Five Crumbs Talks of New Tunes and Other Plans in the Works!

Alternative rock wave band FIVE CRUMBS have their latest single titled "Monster" out, with more single's and even an EP planned for  this year! The band goes on talking about their music, and other plans in the works!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We founded Five Crumbs in December 2017. Since August 2019 our current lineup consists of the members Richard Ruß (vocals), Markus Schukowski (lead guitar), Niklas Samland (rhythm guitar), Franz Borjan (bass guitar) and Lars Steinfurth (drums). What started out as a simple hobby for all of us progressed into a really meaningful part of our lives. We are constantly working on new song material and really give it our all when it comes to music.

2. What's the origin of the band´s name?

We have five completely different personalities. On our own we are just small fragments - crumbs, if you wanna put it that way - but together we become this band that’s so passionate about music and that really wants to transfer the passion to their listeners.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band’s based in Greifswald, a town in the northeast of Germany near the Baltic Sea. Since it’s a student town full of young people, we have a really diverse music scene. There are lots of rock and metal bands out here. The alternative rock band “Dias” from Rostock is definitely a local band worth checking out! As soon as we are able to play concerts again, we want to play shows with the band “Walking Rumor” from Denmark, another recommendation from us.

4. How would you describe your style?

We have set out to create a modern and unique sound. The combination of rock music with elements from different styles outside of the genre makes for an exciting listening experience. With the vision in mind to progress our sound continuously, we don't shy away from experimenting with unusual sounds.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Both our EP releases ("Fall Awake" and "Prisoners") were produced in cooperation with the established producer Jeffro Lackscheide and quickly reached 30.000 streams on Spotify. Only 3 months after our first EP we already added another one to our catalog. Contrary to most other bands who become softer and softer with their upcoming releases, we decided to take another route with our EP „Prisoners“. With blaring guitars, an impelling drum sound, punchy bass lines and a distinctive voice we managed to combine energy, melodiousness and sophisticated lyrics in an unique way. Our single “Monster” is the latest addition to our catalog. It’s about fighting your inner demons and overcoming hard times. You can expect energetic music that makes you want to move on the one hand and messages that make you really think on the other hand.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We do. Our latest single “Monster” was released May 29th 2020 and we have two more singles and an EP planned for this year. Stay tuned for more music by us!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Due to the current situation with COVID 19, we can’t play concerts unfortunately. But we are planning to play more live stream shows. We currently did one at the Pfingst Move Festival 2020 hosted by Festival stalker and it was a really great experience!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We’re currently working hard on new songs so we can release our first album in the future. Also we want to go out there and rock more live shows and party with our fans at concerts. It’s so great to see the love for our music from all over the world through messages on our social media accounts. Performing our music live in these countries at some point would be a dream come true.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to our music here:

For now, we don’t have a official merch store. We’re working on opening one soon but for now, if you really want to get merch, just shoot us a DM via Instagram or Facebook. ;)

10. What’s the most important thing that should be remembered when hearing your music for
the first time?

Of course it would be awesome for us as musicians if the listeners would notice all the dynamic changes, moods and messages of our songs after the first listen. But what’s really important to us is that the listeners feel something that make them want to come back to our music. Whether that’s a lyric that made them think, a riff they really liked or a bridge section that got them moving. Evoking an emotion or a feeling after hearing our music for the first time is the most important thing in our opinion.
