Spiritual Chaos Discusses of EPs, Singles, and Creativeness!

Go getters SPIRITUAL CHAOS met whilst the formation of the band was happening, but since then they have gone on to release not one but two EP's, with newer singles out sometime this year! The band discusses the music making process, content, and pushing themselves forward with promotion, music, and much more to come soon.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band's name was originally created by our lead guitarist Anthony DiFiglio. He took two albums he loved: “Spiritual Healing” by Death and “Systematic Chaos” by Dream Theater, and morphed them into what is now our name, Spiritual Chaos. It was brought up to the rest of the band and we all felt the name was fitting for the sounds we were creating.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We don’t consider ourselves bound to a specific genre however if you take all of our sounds we could be classified by others as melodic metalcore. However, there are many elements in our music that we label ourselves as just a metal band. We all decided this was the style of music we all wanted to play as we all love the aggression in this form of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all really met while forming the band. Two of our members met years before the band's creation but then lost touch for a while. They reconnected at a show that came through town and then decided to get together. Everyone else met at the time of the first band's practice session back in 2022.

4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re based right out of the heart of Tampa, FL. Ther music scene here is honestly really refreshing and thriving. There’s a show essentially every weekend with all styles of music going on. Some of the bands we’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with who we’d highly recommend listening to are Reverya, Noctus, Izora, Wirethrone, Fiends, and Aperion Bound. There are so many more honestly. Florida is just radiating with talent.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We all love being able to express ourselves in unique ways. Each member has their own reasoning on why they get inspired. Most of us are inspired by those before us such as the artists we admired growing up. We then come together and collaborate. Making sure to get a good blend of everything we pull from and create something entirely new.

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Our songs cover an array of emotions. We write about the human experience in all its forms. Topics can range from self doubt, to depression, trying to speak sense into a friend, to never giving up on yourself. Just depends on what ever we felt like writing about and what’s going on in our lives. Often times, even in those themes, they are written on a personal level from lived experiences.

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

We take pride in the music we create. All of Spiritual Chaos’ discography has been written entirely by the band. We don’t have one specific way of writing our songs. Any one of our members can bring up an idea and we’ll all collectively look at it and decide what’s best. Oftentimes, we’ll just jam and have something cool that gets cooked up. We sorta just let the creative process take form organically. Nothing forced is ever going to be good and because of that we make sure that we like what’s being made. If we’re fans of it, more than not, others will be too.

8. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released two EP's since we formed back in 2022. Those being “Beyond Language”, 2023 and our latest “Desolate Dreams”, 2024. You can expect going into 2025 that we will release some singles and perhaps in 2026 work on our first full length. None of that is concrete at the moment however. The music industry is unfortunately entirely based on releasing singles, no matter how cool it would be to just drop a full album at once, it's counter productive to do so until we reach a certain peak as a band where that could benefit us.

9. Do you have any new music in the works?

We do have some singles we're working on later this year (2025). Our full EP “Desolate Dreams” was released in December of 2024. We plan on doing some content creation for the cycle of this EP before dropping anything new.

10. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Nothing is set in stone for the moment. Currently we are playing shows here and there. We do however, want to get down to South Florida since we’ve yet to play that region of our home state. We're looking to book a few runs that go up into southern regions of the United States such as hitting Atlanta, GA and other similar cities..

11. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Hopefully one day, we will get on the tour package of a lifetime that changes the trajectory of our band. For now, realistically we will continue to push and promote our art for people to discover and enjoy. We’re gonna increase our online presence while building a community/fan base for people to be involved in. With all of that, we’ll continue to write more music and push ourselves even further as creatives.

12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our music is on all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc.)  If you wish to support us, we have some really cool merch from our online store. We really appreciate it and thank you so much! The links to both can be found at the links below:
