Austin/Chicago-based instrumental doom metal band CANYON OF THE SKULL is proud to be playing the 3 Floyds Dark Lord Day 2018 festival on Saturday, May 19. The huge annual festival is one that 3 Floyds holds to release the year's batch of Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout to the public, an incredibly rare and esteemed beer the world over. In addition to CANYON OF THE SKULL, this year's lineup includes DYING FETUS, PIG DESTROYER, REVOCATION, ALL HELL, and BRAIN TENTACLES.
The gig will be a particularly special one for the band, as they will be performing as a quartet for the first time ever. Drummer/percussionist Adrian Voorhies and guitarist Erik Ogershok will be joined by Todd Haug (POWERMAD) on bass and Bruce Lamont (BRAIN TENTACLES, YAKUZA, BLOODIEST) on saxophone. CANYON OF THE SKULL will perform at 1:00 pm. The event takes place at the 3 Floyds Brewery grounds (9750 Indiana Parkway Munster, IN 46321).
CANYON OF THE SKULL has also announced a West Coast Tour with Dallas-based progressive black/doom metallers GIANT OF THE MOUNTAIN, which will take place June 15 - July 1. A definite tour highlight will be the bands' June 22 appearance at the highly anticipated Stygian Rites Fest IV (June 22-23) at the Hay Camp Brewing Company in Rabid City, SD. Dates are as follows:
