, VA 23220

The band has officially retired the character of Flattus Maximus, and will finish the U.S. and Europe tours as a four-piece. GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus had this to say about their missing lead guitarist-

"Flattus, without our permission I might add, has stolen our Skumship and returned to his beloved home planet, Planet Home. So once again we are marooned on your miserable planet!"

For 27 years GWAR's relentless tour schedule and bristling release schedule have been evidence of the bands fanatical dedication to not only their fans but metal itself. GWAR's decision to continue on with these tours has put that dedication to the test like nothing before. Now more than ever they need your support. HAIL FLATTUS, AND HAIL GWAR!

New Jersey's powerful cutting edge rock band Thursday will be hitting the road for a series of absolutely riveting North American live performance. The revered and influential band will be touring in support of their latest release, the critically heralded Epitaph release No Devolución. They will be joined on the first leg of the tour by Southern metalcore outfit Maylene & The Sons of Disaster and on the second leg with Philadelphia art rockers MewithoutYou and the New Jersey trio Screaming Females.

To kick off the tour, Thursday is premiering the newly remixed track “No Answers” from this year’s No Devolución by Big Black Delta (http://www.bigblackdelta.com, bbdlp1 Out Now), the solo project of Mellowdrone vocalist / bassist Jonathan Bates. Bates has recently remixed songs for M83 and Daft Punk; and you can listen to the song HERE.

On their sixth studio record, the influential band entered the studio with producer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT) to create an enthralling and explosive sound merging elements of post-rock, indie rock, art rock and experimental music with Thursday’s post-hardcore roots to create a beautifully cathartic sound unlike anything before. Live the band’s set has only grown more enthralling.

“New Jersey hardcore act Thursday upstaged the headliner. Their latest Epitaph Records album No Devolución, is their best to date and finds the musicians re-teaming with producer Dave Fridmann. Its well-executed 45-minute set featured thought-provoking projections on a screen (black-and-white instructional medical and atomic bomb films, Soviet cartoons from the ’50s) and an ample sampling of the new songs, which all came off mesmerizing.” – Live Review, Orange County Register
