Fake Figures - They Must Be Destroyed

Quite a bit of talk has been said about Fake Figures an act that features members from notable bands like Atreyu, Hotwire, Nations Afire, and Scars Of Tomorrow. While having formed in 2011 and released their debut EP "Hail The Sycophants" that same year they wanted to blend the elements of alternative, metal, and punk keeping an undertone style from the late 90s era. When that ended up working to their fullest efforts they decided to change things up. After a few years had passed they re-entered the studio to work on the follow-up release another EP entitled "They Must Be Destroyed". This one featuring the debut of drummer Steve Ludwig of Nations Afire and writing contribution from guitarist Heather Baker. While this release does take a departure from the experimental sound from the first EP this new material takes a step into the direction of how the band sound have sounded from the start. Songs like "You Stupid Beast", "The Light", "Normal Life", and "Sit and Burn", provides that formula that other bands have tended to use except the way Fake Figure's have done it; makes it a lot more fresher and creative, having it sound more to their own appeal and having an advantage of creating their own version and vision of this particular style of music. "They Must Be Destroyed" is a superb follow-up edition and surly whenever a debut full-length appears it will be just as good if not better.
