Letters From Pluto Discloses New Single and Future Plans!

Combining such as pop, rock, and electronic together, Letters From Pluto just isn't your ordinary type of act that comes out of this world. Oh no, they are one to be on the look out for out in the outer reaches of our very world. "Stop and Stare", is their most recent working's that have caused a rumble since it's video's conception of release. Thus with that being said, the act discloses the matters of that single, and what else they have in mind to do for this year!

1. Give a brief history of your band, and the members.

Hi, I’m Letters From Pluto! I’m a pop artist from Canada who is obsessed with space and all things sci-fi!

2. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Choosing my name took a lot of thought and was quite the process! An artist’s name is how people are first introduced to you and the first thing they know about you, so I wanted to make sure it fit me as a person and as an artist. I also wanted to be an astronaut as a child, so that helped! Haha. While choosing my band name, I was thinking about how Pluto was a poor rejected/ex-planet. I had a very vivid mental image of Pluto sending love letters to earth, just wanting to be loved. Once I said the words "Letters From Pluto" out loud, I immediately knew I had my name. It was literally an Eureka moment!

3. What genre does the band play and why did you want to play this particular genre?

I’d classify my genre as alternative Pop. The alternative side comes from the dash of electronic and rock influences in my music. It’s hard to explain why I play this genre. I just create music I want to hear and hope other people enjoy it as well!

4. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I’m a solo artist, so every day I get to know myself and my music a little bit more! :)

5. Do you write your own songs?

I most definitely do! I find they’re much more personal to me when they come from experience.

6. What are the songs about?

They’re all different and range from a series of emotions depending on what was going on in my life at the time. They’re all about personal experiences, or situations I’ve seen unfold with friends and those close to me. Sometimes I look back at music I’ve written as a snapshot in time of where I was. My last release, "Stop and Stare" is about someone that can’t take their eyes off you, for one reason or another.

7. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

I have some musical influence that are favorites of mine. The big 3 for me in no particular order are: MUSE, M83, and Coldplay. For me, my love of those groups only grow over time and I’m always excited to hear their new content. I’ve also become obsessed with Milky Chance over the last year or so.

In terms of non-musical influence, honestly it’s the world around me. I read something online, I’m out and about for the day, I’ll be in nature, or I hear someone say a line that stands out to me. Influence is everywhere! All you have to do is listen and take time to slow yourself down. The world moves so quickly, if you don’t take time to settle down your thoughts, they will run away from you.

8. What releases do you have under your belts thus far into your career as musicians?

I released my very first EP as Letters From Pluto in 2016. In 2017 I released a single titled, "Cold Right Now", which ended up getting played across Canadian and some European radio, which was so exciting! And this year I’ve released my current single, "Stop and Stare"!

9. Do you have any new music in the works at this time?

I do actually! I’m planning on releasing another single this fall - so keep your eyes peeled! And I also have another single on the burner, I’m figuring out when I’d like to release that. I’m always writing new music.

10. What other plans do you have for this year?

As I mentioned above, I’ll be releasing another single later this year! I’ll be planning a single release party for that and be promoting that single as much as possible! Afterwards I’ll figure out my next release schedule, writing more songs and performing!
