Swedish band GHOST is one of those you would look and think twice after seeing their appearances, some guessing as I had done, thinking their style would be somewhere within the "metal" pool of genres, possibly even "Black Metal", but you would be slightly right, they are metal, considered heavy metal crossed with rock n' roll. Being around for 20 years now, having seen them live twice myself, first time ever in 2023 as a part of their "Re-Imperatour" that was filmed for a live DVD at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, the final nights of it, that first time was quite the experience, filled with laughs, effects, and loud productions with pyro tactics, strobe lighting, and costume changes, a lot of the same was done with bringing forth the newest and latest tour the "Skeletour World Tour 2026", based off the band's sixth album "Skeleta" (2025).
Now this and that last tour had a no phone policy, meaning that all phones and other digital devices even tech glasses, watches, were to be tucked away in a locked-up pouch, for the entire performance, the band being the sole act of the whole evening both times. This disheartened the fandom, but it did not leave them totally disappointed, because they still had such a blast of a time, it's what Ghost does best! But in short, hence the “lack” of photos of their live set, no tech, no imagery to showcase.
This tour would make a stop at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Saturday February 21, 2026, to a sold-out audience, with various ages from young to old, kids to adults, all shapes and sizes. The band would be the sole perhaps of the whole evening, no opening act needed. The band would perform from 9:15PM to roughly 11:15PM, almost two hour set list, with 21 songs total. Lots of the same jabs would commence, strobe lighting, screen effects, fire tactics, confetti, with lots of music!
The audience would sing-along to a number of the songs performed, with a lot of them, banging their heads to the beat of the tunes, to others, cheering with everything happening, such lighting works done, with the band’s logo shined atop the crowd, with the singer having his take with remarks, joking and so forth. The band also having their corny antics it caused quite an entertaining evening. Some of the band's songs included were such as "Satanized", "Rats", "Kiss the Go Goat", "Mummy Dust", "Umbra", "Year Zero", and "Square Hammer", to name off just a few.
All in all, Ghost as a band isn’t for everyone, but they do have a decent following let alone fan base as it were, with them gaining much more for many more years to follow them. Or as the singer puts it, "The Future Is a Foreign Land".
