Waiting for Zombies No More

Waiting for Zombies is a four piece alternative/pop/grunge band from Henderson, NV. Jon Olinger - drums. J Vice - Bass. Jimmy - Guitarist and songwriter. Perky - Singer and everything else. We are currently playing shows while also currently recording all new music for our EP. The entire band took the time to talk about this EP and showcases and other plans!

1. What type of band are you guys?

An awesome one! Some might say we are a drinking band with a rock problem.

2. Where is the band from?

We reside in Las Vegas, NV.

3. How did the band get it's name?

We wanted a band name that could apply to everyone, and the way we see the world, everyone is
waiting for something. Some people are waiting for their next paycheck, some are waiting for love,
and some are even waiting for some form of an afterlife. But us, we are just Waiting for Zombies.

4. Do you write your own songs, what are your songs about?

Yes we do write our own songs. Although all of our songs are different, we do try to obtain a
unifying theme of not giving in to the status quo or becoming one of the masses (zombie). Even in
the sense that counter-culture itself has become a conformist ideal.

5. Who are some of your musical influences?

Our musical influences vary from member to member, but overall we are influenced by grunge,
punk, and alcohol. :)

6. So what can you tell me about this new EP?

Perky (vocals) "It's going to rock your socks off!"

7. What title did you deicde to go with it and is there a meaning behind it?

The title of the EP is going to be 'Night'. Although most of our music never actually refers to Zombies
in a physical, gory, kind of way, We would like to pay tribute where tribute is due when it comes to
our name. So the title of our first few EP's will most likely be in subsequent order of the George A.
Romero Zombie movies.

8. Is this EP going to be a concept release?

No.

9. Where are you in the recording process of the new EP?

We are in the final mixing and mastering of it.

10. Who is producing the EP? How has the producer aided the recording process?

We are a self produced band. We enjoy the DIY aspect. J-Vice (Bass) "We like to do it alone,
when no one is looking."

11. Where are you recording the EP?

We are recording the EP at a good friend of ours, Anthony Ter Avest, personal studio.

12. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process
began for this EP?

To put it simply, just to be heard.

13. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Yes all of our instruments. Just Kidding.

14. When did you start writing for this EP?

Jimmy Young (guitar) is the writer of the songs. "I would say that last year around this time is when I
started writing for this particular release."

15. Did you feel any pressure to do this release?

J-Vice (Bass) "We have been feeling a lot of pressure to release *wink wink*".

16. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new EP? If so, can you give us the track title and brief
description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

The main single of this EP is called 'One Day' We use this song to show our signature time changes
and catchiness. Another song to look out for is titled 'Number C' which is also a catchy song with
bright vibrant chords. A lot of people ask us about the name of Number C. The song is about
standing up for your rights and beliefs no matter what they are. And the name came from the
apartment that the band used to live at. Our mailing address was #C, we thought it was hilarious
and since we couldn't come up with a title for that song, we just dubbed it 'Number C'.

17. How do you think the vibe in the studio will go?

The vibe in the studio has been amazing so far.

18. When can we expect the new EP to be released?

Hopefully in the beginning of June. We have a show for the lead singer Perky's Birthday, and it
would be great to have physical copies of the album by that time. Although it will be released online
before then.

19. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?

More music of course! Shows, releases, humor, and an all around good time for everyone.
20. Is that your final answer?

I would like to switch my answer to Number C! :)
