Dir En Grey Cancels U.S. Tour

Japanese rockers DIR EN GREY released DUM SPIRO SPERO (The End Records) in August of last year to critical acclaim and wrapped up 2011 by conquering the globe with their pummeling and artful live performances on tour.

Unfortunately, after extensive examination of his vocal chords and under recommendation of frontman KYO‘s physician, DIR EN GREY has regretfully cancelled their participation in “The Still Reckless Tour” and solo shows scheduled between March and April 2012.

The band has released the following statement to their fans and those involved in the tour:

“To our fans as well as the other bands and staff involved in the tour we extend our sincere apologies. We ask for your understanding that this was an extremely difficult decision to make. Thank you all for your continued support, which is deeply appreciated.”

This news follows the January announcements by the band that they would be joining “The Still Reckless Tour” also featuring Asking Alexandria, Trivium, I See Stars, Motionless In White and The Amity Affliction. They were also slated to play a pair of solo headlining shows in Seattle, WA on 3/7 and St. Petersburg, FL on 3/20, as well as reissue their 2008 album UROBOROS. News on the forthcoming release of this essential DIR EN GREY album will be announced soon.
