Collateral Beauty Discusses Debut Efforts and New Music!

Alternative hard rockers COLLATERAL BEAUTY is a duo act, whose time together has given them the time to release their most recent debut of a track, with more content of tracks in the works currently. That is all that's been in the works as of right now, and the band discusses all about it below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Collateral Beauty is composed of two members, Josiah White and James Carlisle. The idea came after the indefinite hiatus of their previous band due to covid and it seemed to just develop from there.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

That’s a hard one to express into words. I suppose the best way to express it is the fact that everyone goes through pain throughout life, traumas, scars that cannot really heal. They are scars on our soul and we get to choose how they affect us. Whether we grow or rebirth. Those scars create who we are. Out of the ashes… The Collateral Beauty.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend? We are based out of Dallas, TX. Solid scene overall.

4. How would you describe your style?

Alternative, as even our debut track has been described as both “Heavy Metal” and “Dark Folk” so hard to say. If I had to pick one, it would be Alternative Hard Rock.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

So far our debut track was released on March 10th 2022. We have a few tracks in the works that should be out in the coming months. We try to tell a story with each song. Thirteen has been described as “a dress rehearsal for a planned drowning” and that was very much what I was going for. This was written from the perspective of a kid caught in between the toxic relationship of his parents. The sinking ships pulling the passengers down with it.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have 5 songs done, just working on recording, mixing and planning.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

None at the moment.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

What anyone wants, to release music that people can relate to.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

All streaming services, including TikTok/Instagram/YouTube and Facebook.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Nothing. I want them to relate to it in their own way.
