Creep It Real OC Brings Out the Spookiness From LA to OC!

For all things spooky, is when fall is upon us, or in some instances all things revolving around Halloween may be all year round! This is a thing for some of us, and Los Angeles County celebrated it this past spring with their “Spooky Swap Meet”, and this year’s 2024 edition being year four. Later on in the year come the fall time, would be Orange County’s turn with their own take of a similar spooky event called the “Creep It Real OC”, both events happening at the Heritage Museums of each owns country. Los Angeles’ had more vintage Victorian houses as opposed to Orange County’s, having some scattered here and there. Both events dwell on the same thing, all spooky and Halloween through and through!

Having attended both takes on this spooktacular way of life, OC was the fun this time, experiencing their own ways with this event, having a magic show, band play, and vendors of appeal, stickers, bags, posters, flags, toys, keychains, a wide range of items. Including snacks, food items, and beverages, one of which came in an actual Jack O Lantern keepsake! This was a very popular item, a lot of the people in attendance carrying pumpkins around drinking from them! The band in question playing on the Sunday and last day of the 2 day event was one called the Radioactive Chicken Heads, a punk rock band, whose act is a bunch of chicken’s fronted by a giant mutated vegetable. The ban being active for quite sometime, doing shows and touring every so often, that this weekend’s festivities brought the band back out, and got their rock on, with three different sets, each getting the crowd’s approval.

Their performance was funny, upbeat, and entertaining, the kids and adults alike, cheering to their antics, with the members having numerous characters come out and interact amongst the crowd of on lookers, getting a reaction of joy and fun. The music being punk rock, that’s catchy, mellow, yet fast at times, that kept the energy within the band active yet fun. They are a band that you would have to pretty much see them to believe them and the whole ordeal revolving around this radioactive mutation of creation.

All in all, Orange County’s Halloween take on a spooky fun event is worth the admission, because this weekend was completely sold out! Lots of people showing up, buying stuff, and adoring themselves with scary goods, to creep it real as the event is named after.
