Captured By Robots the One Man Band with Robotic Assistance!

Started in the late 1990s out of 97-99 roughly, founder Jason "JBOT" Vance had composed the music which was hard rock early on but later changed to grindcore, hardcore, heavy metal, would take on the corruption, anti-religion, and society of our U.S.A. and flip it on itself, with his one man act run by himself and his drummer and guitarist robots! Yes actual robots programmed to perform LIVE at his shows when time commences, and the time is now!

The "Time's Up Dickbags, It's Fuck Shit Up Time" Springtime tour for 2026, going across the west coast, for this particular tour, in which the band hasn't done a U.S. tour since around 2022. But now, the band has gone on tour, making the rounds across California for now, stopping in Los Angeles County, at a record shop in Cypress Park called Permanent Records. An actual record store with a store in the front mixed in with a bar, and a backyard with a mini store in the back, with a mini porch of more vinyls for sale, mostly vinyls up for sale at this store front.

But regardless, the band Captured By Robots had a rough start not playing until roughly around 8:15PMish as opposed to 8PM, but once they started things didn't let up until 9PM, where the band ended it all. During their performance though, they kept the momentum going, the frontman Jason giving a lot of backtalk and interaction with the crowd, going his spill of discussion about the U.S. and how its run, government, religion, all that stuff, getting everyone's opinion. At times he even jumped off the stage, into the crowd, this spot being quite small, so the crowd didn't mind pushing him around.

The two other members being the robots, were quite the attraction, they talked digitally of course but still had some laughs. The technical aspect with them being able to move to create the music was entertaining and rather interesting. They kept to the beat and made the music sound heavy yet intense through and through. For that time span it felt longer than needed, but so very fun to witness if not seen beforehand.

Captured By Robots is a fun band, creative, and highly entertaining to catch at least once in person. Online media is good but seeing these characters come to life on stage is so much fun.
