Accept's Wolf Hoffmann Talks Touring, Touring, Touring!

Heavy metallers Accept is act unlike any other tracing their beginning's back to the late 1960s even. Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann had some time on his hands to talk with me about the band's upcoming co-headlining tour with thrash metallers Kreator. He says "It is our first tour with two German bands together which we've never done before so it's going to be very cool especially having Kreator touring with us." He goes on to discuss his life on the road with Accept and what they have planned afterwards.

1. How amazing do you think 2012 has been for you as a band so far?

Wolf: Oh it's been tremendous we just released our new album this past April, we had a tremendous tour all over Europe and we can't wait to kick off this U.S. tour which we're about to do.

2. How does it feel to have thirteen albums under your belt?

Wolf: Ya know it doesn't feel like it to me. I'm surprised by how many we actually have that it's crazy that I don't listen to our own music unless I have too. Then I have to rediscover those songs and it's hard to believe that we've even done them.

3 You will be a part of a co-headlining tour with Kreator and Swallow The Sun. If you could think of one thing you would like to accomplish the most through that tour what would that be?!

Wolf: Just to reconnect with the fans. It's not our first or last tour but it is our first tour with two German bands together which we've never done before so it's going to be very cool especially having Kreator touring with us. They are a legend in their own minds having a thrashy aggressive style than what we do. But I think it's going to be a very strong package.

4. What have you done to prepare yourselves for the tour?

Wolf: The same we always do play, get ready, just get ourselves strong for this huge tour, the trucks are packed, tour buses are rolling, so we are ready to go!

5. How easy is it to keep the motivation going on a daily basis for Accept?

Wolf: It's very easy because you have an audience waiting for you because as they say a show must go on! We're all in this for the fans so there's your motivation it's always fun to be able to do this so it's a very unique and awesome situation to have it's not a job to us.

6. Once the tour is over what do you have planned afterwards?

Wolf: This is going to be the first part of the tour, this part lasting for the first 5 weeks then we're heading off to Europe then going to Asia, Japan, and Australia so it will bring us up to Christmas time by then. So it will be pretty exciting for the next few months lots of travel days ahead.

7. Is there any song that when you play it live on stage makes your adrenaline levels kick in and make you want to go hyper?

Wolf: So many classics and great songs great stuff on "Blood of the Nations" but usually the newer the songs the excited you get. But for us it's hard to tell which is old and which is new. We try to write stuff that falls between the lines of the old school stuff we wrote years ago.

8. When it comes to performing each and every night does the time stand still or does it fly by when performing?

Wolf: It flies by sometimes we wake up and the show is over. I think it sounds like a lot being on stage for 2 hours but the time you're done it's already over.

9. What is one special effect or stage props that you would want to use or see during your shows?

Wolf: Whatever we really want we use there really isn't anything we can't have or want. I think nowadays it's more about the relationship of the band and performance than the production stuff.

10. What has been the biggest banner that you have used during any of your tours?
Wolf: I have no idea there all huge!

11. Anything you want to say to your fans?

Wolf: It's a great honor to be on stage and tour again. Being able to reconnect with the fans and our band Accept is better than what we were before, so come see us out in California in Hollywood and Anaheim because we're really excited about it!
