Enrico Sarzi's debut album "Drive Through" is due out November 17th via Street Symphonies Records / Burning Minds Music Group, distributed by Sound Trek in Italy, AnderStein Music in Japan and Plastic Head in the rest of the World. After 13 years spent as frontman and songwriter in hard rockers Midnite Sun (with two records released and lots of live dates), and after the prestigious experience with Moonstone Project (and the guest appearance in Shining Line), Enrico Sarzi is finally realizing his dream: "Drive Through", his first long awaited solo album.

From the first to last note and from the first to last word, everything was written by the Italian singer himself in order to show his multiple influences: from the British hard rock of the 70's to the Seattle sound of the 90's, well mixed with the typical 80's melodic approach (especially for refrains and keyboards, all professionally arranged by Marco Micolo), and without forgetting a bit of classic Italian and international pop music, another of his biggest influences. Enrico loves to call "Drive Through" as "Easy Hard Rock", thinking of it as a "dinner between Bad Company, Alice In Chains and Adèle... but back in 1985".

After Midnite Sun's split-up, Enrico immediately started working in order to resume some old songs that never seen the light before (being unsuitable at that time for the style of his old band), and to compose some new stuff as well. In the end he came up with eleven songs: ten in English and one in Italian language. Afterwards, he brought in some of his old Midnite Sun musicians, like guitarist Cristiano Vicini, drummer Alessandro Mori (Mitch Malloy, Axe, Ted Poley, Issa, Lionville, Viana, Kelly Keeling), and bassist Marco "Sappa" Nicoli (Tragodia, Nightglow, The Unripes), here also involved as producer of the album.

Even though it was a "solo" record, the arrangements of the songs were made as a real and full band work. More welcome guests involved are sax player Stefano Avanzi on “Strange Freedom”, and pianist Alberto Valli plus singer Luciana Buttazzo on the Italian song "Cielo".

"It feels like Enrico and his mates simply sat down in the studio to jam, to enjoy songs arising from pure inspiration" said Luca Zakk, editor of Metalhead.it, in the cd booklet liner notes of "Drive Through".

The idea of title "Drive Through", inspired by Formula 1 car races (one of Enrico's biggest passions), means that every major step in life must inevitably go through a sacrifice, a penalty and forced step in a back road (this is what "Drive Through" means in motorsports). With enough passion, even the darkest trials can be faced alone.

GRAMMY® Award winning, acclaimed singer-songwriter and Smashing Pumpkins frontman, William Patrick Corgan announced today that his second solo album Ogilala will be released on October 13, 2017 via BMG. The album, produced by Rick Rubin and recorded at Shangri La studios in Malibu, presents Corgan's distinctive vocals and melodies across a sparse, but rich palette of acoustic guitar, piano, and strings. Pre-orders for Ogilala start today HERE.

"For as long as I can remember the delineation point between songs I wrote for myself and songs I'd pen for whatever band was something I couldn't explain. And it remains so, for they all feel quite personal to me, no matter their time or era. The lone difference on songs for Ogilala is that they seemed to want little in the way of adornment," said Corgan. "Having written the songs for voice and guitar, I put myself in Rick's hands to take the music wherever he'd like. Normally I would have done more, and tinkered more on production, but rather Rick put the onus on me to deliver at a molecular level via live takes. The rest was simply a reaction."

Corgan also released the album's striking first track, "Aeronaut," in all DSPs. Fans who pre-order Ogilala will receive an immediate download of "Aeronaut." Ogilala will be available digitally as well as physically on CD and 180 gram gatefold vinyl. A limited edition opaque blue vinyl will be available directly from Corgan's web store and a limited edition pink vinyl will be available at select indie retailers.

Singer and songwriter Kimberly Freeman has announced her third solo album, Secret Lullaby, set for release on July 1, 2017. Perhaps best known as the guitar slinging front woman of rock band One-Eyed Doll, Freeman is exploring new sonic territories on Secret Lullaby, including progressive rock leaning tracks (“Rust,” “Cream and Sugar”), heavy piano ballads (“The Thief,” “Journey Of Art”), and even R&B-inspired beats (“Amnesia”, “The Missing Link”). Teaming up again with longtime producer and bandmate Jason Rufuss Sewell, the pair have created a magical and colorful collection of songs unlike anything they’ve released thus far.

