JILUKA Conquers California with First U.S. Tour!

Electro goth metal band out of Japan called JILUKA has already made a previous appearance in Los Angeles, California this past summer during Anime Expo’s festivities; playing July 3rd for a single U.S. show back then. Now a few months later the band has returned to the U.S. once again to Los Angeles for their first official U.S. tour! Kicking off in October into November spanning four cities Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York!

First stop on this tour would be Los Angeles, California at the Teragram Ballroom in Downtown Los Angeles, a general all ages standing room only venue, fitting a maximum of 625 people. Featuring a 30-foot stage, a balcony normally closed, three bars with drinks and food menu, with a large enough space to have quite a sizable amount of people inside it’s walls.

With that said, the doors did not open at 6PM as the website would state but instead open after 7PM, having an opening band play for roughly 30 minutes, getting the crowd hyped up before Jrockers JILUKA would hit the stage.  They would make their presences known come around 8:30PM performing til after 10PM, so for a good hour and a half roughly. As the music deemed and lights as well, each of the band members walked upon the stage, the crowd cheering and shouting as loudly as possible. Afterwards the band went on to perform an extensive amount of material, including have a drum solo featured during their performance.

There was a minor mosh pit chaos happening, with some pushing one another, with others banging their heads, to jumping up and down. During the performance the singer called for a “wall of death” where the room was split down the middle, and all chaos unfolded having everyone clash at one another at once! It was totally fun and so much excitement happening there was no telling what would happen following this, except more fun!

Having this being the first time seeing these guys live, it was a lot of fun, capturing yet another Japanese band live in the flesh. Jiluka was heavy and raw, with an in-depth sound to them that made the music intense, yet melodic, with their electro rhythms. It made the music upbeat and danceable at times, making their whole set-up entertaining and just so much fun.
