Lost In Atlantis's Liz Speaks Of Touring Plans and Latest Winnings

Lost In Atlantis is a female fronted Electronic/Rock Band based in Phoenix, Arizona. LIA consists of Elisabetha Rosnowski, Tim Pinedo, Eric Pinedo, David Allen, and Ryan Streeter. Since forming they have played countless showcases and tours being featured on various TV appearances plus recently winning YouTube's Musicians Wanted Competition. Frontwomen Elisabetha Rosnowski or "Liz" discusses the band's win with the YouTube contest and upcoming touring plans and what they do on the road!

1. Congrats on winning YouTube's Musicians Wanted Competition. What was running through your mind when you heard the news? Where were you when you heard this news?

Liz: At first I didn't answer the phone because I didn't recognize the number. I was at Disneyland at the time in line and I listened to the voicemail they left me. As I was listening I started jumping up and down and everyone in line was looking at me funny. I then started yelling we won the YouTube competition!!!! I called them back right away and they told me " I think we are about to make your Disneyland experience even better"!!!! Which they did of course!

2. How does it feel to be coming out to Los Angeles, California to make this music video and do you have an idea as to which song will be picked?

Liz: We had the great opportunity of being able to pick out whichever song we wanted. So it's going to be off of our new record "Lover Freak". The song we went with is called "Zombie Love" and the video for it can be seen HERE.

3. Do you guys have any new music in the works?

Liz: Yes, we just recently released our album called "Lover Freak" with producer Erich Talaba. He's recorded with artists like; Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy, Anberlin, Sarah Bareilles etc. We also just filmed our first single "Zombie Love" with director Raul Gonzo from RSM media. The music video will be released really soon!!!!

4. You guys will be going on tour soon enough what have you done to prepare yourselves for this tour?

Liz: We are all getting into shape because being on tour takes a huge toll on your body. Especially with Type 1 Diabetes I've been trying to eat really healthy and take more control of my health before we hit the road. We've also been playing some shows with bigger bands like Sick Puppies and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus to get back into the groove of things.

5. What other bands will be joining you on this tour?

Liz: This will be our first DIY tour so it's going to be ourselves and the road. On our other tours we've played with bands like Halocene, Gabe Kubanda,Take Me to the Pilot and School boy Humor (now Beneath the Sun).

6. Is there any song that when you play it live on stage makes your adrenaline levels kick in and make you want to go hyper?

Liz: I seriously think that's every single song we play. My band members have to remind me before the set to calm down and focus because I can get out of hand on stage sometimes. Haha!

7. When it comes to performing each and every night does the time stand still or does it fly by when performing?

Liz: Time seems to fly so fast when we are performing. A 45 minute set seems like 5 minutes. Time flies when you're rocking out and enjoying life! Also, there are moments on stage when I stand in front of the crowd of people and soak in all their love and passion. That's when time stands still. That moment when you and the audience connect.

8. What is one special effect or stage prop that you would want to use or see during your shows?

Liz: Lasers. Lots and lots of lasers!!! Let's not forget our fog machine too!! It creates epic-ness!!!

9. What has been the biggest banner that you have used during any of your tours?

Liz: Our amp scrims are on both sides of the stage and they have our CD design on it. I think they're about 6 ft by 6 ft.

10. Where haven't you guys toured or played but you would like too?

Liz: I think anywhere in Europe and China or Japan!

11. What would one expect to see from one of your shows?

Liz: Passion and a LOT of rocking out! You have to come and see for yourself.

12. Describe your show, visually and musically for us.

Liz: Visually we have our own stage boxes, stage banners, lasers and fog machine. Depending on the venue we can either look really rad or semi rad lol. Musically we consider our music to be rocktronica. A perfect blend between rock and dance music. So expect to dance and head bang or mosh at our shows!

13. What do you do to get ready for a show?

Liz: I like to do vocal warm ups and drink tons of H2O. I stretch a tiny bit and then hit the stage.

14. What’s the best and worst shows you've ever played?

Liz: I don't think there is any show that would be classified as our worst. Sure we've been effed over by promoters but everything is a learning experience. Our worst shows can become our best experience because we've learned not to make those same mistakes as before. On a side note, our best shows would have been when we played Vans Warped Tour 2013 on the Kevin Says Stage for a little over a week. It has always been my dream to be able to play at VWT. Being chosen by Kevin Lyman himself was truly a blessing!

15. What do you miss most from home when you’re on tour?

Liz: We all miss our mommies and daddies. Sometimes we have mommy phone calls and you find all of the band members calling their moms at the same time. We all miss our little fuzzy animals at home too. But we meet a lot of them on the road too so it kind of makes up for it. We also have a lot of tour moms all over the world who've opened up their hearts and homes to our band and spoiled us on the road.

16. Have you noticed the economy affecting your tour attendance or merch sales?

Liz: Yeah. Well it really depends on where we are playing. We sell the most on tour but when we are home it's harder to make sales.

17. What are the largest and smallest crowds you've played in front of?

Liz: Smallest crowds probably have been like 4-10 people and our largest have probably been 1,000.

18. What was the first concert you attended as a fan?

Liz: The first concert I've even attended was Britney Spears when I was about 13 or 14. I still love her haha!

19. Once the tour is over what do you have planned afterwards?

Liz: More tours! Always and constantly being on the road. Hopefully a bigger band wants us to hop on a tour with them.

20. Anything else you'd like to add or want to say?

Liz: Don't forget to keep your eyes open for our new music video "Zombie Love"!!!! "Like" us on Facebook.com/LostInAtlantis and Instagram #LostinAtlantis. Thanks for the interview. :)
