An Homage to Three Decades of Explosive Metal:

Napalm Records to Release BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT’s EP, Paint The Sky With Blood, on April 23, 2021

Pre-Order Your Copy HERE.

"Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish. Needless to say that we are  honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and unleash it the way he wanted it to. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself."

- BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT

In 2020, the news was flooded: Led by the extremely talented Alexi Laiho, newly formed supergroup BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT was about to become the striking successor to legendary metal band CHILDREN OF BODOM. Their sonic plans were massive – including an EP release in the spring followed by a full-length album later in the year.

The EP, Paint The Sky With Blood (out April 23 via Napalm Records), was recorded in Finland back in 2020 and was meant to be the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Sadly, that chapter ended far too soon, and now, the three-track piece embodies a whole new meaning. Paint The Sky With Blood is an overwhelming tribute to an outstanding artist and an exceptional sonic heritage – matchless late guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho – and at the same time, a modern homage to the genre itself.

A storm of raging guitars and blaring drums merge with Alexi Laiho’s versatile vocal power, leading into a heavy attack – title track “Paint The Sky With Blood” – opening the 14 minute EP of the same name. The track is strikingly reminiscent of early-CHILDREN OF BODOM elements, while also adding exciting modern influences into the fold. Second stunner “Payback’s A Bitch” and its massive riffing are on a quest for retribution, delivering a hard-hitting, second to none offense. The interplay of Alexi Laiho, guitarist Daniel Freyberg, drummer Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost), bassist Mitja Toivonen (ex-Santa Cruz) and live keyboardist Vili Itäpelto is not only a testament to the band's extraordinary musical ability, but also showcases their skill in deftly incorporating a variety of genre influences.

Closing cover track “Where Dead Angels Lie” is an absolute triumph – originally performed by Swedish extreme metal formation Dissection, the track shines as a timeless classic with a new edge. Eerie riffs and vocals alternating between menacing murmurs and characteristic guttural, distorted vocals stay faithful to the original while branding this version with an undeniable BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT punch.

TRACKLISTING:

2. Payback’s A Bitch

3. Where Dead Angels Lie (Dissection Cover)

Gothic rock icons The Awakening ended a 5 year sabbatical by announcing the release of their first new single since “Fault” off Anthology XV (2013). The new song is called “Shore” and is the lead single from The Awakening’s ninth full length album, “Chasm”. The band has just unveiled a rather extensive pre-order campaign for the new album, with a host of exclusive items guaranteed to please devotees, along with the newly initiated to the dark world of The Awakening. Hand written lyrics, signed CD’s and vinyl, merchandise bundles and a range of other dark delights await at www.theawakening.com/chasm. All orders include an immediate download of the lead single, “Shore” and access to weekly updates and exclusive content as the band gears up for the album release on November 26, 2018 via Intervention Arts.

Now based in the USA, The Awakening is a musical project originally from South Africa, founded by singer, songwriter and producer Ashton Nyte. The Awakening has released 8 albums to date, along with Ashton Nyte's 7 solo albums. Nyte has also contributed lyrics and vocals to recent releases by MGT (Peter Murphy, The Mission) as well to Michael Ciravolo’s Beauty In Chaos project, which features members of The Cure, The Mission, Ministry and many more.

Nyte has said that the primary motivation for The Awakening’s extensive album campaign is to see the band back on the road, on a world-wide tour in 2019. The band last toured with The Mission in 2016 on a 17 date sold out tour, spanning 12 European countries. “It feels magical to be putting out a new Awakening album again. Most of all I look forward to sharing the songs with the fans in a live environment again. That completes the circle for me.” - Ashton Nyte

Bristol-based alternative-rock trio, Oxygen Thief have shared the new riff-ladened single "Graffiti; Irony; Lists", alongside announcing full details of their new album, "Confusion Species", set for release on November 16th through Xtra Mile Recordings.

Confusion Species will be available on limited edition 12 inch transparent blue and orange with black splatter vinyl - Available from Oxygen Thief on tour, as well as a very limited amount through the Xtra Mile webstore. "Confusion Species", will also be available on 12 inch transparent blue at retail. Pre-Order here: https://oxygenthief.lnk.to/confusionspecies.

It’s been just over four years since the release of Oxygen Thief’s second album, "The Half-Life Of Facts", and the world has changed a lot in that time. In fact, a lot has changed since Barry Dolan started the project in Bristol back in 2006, and the 11 tracks of "Confusion Species" are the sound of him trying to make sense of it all, rather than be overwhelmed, lost and consumed by the sludge and noise of this modern, post-Brexit, post-Trump world.

“Everyone is constantly bombarded with things in the news and on social media" says guitarist and vocalist, Barry Dolan. “Your phone’s going off all the time and there’s a constant need to keep up with things. As someone who tries to be politically engaged, I want to stay informed, but there’s a point where that tide just becomes overwhelming.”

Pop-rockers Seasonal are set to release sophomore EP "Weathered" via Undead Collective Records on October 12th 2018. Available for pre-order HERE, frontman/bassist Matt Truseler sets the tone: “Our music has definitely evolved over the course of the year – whilst musically we still sound like the same band, we found ourselves enjoying writing higher tempo tracks. The title and artwork, a photo a friend of ours shot at Old Car City in the States, signifies our progression away from being a new project and really maturing our sound, taking it to the next step, as a band.” Now the band are here to give us further insight into the tracks that feature on the record, whetting your appetite for what’s to come...

1 – Strangers: Strangers opens the EP with what will strike as a slightly different sound to what might have been expected from us if you have heard our debut, ‘Bloom’. It is immediately more up tempo, and just a lot of fun to play live.

The track is about never knowing either of my father's parents and how it feels to know so little about what is normally a large part or everyone's lives. It raises thoughts of if we shared any characteristics, and the big question of what they would think of the person I have become if they could see me now.

When making the video we wanted to keep it simple and just document the day to day activities of people from the two generations in question. We were insistent that it had to be a genuine grandfather and grandchild to give it the authenticity we wanted. Luckily our good friend and merch guy and his grandfather were happy to be a part of it. It was nice that through the process of making the video for a track about having no memories of my grandfather, we were able to create a memory between these two.

The song is really important for us as a band in that respect and we’re really excited for people to see this video. It should warm the heart. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLsmsZuG3TA.

2 – Honestly: Honestly was the first track we wrote that appears on ‘Weathered’. It was one of those songs that in the writing process just flew together. It was shortly after recording ‘Bloom’ that this was put together (unusually for us) on the computer prior to jamming it together in the practise studio. We instantly fell in love with the bouncy feel the choruses had and the song lyrically so very little changed from the first demo we made.

The track was inspired by a breakup. Not quite the standard cliché though of slating an ex in a song if that’s what you’re thinking. It was done in an honest, up front way and was the best thing for both parties, and yet you still feel like you’re the bad guy.

The video was shot in black and white to signify that some things, decisions or answers are just black or white… yes or no. We were really happy with the result and enjoyed the style of individual performances of the song being combined in the edit to create the video as that was something we had not done yet. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahv29bU0joY.

3 – Drift: Drift is another track we wrote earlier on in the process, and recorded this at the same time as ‘Honestly’ with Oz Craggs. The writing process for this track was quite long and there were points where we were tempted to just leave it as some of the ideas from the track would undoubtedly reincarnate themselves in something we were writing in the future. We didn’t leave it though and after playing it at one of our shows and hearing our friends and fans comments on the new tracks we had showcased, we knew it was one we wanted to put on record.

The track is about being in the situation when you know someone has completely lost interest in you. It's uses the metaphor of a song that has been overplayed and has changed from something you used to love into something you have had enough of.

The track has a much more indie pop feel to the others and I think it really stands out from the other tracks on the EP, showing a bit of our versatility and that we are not just another pop punk band.

4 - High & Dry: We have been around the houses and back with High & Dry. It was actually a bit of a staple song we were playing in our shows at one point, but sounded a lot different. We just really enjoyed the track even in its original form and it was receiving a lot of positive comments at shows. We ended up changing it up and adding this really old school emo outro (think Taking Back Sunday epic moments) because, why not?

This is a song about betrayal. When you trust someone and think that you are both there to help each other; but you instead discover they are only looking out for themselves. It's about losing faith in a friend, being able to forgive but knowing that you won't ever trust or look at them the same way again.

5 – Twelve: Twelve is very personal song. It is about a tough decision that my girlfriend and I had to make 12 years ago. It talks about how tough it was to make such a decision at a young age and how despite knowing it was the right decision for us at the time; it still upsets you and leaves you wondering what if you had made the other choice. It was a hard topic to write about, but I felt it was important to, because it is easy to judge people that make these choices and assume they did so without a second thought, especially if you are the guy. But in reality it is often a really hard thing to cope with and made worse by the fact that people feel ashamed to talk about it because it is still widely seen as a taboo subject.

The writing process for this track musically was really quick and we had all the bits nailed in one practice session and threw it straight on the computer to start putting down some lyrical ideas. Each week we were playing it just musically; still happy with it and getting nearer to recording. I had been working on the lyrics for the track but didn’t really ever give away the content of the song until we were in the studio recording it. I hope people can hear the emotion that came through when recording this track.

Fans can catch the video (directed by Michelle and Justine Prebich) right HERE.

11/21 - 4th St. Vine, Long Beach, CA

"[The Robots Guide To Music] was a really fun and amazing body of music to record," says drummer and main collaborator Luis, who also performs as "Ringo" in Beatles tribute band Britain’s Finest. "We worked with some of Long Beach's best musicians and it was always a treat to be in studio, have a drink or two, and share stories. The recording part was a breeze—when you have musicians that know what they're doing, all you really gotta do is set up a mic, and let them go at it. We actually recorded 30+ songs (the rest for Volumes 2 and 3), so there was a lot of time in studio."

The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol. 2 is expected to see an early 2019 release. To stay current with all things Fellow Robot be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Eagle Vision will release Evanescence, Synthesis Live on DVD+CD, Blu-Ray+CD and Digital Formats.

Recorded late last Autumn during the band’s critically-acclaimed Synthesis tour, the concert was captured in state-of-the-art 4K by Director P.R. Brown & produced by Craig Ziogas/CTGS Productions.

The songs span Evanescence’s 20 year history to now, reinvented with full orchestra over a deep electronic landscape. Synthesis is a soulful and sweepingly grandiose event to witness live. Seated at the piano, Amy Lee opens the set with a single note that builds into the instrumental Overture, seamlessly leading into the crushing wave that is Never Go Back. Bring Me To Life, the anthem that brought most people to discover Evanescence in the first place, reaches a new level of power and emotion with a pounding, electric heartbeat and soaring orchestral accompaniment, while songs like My Immortal, Lithium and Lost In Paradise feel like heartbreaking scenes from a beautiful, timeless film.

Amy Lee’s incredible vocal range and the group’s expressive, multi-layered music naturally lends itself to orchestral accompaniment, shining a light on the singular beauty of the arrangements by composer David Campbell and conducted by Susie Seiter -creating a truly dynamic, cinematic sound. Lee has called this, “a passion project”, which undoubtedly shines through. The sense of occasion is not lost on the band or audience alike in this unique and highly emotive show.

Evanescence recently brought their Synthesis live tour around the world, delivering highly-acclaimed performances throughout Europe, North America and Australia. This summer, the band teamed with violinist Lindsey Stirling on a tour of North American amphitheatres, one of Live Nation’s Top 10 tours of the summer.

Post hardcore outfit Dead Lakes have announced their new EP, "Nothing Is Sacred", will be out July 20th. The three track EP was produced by Casey Bates (Pierce The Veil, I The Mighty, Portugal. The Man) and follows up on the quintet's last single, "The Devil Has Blue Eyes", which has garnered over 79k streams on Spotify in just a few short months.

"We are so excited to announce our debut EP "Nothing Is Sacred". The overall theme of the EP is realizing nothing is pure, or perfect," says vocalist, Sumner Peterson. "We wrote these songs in the fall of 2017. We were all growing, and dealing with day to day life. We tend to write songs in groups, and therefore tend to focus on whatever is going on in our lives at that particular time to properly write that feeling into the songs."

Along with the EP announcement, the band have premiered the lead track from "Nothing Is Scared" titled, "Eighteen Weeks".

Peterson added, "We decided to go back into the studio with Casey Bates. We loved working with him before, and we have loved so many projects that he's worked on. He was amazing on this EP, and has always been more than just a producer to Dead Lakes."

"Nothing Is Sacred" is available for pre-order on iTunes and includes an instant download of "Eighteen Weeks", find that HERE. Check out the new music video of that track over HERE.

AlterRed returns with the hard-hitting album titled "Trauma; Trauma Reinforcement". Definitely reflective of today's hostile world, "Trauma; Trauma Reinforcement" takes the listener down a dark path filled with rage, instability, resistance and angst.

This more aggressive AlterRed combines dirty guitars and heavy beats over thick layers of synths and noise. Their innovative sound was first introduced with the release of Breaking News and continues to morph on tracks like "Speed Test," "Wait for the Recoil" and "You Get Nothing."

Topping off this release is a cover of the Duran Duran classic, "Wild Boys." The new album "TRAUMA; TRAUMA REIMFORCEMENT", is out Friday, July 13 on WTII Records! Pre-Order the new album right HERE! Check out the album's teaser over HERE.

Ice Nine Kills will release their new album "The Silver Scream" through Fearless Records on Friday, October 5, 2018. The album's 13 anthems are based on 13 respective horror classics. The physical pre-order is available HERE.

The band has shared the cinematic video for "The American Nightmare," which is a twisted and tasteful homage to director Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The video provides a thematic feast for children of the '80's who grew up loving Freddie Krueger, the first film, and its sequels. It's accompanied by an eerie yet arena-sized hook that commands the listener to sing along.

The video was directed by Daniel Hourihan and is the first installment of an over-arching film that will be a counterpart to the "The Silver Scream".

Check it over HERE.

Anyone who has heard Anthony Anzaldo’s endowments to Ceremony’s sound knows that he has a story of his own waiting to be told. Wait no longer—Anzaldo has announced a follow-up to his 2017 single "We All Die Alone" under the moniker ANTHONY. Entitled "Get Over U", the EP runs rampant with the sugarcane sweet vocal harmonies and Morriconesque guitar tones. Watch a video for the EP’s title track today right HERE.

"It’s unfortunate what we allow to happen to our ourselves when we are driven by emotion. There are things that we wouldn’t otherwise justify and would advise against when consoling a friend of loved one," Anzaldo says of the EP’s inspiration. ""Get Over U" is a state of panic where we ignore what we know is right for us and instead act under the influence of false intuition."

ANTHONY’s self-assured blend of opulent riffs, art-rock lilt, and americana glamour makes for a radical departure from his well-known co-founding status and guitarist for Ceremony. As members of the California punk outfit splayed across the country, ANTHONY found it essential to crystallize his new artistic identity one song at a time. The crops of these auditory diary entries comprise "Get Over U", four tracks recorded by by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Hard Girls).

"Get Over U" is due out on May 18 via Anzaldo’s imprint First Letter Press. An extremely limited run of 12' vinyl copies will also be available for purchase - order HERE. Check out the artwork and tracklisting below.

TRACKLISTING:

1. Get Over U
