Epitome Discusses New Music, Shows, and More!

Grindcore, death metal band EPITOME have been together for a while, releasing quite an array of content, another album is expected sometime in 2024! But for now, the band has plans to play some shows, and want listeners of music to just enjoy their works. The band discusses these matters below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Dyvan: The band was founded in 1992. The current band members are:

Dyvan - vox

Misiek - guitars

Kishka - bass

Dan - drums

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Dyvan: There is no greater history in this aspect that could be cited here. Musically, it was just supposed to be a "epitome" of fucked up grindcore. :)

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Dyvan: EPITOME comes from Rzeszów. There are a lot of bands on our local scene, it would be too much space to list them all here. I recommend having a look at the Metal Archives, there is almost everything about it. ;)

4. How would you describe your style?

Dyvan: Simply - it’s a mix of grindcore and death metal in different, variable proportions. And that's unlikely to ever change.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Dyvan: Currently, EPITOME's discography consists of two demo tapes, a split, and four full albums. The latest album "ROTend" premiered on September 9, 2022 via Deformeathing Prod.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Dyvan: Yes, we are currently slowly working on a new album which, if nothing gets in our way, we would like to record in 2024.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Dyvan: We are planning to play a few concerts this year, mainly in our country, and we will also play at one of the summer festivals in Slovakia. However, we are working on more shows.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Dyvan: We are not the youngest people anymore, so we don't care about reaching the top of the charts ;) However, we will be happy to torture our listeners as long as possible. ;)

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Dyvan: You can listen to our music on Spotify

Here You can buy our stuff:

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Dyvan: The most important thing is that anyone who comes into contact with our music for the first time must know that we do not take prisoners. ;) We grind meat until there is nothing left of it. ;)
