Lunison Talks of Album Debut, Show Plans, and Memorable Music!

Indie rockers LUNISON have a debut EP out and about, with a handful of single's, as well as their debut album out this late summer! The band talks of these releases, upcoming show plans, and the love of music, creating something most memorable as possible.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We’re a three-piece indie rock band that formed in 2023 with Matt Vantine as the group’s lead singer, songwriter and guitarist. Patrick Pinawin is our drummer. Greg Antonelli is our bassist and back up vocalist.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Lunison is a combination between the words lunacy and unison. Matt Vantine thought of the name after observing that all of the greatest works of art are often fueled by a controllable amount of lunacy and chaos, but require harmony and a certain degree of perfection to blossom.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re from Philadelphia. The music scene here is great and we’ve made some friends in the Philly music scene along the way. We’d recommend Judah Kim, Ridge Runners and Quick Chills. We’ve shared bills with these bands and can attest to their excellence!

4. How would you describe your style?

Some of the bands and artists that everyone in our band can agree on are The Beatles, Steely Dan, Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, Prince, The Strokes, Elliott Smith, The Rolling Stones and Geese. I’d say we approach our songs with those influences in our musical palette.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

In 2024 we released our first EP called “See Me As A Friend” and then began writing our upcoming album, “Fakepink” which drops on Friday, August 8th 2025. We’ve released 2 singles from “Fakepink” so far: “Candles” and “Shelly’s Room”.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We’ll be releasing one more single from our upcoming album on Friday, June 27th 2025. On Friday, August 8th 2025, our first full-length album “Fakepink” will arrive!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Our album release show is on Friday, August 8th at Milkboy Philadelphia with Pep Rally and Nick Lombardo & The Decent OK.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We are aiming for a level of commercial success that is based on our recorded music. We’re on a mission to create the catchiest and most memorable music possible—the kind that soars through your ears and into your head to make this life a better experience.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

All of our music is for sale at https://lunison.bandcamp.com/ , but if you want it for free, it’s available everywhere else.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We love music. Our music comes from a place of passion. Matt Vantine's lyrics reflect his coming to terms with life and his ever-changing relationship with the crazy world around and within him. Lunacy + Unison = Lunison.