Jason Rufuss Sewell says, “We spend a lot of time in the studio. In fact, it's our favorite place to be and sometimes we get very creative and make songs that just don't fit in the One-Eyed Doll rock drums and guitar vein. Over the last few years we've been crafting this Secret Lullaby concept and we're both really excited to let our fans hear what we get up to when we don't set any limitations or preconceived notions of what style of music we're ‘supposed’ to make, and just let our creativity flow. One-Eyed Doll is still going strong, and we have some big announcements coming. For now, we hope our fans will appreciate this very special album.”

To coincide with the announcement, Freeman has released a music video for the single “Rust,” which is featured on Secret Lullaby. Freeman explains of the track, “‘Rust’ is the tale of a ship who falls in love with her captain and hopes to keep him with her at sea forever. In his loneliness, the captain loses his mind and follows the sound of a siren, plunging the two to their tragic fate.” The imaginative music video for “Rust” can be seen here: https://youtu.be/avYGEuYFr7k.

Freeman ties her natural knack for storytelling into the album explaining, “I'm often inspired by other people's stories, and Secret Lullaby goes there a lot. Most of the songs aren't about me, and some of them aren't even told from the perspective of a human. Each song has its own special background, but here are a few examples:

‘The Missing Link’ is the true story of Oliver, the so-called, ‘Humanzee’ who was kidnapped from the jungle, exploited by his handlers and touted as the missing link between humans and chimps. He was eventually abandoned to an infamous animal testing lab for years, where he went blind. Eventually, he was rescued and taken in by a sanctuary called Primarily Primates in Texas, where he met his best friend and fellow ex-lab chimp Raisin. In this song, Oliver tells Raisin the story of his career as the Humanzee, his time spent in the lab and finally, his meeting of her. I was inspired to write this song after meeting Oliver and Raisin at the habitat. Oliver was a very sweet chimp, and so was Raisin. They were really cute together, like a little old couple.

‘Hoof Horn Tooth Claw’ is told from the perspective of a young pregnant pygmy goat who doesn't understand the changes that are occurring in her body. Jason, my producer and bandmate, had a goat farm when I met him, so this song reflects a little bit of that time and place in our history.

‘Lions and Lilies’ is a memorial to Jason's late grandmother who had a beautiful garden of lilies and lion sculptures. She was a brilliant woman, multilingual, owned a translation company and had her own cooking show on Telemundo. The only lyrics are, ‘leones y lirios,’ in tribute to her love of the Spanish Language.

‘Journey of Art’ is told by an old dog who was both blind and deaf. His owner, Art, was a kind man who loved him very much, but who's untreated Schizophrenia made him unintentionally neglectful of both his and the dog's health. However through the years, they were inseparable best friends. Very shortly after the dog died, so did Art.”

Unbeknownst to most, Freeman has a Secret Song Club that only a handful of die hard fans have been invited to join. A few of the songs featured on Secret Lullaby have been leaked there, and fans who pre-order the album will receive an invitation to the club and gain access to the several unreleased tracks, and receive instant access to the first single, “Rust.” Fans can pre-order Secret Lullaby at https://kimberlyfreeman.bandcamp.com/.

Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way will release his debut solo album, entitled Hesitant Alien, on September 30th via Warner Bros. Records. The new album will be available for pre-order at all digital retailers beginning Tuesday, August 19th. Exclusive album bundles will also be available for pre-order on GerardWay.com on the same date. Fans who pre-order the album will receive the track "No Shows" instantly as a free download. The music video for "No Shows" will also be released on August 19th. Please see below for the full track-listing.

Working with producer Doug McKean, Way knew immediately what he wanted Hesitant Alien to sound like. "I wanted to make the small things sound big," he says. "My intention was to make 100 percent uncompromised art, using the currently least radio-friendly instrument, the guitar. I knew there would be lots of fuzz pedals. I knew I would play Fender instruments. I knew I would look at who my guitar heroes were in art school, Mary Timony and Carrie Brownstein, and I drew a lot of influence from shoe-gaze and Britpop. I want the record to sonically galvanize people."   Hesitant Alien was mixed by Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys).

Lyrically, Way wrote about what he knew at the time, "which was struggle, beginnings, finding a newness in the mundane and the abstract," he says. "I looked to the Britpop poets like Jarvis Cocker and Damon Albarn, drawing upon every day life. I also experimented with the abstract, and looked at Frank Black's work both with the Pixies, and as a solo artist. There was no concept and no call-to-arms."

Fans will get their first listen to some of the songs on Hesitant Alien when Way performs his first solo shows at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England. He will perform at Reading on August 22nd and at Leeds on August 23rd.
