Otherworldly Entity Talks of New Music, Playing Live and More!

Heavy melodic rockers OTHERWORLDLY ENTITY have a debut album out there with a follow-up EP expected soon enough. The band talks about their array of content and what they have planned next for themselves.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Otherworldly Entity started as John Harris and the Otherworldly Entities in 2018. Formed by singer John Harris and guitarist Zlatko Grozl, the band started playing in support of Harris' solo album DICHOTOMY, but over time, the group took a life of their own. In 2019, the band changed its name to OTHERWORLDLY ENTITY and started on a new journey.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

“Otherworldly Entity has always been a reference to those things that we don't understand. Those things that our outside of our grasp. Ghosts? Aliens? Conspiracies? It could be anything that goes bump in the night and accesses the deepest, darkest recesses of the human mind.” -John Harris

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Otherworldly Entity is based out of Syracuse, NY but has been spreading out across the Northeastern United States lately. With a difficult music scene in Syracuse itself, Otherworldly Entity has found more of a home in the Western New York cities of Rochester and Buffalo where the music communities are more supportive and engaging. Playing with metal bands like Fight From Within and A Greater Danger, Otherworldly Entity seems to fall in between alternative rock and heavy metal, often landing in the category of nu-metal.

4. How would you describe your style?

Sounding like a blend of Deftones, Korn, and Cold, Otherworldly Entity reminds their listeners of the darkness through both heavy riffs and melodic interludes.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

In 2020, Otherworldly Entity released their debut album Cataclysm which was nominated for numerous awards and resulted in the band signing to Curtain Call Records. In March 2022, Otherworldly Entity released their first new song on the label with a visually stunning music video.

“Monster Inside You is our adventure into a heavier sound, but we still try to maintain our positive mindset and message.”-John Harris

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Following their release of Monster Inside You, Otherworldly Entity is planning a new EP release before the end of 2022 to be released under Curtain Call Records.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Otherworldly Entity is also planning on hitting the road before the end of the year, playing festivals all over the country. After playing Metal in the Mountains in Pipestem, WV in 2021, Otherworldly Entity has made it a goal to continue with the festival circuit. On May 14, 2022, Otherworldly Entity will be playing with the legendary nu-metal band Cold in Rochester, NY at the Montage. This is the band's third time playing with Cold.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We plan on playing live a lot more. We want to tour and play festivals.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen and shop for Otherworldly Entity music and merch in our online shop at www.OtherworldlyEntity.com/shop

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We always want our fans to just be genuine. Be human. We want you to feel with us.
