North Carolina metalcoe metallers To Speak Of Wolves was founded by Phil Chamberlain who's been with the band since the start and spoke to me about the band's last release and all new upcoming release "Find Your Worth, Come Home". Along with discussing the band's all new frontman Gage Speas who replaced former vocalist Rick Jacobs. Chamerlain adds that his band is now better than ever before and wants everyone to know about it and go and check out his band on the upcoming amount of tours they will be part of this coming summer.

1. So why the name To Speak of Wolves what does it represent for the band?

Phil: We came up with the name by jamming with some friends and thought the name wolves would be cool but there are a ton of bands with that name. So we started throwing around a lot of other ideas and at the time we had seen the movie The Village so we took that type of concept and went with that.

2. What is the new album called?

Phil: It’s titled “Find Your Worth, Come Home” out May 22nd on Solid State Records. It will also come out on Vinyl and has 11-tracks that we’re super stoked about.

3. Would you say that this album is a concept album?

Phil: It is not technically a concept album but the theme revolves around Gages rough times in his personal life with him finding himself out of a dark place and getting out of it.

4. What are your songs about?

Phil: For the most part the whole record is about Gages struggles and finding help through his family, friends, so that’s what it’s about revolving about that story.

5. How has the band’s sound evolved since your last release?

Phil: I would say it’s really different having a different singer since we got a new one. Gage is a way better fit and writing process is different than before. Everything went well and we’re all excited about it and it’s the first record that sounds better and polished. It also seems like two different bands if you haven’t seen us live and is different than our first. We went to the studio Glow In The Dark and takes an aspect of their own with capturing the music and everything about it makes it a whole lot better and touring together always makes it better.

6. Did you feel any pressure for a follow-up?

Phil: I think a different type of pressure but we put the pressure on ourselves and move into new life we wanted to be sure and be happy with each part so we didn’t want to rush anything. So we took our time playing these songs so everything turned out really well. Most of the pressure came from us and wanting to get everything out on the record to sound ok.

7. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new album? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

Phil: Sure we have a track called "Stand Alone Complex” and it has guest vocals on the bridge of The Sleeper and that’s how we met our new singer at the time he was working with them. So when we wrote it we were excited about it and crazier and chaotic and while we were recording that band came out through on a tour of theirs and we played the song and some guest vocals happened and was awesome. Gage was excited about it too because they’re such good friends of ours. Another track is called "Rearview Memories" that also has guest vocals on it; we wrote that song when our friend’s dad had passed away so we structured a song around that. But it all turned out really awesome and we’re proud of it.

8. What are your expectations for the CD?

Phil: I have no idea we want as many people to hear the record and tour as much as we can. Maybe you can relate to what we have to say on this record we expect it to be something and play as much as we can and have people enjoy it.

9. What are your upcoming plans?

Phil: We’re doing a full U.S. tour before the record comes out then have a bunch of festivals in the summer so just a bunch of touring.

10. Anything else you'd like to say or promote?

Phil: Thanks for the interview and all of the support and hopefully see you guys at some of our shows sometime.

The HELLOWEEN machine is on a roll again and the the recordings for the follow-up to 2010's 7 Sinners will run until the end of 2012 with a tentative release being early 2013.

Says guitarist Michael Weikath: “Right now we are busy with finalizing the songwriting process and are getting ready to take the accumulated ideas into a final selection for the new record. Everybody in the band is excited and eager to take what we have worked on so far to the next level."

According to a press release, "The new production will again be helmed by long-time producer Charlie Bauerfeind and will of course contain all the trademarks. Already in this early stage the new effort promises to be much more than a fine follow-up to the highly acclaimed Gambling With The Devil and 7 Sinners albums. Bombastic epic pieces have been worked on as well as ultrafast heavy songs and mid-tempo anthems."

Stay tuned for more news from the studio.

Tomorrow sees the long awaited release of Carved Into Stone the highly anticipated new studio album from PRONG. The band recently filmed a video for the song "Revenge...Best Served Cold"; it was directed by Scott Hansen (Unearth, Whitechapel, Wretched). The video is being exclusively premiered today on Noisecreep. Get a first look at the video HERE.

The song "Eternal Heat" is streaming courtesy of Metal Insider HERE.

