Lovebites Brings Heavy Metal to Los Angeles, California for the First Time!

Back in spring of this past year, Japan’s heavy metal act Lovebites made the announcement of three U.S. dates come the fall of this year, taking place in September, these dates following their debut in the U.S. at the Progpower U.S.A. a metal festival happening in Atlanta, Georgia. This touring trek would be titled “The Thine Line Between Love and Hate Tour”, beginning September 8th, 10th, and 12th. On the 10th of September they would make a stop in Los Angeles, California playing at the Echoplex, not The Echo where they were originally going to play but venue changes were made and good thing that they were, because the show was a success! As much in fact, that a majority of the merchandise was sold out!

Doors were opened at 7PM with the band playing precisely at 8PM, playing for an hour and 15 minutes roughly, almost an hour and a half. Singing about 14 songs including such as “Raise Some Hell”, “Judgment Day”, “Don’t Bite the Dust”, We the United” and “Glory to the World”. The band played a solid set, with awesome riffs, solos, with powerful vocal chords, that kept the crowd hyped from start to finish! The crowd was mellow at first glance, but after some songs were played through the mosh pit opened up, and everyone there, myself included were enthralled with energy through and through.

The interaction with the crowd was flawless, lots of hand movements, waving jesters, jumping up and down, to shouting, it was endless. Lovebites brought the energy and angst with themselves, and it made everyone entranced by their presents. Japan knows how to do music, and these girls, being an all girl band, knew their stuff, kept everyone entertained and it felt alive and free.
