California metal veterans IMPENDING DOOM have announced a new song titled "The Wretched and Godless" exclusively via ALTERNATIVE PRESS. The new track is the first song being released from the band's all-new album due this summer, and the first bit of new music fans have heard in over 5 years.

"The wait is over! After 5 years, we're happy to be back with a new record," says the band. "We wanted to write a heavy straight to the point record that our genre of music seems to be lacking today."

IMPENDING DOOM will release their sixth studio album called "The Sin and Doom Vol. II" on June 22, 2018, via Entertainment One. The new album will be the widely anticipated follow up to "Death Will Reign" (2013), which sold 4,300 copies its first week of release and debuted at 116 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

"The Wretched and Godless" is available on all streaming platforms as well as an iTunes instant gratification track. Meaning, fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive "The Wretched and Godless" as an immediate download.

IMPENDING DOOM commissioned artist Colin Marks (Fleshgod Apocalypse / Whitechapel) to do the cover art for the latest release. Marks had also done the artwork for "The Serpent Servant" (2009).

Southern California juggernauts IMPENDING DOOM have entered The Machine Shop (SUICIDE SILENCE, LAMB OF GOD) in  Belleville, NJ this week to start working on their next LP with producer Will Putney. Bass player David Sittig weighs in on where the band stands in the process:

The material is our best and heaviest work without a doubt. The chemistry between the five of us this time has been different and very unique. Our original guitarist Manny Contreras re-joined the band and we all could not be happier with what he has brought to the table. This is the Impending Doom album you have been waiting for!"

IMPENDING DOOM has announced a fresh batch of tour dates this summer. Kicking off on July 5th in Little Rock, dates will run along the south and south west. Support duties come from WITHIN THE RUINS, MOLTOV SOLUTION, ERRA and TO EACH HIS OWN.

IMPENDING DOOM just finished a very successful run supporting DEVILDRIVER, JOB FOR A COWBOY, THE FACELESS, DYING FETUS and others on the METAL ALLIANCE TOUR. "The Serpent Servant" released in 2009 was what drew me towards Californians Impending Doom. But after the release of their follow-up release "There Will Be Violence" the following year the band fell out of what they previously created. Then no word was heard from them until now with the release of their fourth album "Baptized In Filth". This being the first effort to be released with eOne Music and it promises to be not a disappointing one. In fact co-founder and vocalist Brook Reeves says that "This record is a lot darker. It's scary and eerie sounding," going on to add that "What we've wanted to capture with most of our stuff - from our sound to our appearance, artwork and stage presentation - is an overall tone [drawing from] the darker side of music. There's some experimentation and newer elements that we've introduced on this album as well."

With that said the guitars, drums, and vocals really commence what this album is built upon, the energy is flawless using material that Slipknot and Lamb of God is known to create and using it to their own advantages, Impending Doom has developed a more aggressive tone returning to what they had before. Songs like "Murderer", "For the Wicked", "Deceiver" and even power ballad "My Light Unseen" is really what captivates Impending Doom's musical approach and direction.

“Baptized In Filth” is one of those releases that will live up to the past and look onto to the future.

IMPENDING DOOM has released more details surrounding their release "Baptized in Flith." The cover art, seen above is explained by Bassist David Sittig, "Baptized in filth represents the mindless indulgance and self worship in the vile world we live in. This album is meant to scare the hell out of you!"

The band will release their brand new full length album entitled "Baptized in Filth" on March 13, 2012. Produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Machine this is the bands fourth full length and most ferocious effort to date.

Impending Doom shall we not be scared by hearing this name? I think not because that what it is, is just a name right? Impending Doom's bassist talks to me about the band's upcoming plans and newest album set to be unleashed upon the masses soon!

1. How did the name come about?

David: Our lead singer thought of basically he liked the name “doom” but doom is already a band name, so the name came to him one night because it means without God our lives on Earth are impending doom.

2. How is the current album going?

David: Good it comes out in 2 days out on Tuesday.



3. How did the title, artwork, and lyrics come about?

David: The title with the first song we wrote was a while ago back in June and we started playing it on the last tour and after that tour we had to think about the new album and then named the album after it. And our singer Brooke and had an idea of how he wanted it to look.

4. When did the band form?

David: Our first show was October 31st 2005 and the band formed in 2005 as well and we’ve been going strong ever since.

5. When was the first show you played?

David: Well I’m not a originally member I joined 6 months after the band started, and my first show was performed in Coroa,California at the Showcase Theater I was pretty nervous, and that show was with All Shall Perish and The Faceless and Underneath The Gun I’m not too sure but it was fun.

6. How’s the current tour going?

David: It’s going good, it’s a pretty long tour 6 weeks but everyday was pretty insane but the dudes of The Acacia Strain and Bleeding Through are super nice and fun to hang out with so it’s been a great tour.

7. Any technical difficulties during your performance?

David: Oh yeah happens all the time like a cable will go out or break a string that’s the most common one, that’s why you have to have a back up guitar handy.



8. What do you prefer seeing while performing, hardcore dancers or mosh pits?

David: Mosh Pit, not a fan of hardcore dancing if you have crush pits and everyone jumping just everyone having a good time.

9. How you getting along with everyone?

David: Pretty good no bad vibes really. We’ve known As Blood Runs Black, and The Acacia Strain for a couple of years now so it’s been fun hanging with them but Bleeding Through we never met until this tour but they’re accepting and nice dudes.

10. What are your plans after this tour?

David: We have a month off and then we do a week in Mexico and then come home for 3 weeks and then start our headlining tour in June. It will be us and Carnifex for sure.

11. Did you do anything for St. Patrick’s Day or Easter?

David: St. Patrick’s Day we played a show, and everybody in that city was running around drunk and wearing green and Easter probably be with my family.

12. Any final thoughts or comments?

David: Pick up our CD when it comes out “The Serpent Servant,” and yeah check it out!