The song "Ammunition" is available for streaming HERE.

PRONG worked on their Long Branch Records debut with producer Steve Evetts. PRONG (whose lineup includes bassist Tony Campos and drummer Alexei Rodriguez) has taken a major step forward in their constantly evolving brand of sonic schematics.

Carved into Stone is quintessentially PRONG. It stretches into the band's earliest and dirtiest foundations on which the band was founded on New York's Lower East Side to the present as a staple of today's post-metal and rock scenes.

Thrash metal lives on when it comes to Denver metallers Havok and their all new release "The Point Of No Return". This EP features two new tracks and 2 cover tunes overall its a solid piece of work.

The EP starts off with the opening title track that really smashes your face in with its fast pumping guitar riffs with truly driven drum tactics that really directs the music to the upcoming future for these guys. Whilst "From the Cradle To The Grave" continues this momentum only heighten it just a tad. Now the two covers offered includes Sepultura's "Arise" and Slayer's "Post Mortem and Raining Blood" these covers alone are well done with extrensive amounts of energy and influence to back them up.

All in all Havok keeps the thrash metal scene alive and well and will dominate the rest of the world piece by piece.

Bloody Disgusting, hosts the exclusive premiere of “Kingdom of Tyrants” from CATTLE DECAPITATION’s forthcoming Monolith Of Inhumanity studio offering. The disturbingly twisted 9-minute mini-film was directed by Mitch Massie with live band footage shot in San Marcos, California by Tyson Montrucchio.

Comments singer Travis Ryan: "We've kicked around the idea of doing a mini-film out of a song that has a big intro for years now and when I saw Mitch Massie's work on one of our friends' videos, we knew he would be the one to pull it off. We had no idea he would bring it to a level such as this though. The ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ mini-film completely leveled our expectations. Having given him director styles I would have liked to see used such as Matthew Barney, Harmony Korine and Ridley Scott, I still never assumed we would have received something so in line with what we had in mind for this as what you see here with this video. It's disturbing. It’s thought-provoking. It’s 100% CATTLE DECAPITATION and in the direction we've been heading. Massie is the man and this is by far the best video we've ever had the pleasure to be a part of."

Adds director Mitch Massie: "I acknowledge that I will rightfully burn in some subdivision of Hell for even attempting a rough tribute to Kubrick, but at least I will make Hell a home with CATTLE DECAPITATION and a few other damned risk-takers as neighbors. When Travis and I spoke about the concept it was a comforting fact that he too had reservations about picking fruits from the Kubrick tree. It wasn't until the first night of production was over and we sat down to watch the shaky rough footage when a rather sardonic thought sparked the flint that ignited the funeral pyre in me, ‘fuck it, while we are here, as parts of our generation that dry-humps references in an over-saturated landfill of technological trinkets -- where nothing is sacred -- anyway, we might as well bury the rest of the masters in the filth they inspired in us and enter our homes justified. I'm a soulless ginger anyway so what do I care about these new risks of damnation when I never had a chance to begin with?’ Every move made in a music video production is dictated only by the song and when listening to the ‘The Monolith’ and/or ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ can one truly feel it is anything but a beautiful damnation? I will never know but can only hope that I married images with the song so well that the monolith may swing back around with a chance to evolve, or completely de-evolve into some foul animal, and do another damned project for this incendiary and all around amazing band."

Check it all out HERE.

Edge Of Attack is an act that crossed my path a while back with the single release of the track "Forever" from then on their music stuck with me and since we last spoke the band has grown in more ways than once.

With the release of their self-titled debut the band has changed members written all new material and the recording for it came out well for them. Some of the songs on this release that stood out above the rest includes “Forever”, “The Damned”, “The Haunting”, and “Crimson Rain”. These tracks alone really showcases the band’s ability as musicians, having the music be straight forward but raw from start to finish. Lyrically the context is meaningful but powerful keeping the listener to the groove of the beat of both words and music being played here.

Edge Of Attack’s debut indeed a raw case of aggression mixed with plenty of power and emotion written all over it.

Popular girls like Frankie Stein and Cleo de Nile are acting weird-and all signs point to everyone's new favorite teacher, Miss Sylphia Flapper. Can the new GFFs expose the fave as a fraud, or will they succumb to peer pressure?

About the Author:
