Lovesick Radio's David Harris Talks Nothing BUT New Music

Ohio pop punk alternative rockers Lovesick Radio got their start a while back but since have made their way around including MTV's show My Super Sweet 16 doing a performance at one of the Birthday goers party's. That took their musical careers further and now the band is in the studio writing and recording and mixing up their newest album to be released soon. One of the members David Harris discusses the band's upbringing and new music that they have been working on.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

David: The band came together after my previous band came to an end. I was out and Josh our bass play ran into me spilling his drink literally. We started talking after that, about music and he mentioned Justin. The funny part was that I ran across Justin singing on MySpace, so I thought he had a killer voice but I didn't know he was the same guy til much later.

2. Where are you from?

David: The band is from Ohio. We are currently on the west coast finishing up our new record and we're about 99% done with it.

3. Do you think not being from a big city like LA or NY influences your sound?

David: Well we write about life whether it's something we're going through or something we see someone else going through. So I don't know if it affected our sound at all.

4. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

David: Our original drummer was going through a break up and he came to rehearsal one day to talk about how everything on the radio was just lovesick and driving him crazy. We all just looked at him and said we have our name.

5. How would you describe your style?

David: It's a mix between rock 'n roll, roots music, hip-hop and pop. So imagine Aerosmith  got in a fight with the All-American Rejects but decided to form a band instead.

6. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

David: I don't know if you truly have a theme lyrically. Our first record dealt with a lot of relationships. Wehter with somebody you care about, somebody you hate,  somebody you want to forget, somebody you want to meet. So I guess life would be a theme that runs through the music.

7. Do you write your own songs?

David: Yes we write our own songs. Sometimes we might work with another outside writer just to get a different perspective but we always write our songs. We also may cover a song here and there for fun but we are an original band.

8. What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?

David: Our first single went on the top 50 radio charts. We're very proud of how it did and how our 1st record was received. We're really excited to get a new record out there for every one to hear! It's gonna kill. It's a very honest record and some of the best work we have done as a band thus far.

9. Do you guys have any new music in the works?

David: As I mentioned earlier in the interview our new record is 99% done. We are mixing now. The first single should be out in a month possibly. We're so excited to get this record out. It's a very true rock & roll record with influences from everything that we like.  It's very us, very honest , very true to where we are at the moment and it's really really catchy.

10. What made you guys decide to form a band?

David: We love music. We had instant chemistry writing , Justin and I. I kind of feel like this is what I was born to do and I suck at everything else so I don't really have a choice.

11. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

David:  Well our first single will be coming out in hopefully a month. Then we go back to China then make it over to Japan and Europe and tour our asses off in America as well. Then of course put out this new record.
