Slipknot Brings a Sold Out Crowd to the Intuit Dome for a Friday the 13th Special Performance!

Nu-metal act Slipknot announced back in the spring that they would be embarking on a celebration of sorts with their 25th anniversary tour of their debut album. Going on to perform such album in full on said tour. Except they would switch up the set list, so not play the album completely front to back as it would play normally, but still play it as such. The band would make it’s way to California in Los Angeles playing at the new venue called the Intuit Dome, where they would headline and not perform until roughly 9:30PM until about 10:30-45PMish. Playing 14 songs, to a sold out audience. On what day, of all days Friday the 13th in September 2024!

From start to finish though, the band was upfront with the crowd frontman vocalist Corey Taylor stating “To all of the newer Slipknot fans, we won’t be playing anything past 1999 Sorry”. Because tonight’s performance was strictly a blast to the past with this 1999 set up, in their attire of the classic originally red jumpsuits down to playing that debut album, that the band had mentioned of not being able to release at first glance, but eventually it saw its way out and about. With that, the band played such songs as “Wait and Bleed”, “Spit It Out”, and “Surfacing”, as well as others like “Eyeless” and “Scissors”. The whole band went crazy with the lighting effects, having the venue’s seating light up with the lights playing off each other, making the room glow with various hues of reds, greens, and blues.

SLIPKNOT:

During the band’s performance they would take minor breaks in-between songs, but still captured the audiences’ attention with catchy material, that was a total throwback to their apparent 1999 persona. Would Slipknot be an act to see at least once, most definitely; was tonight’s performance as captivating as it said it would be? Pretty much so, hearing this debut album of theirs played in full was an experience, but just a tad rough not hearing a roundabout of their whole catalog of other songs, “Before I Forget”, “The Heretic Anthem”,   “Duality”, “The Devil in I”, “Psychoscial” and “People = Shit” among other fan favorites that should have been done, with the band perhaps doing the debut album set, for one hour, and then a fan favorite set for a following hour, doing a 2 hour block of Slipknot’s material as a whole. But that was not done, still not as bad though, because Slipknot does put on a good show.

Slipknot’s go at a 25th anniversary tour, for their debut album is something you’d have to see to believe it, because it likely will not happen again. This night, was a night that all fans of all ages were glad to be present, because its Slipknot, one of the nu-metal greats of the 90’s era, jumping on that ban wagon of metal goodness of fun!
