Hirax Steals Show for a Night of Thrash Metal in Los Angeles!
What a way to spend a Friday evening than with good old THRASH METAL! At The Regrent in Downtown Los Angeles, California is where several acts would thrash the night away. Upon arriving mid-show caught metal act Witchhaven, whose performance and presents overall was rather welcoming and nice. The band’s performance being intense yet fun, as the crowd cheered and thrashed about in the mosh pit with ease. Next up came another local act many on the bill being such, this one called EvilDead. Thrash metal like a majority of the rest, they brought the intensity mentioned prior up a notch. As the mosh pit spun about, crowd of on looker’s being pleased and excited. The band’s energy kept the music flowing, as metal fans alike, if not in the pit, were gladly banging their head’s to the beat of the music! EvilDead’s performance was well provided and lasted enough that all there were satisfied with the results.

Next up came one of the pre-headliner’s another local to California this one named Hirax. Getting their start in 1984, the band has been active since, performing and touring throughout over the years, playing locally whenever possible. This show tonight was the band’s second official show back due to the pandemic being every ongoing. As the band kept the energy ever going, all there went berserk. The mosh pit went spinning much crazily with crowd surfer’s even capturing the air as the band kept it all consistent. Just loads of energy through and through really, everyone was hyped up to witness Hirax’s presents, bringing it all in with such force and mind, that they were cheering and thrashing about like it would never stop. Surely Hirax was a highlight of the night, the crowd dismayed that they had to wrap up their set, but they would return with more music and even better thrash formula.

Lastly was headliner’s Nasty Savage whose time was brief yet decent. The opening number’s being pleasurable. The crowd some of which had dispersed, after the previous band’s performance, did not cause the headliner’s to be displeased. They kept the energy and music going, cheers still lingering, thrashing about in the pit igniting here and there, had the band ending the night be entertaining yet fine.

Few musicians manage to make a worldwide impact with their music. Fewer still manage to pull that trick off twice – but Dez Fafara, the leader of DevilDriver, is one of this elite number. Formed in Santa Barbara, CA in 2002 when vocalist & frontman Dez Fafara’s previous band Coal Chamber were winding down, the five piece have since become a constant and dynamic force in the metal world over the best part of the last two decades. Now this deluxe collection of their first five albums entitled Clouds Over California documents their meteoric rise and is available in deluxe splatter LP and expanded CD format.
DevilDriver’s first, self-titled album DevilDriver had established a successful, groove-heavy precedent on its release in 2003 – but when the Californian quintet got together to compose material for the follow-up album two years later, their music had evolved to an unexpected degree, the result was The Fury Of Our Makers Hand. 2007’s The Last Kind Words was recorded as the, then DevilDriver line-up reached the apogee of its powers, ranging from mercilessly fast extreme metal, to subtler, slower territory and all points between. When Pray For Villains was recorded and released in 2009 the album was a deliberate attempt by DevilDriver to step back a little, inject some textures into the songs and allow the music to breathe, while still staying true to their sound. Their fifth album, 2011’s Beast made a clear statement of intent. It’s predecessor was deliberately more introspective so the intention was to amp everything up tenfold this time by getting visceral and violent again.

WEDNESDAY 13 Announces Second Leg of 2022 North American Headline Tour

This spring, WEDNESDAY 13 thrilled audiences across the United States on his “20 Years Of Fear” tour, featuring a career-spanning setlist! Now, the harbinger of heavy horror punk has announced a new slew of dates comprising the second leg of the tour, beginning September 5 in Los Angeles, CA. The tour will run across the United States and Canada for nearly two months, coming to an end back in Anaheim, CA on October 22. Diehard fans and new alike will not want to miss this! Tickets and VIP experiences go on sale this Friday via individual venues.
WEDNESDAY 13 says about the tour's second leg: “We are excited to return to the road again this fall for the second leg of the '20 Years Of Fear Tour'. The last run was so much fun, revisiting songs from throughout the last 20 years. This tour, we will be celebrating the last 20 years, plus giving you a sneak peek of a few new songs from the upcoming album. See ya on the road!”

Alesana Announce The Trilogy Tour Part One: The Emptiness
North Carolina-based rock outfit Alesana is set to hit the road this summer on the Trilogy Tours Part One: The Emptiness. The dates announced today include the rescheduled dates from the band’s tour last year which was postponed halfway through because of COVID-related issues and will be a continuation of the band playing their album, The Emptiness, in full.
The tour features Palisades as the direct support with Vampires Everywhere and another special guest yet to be announced joining as support. The two legs of the tour currently run from July 7th to July 17th and August 19th through August 28th. More dates and VIP will be released soon.

EXMORTUS Bring Their Neoclassical Death/Thrash Metal On The Road With Headline Shows This July
The sound of steel will ring out loud and proud once again this summer, as EXMORTUS return to the west coast this July for a series of headline shows. Hot of the heels of a couple of sold-out performances supporting EvilDead and the reformed Bonded By Blood in Pomona, and then Vio-Lence in Oakland the past two weekends the death/thrash/shred quartet don’t want to stop and in addition to a couple dates previously announced supporting death metal legends Massacre in early July Exmortus have extended their run with a slew of their own shows all over the west coast.
Exmortus are bringing out a couple of fine support acts of their own for these dates – Bay Area thrashers Hatriot (whose fourth album, “The Vale of Shadows,” releases July 22nd on Massacre Records and features two sons of Exodus frontman Steve Souza) and Portland’s dark power metallers Silver Talon who are touring in support of “Decadence and Decay,” their praised debut full-length on M-Theory Audio and who recently performed at Vancouver’s Hyperspace Festival and Chicago’s Legions of Metal.
“We’re anxious to get back out and continue our traditional summer headlining run,” announces singer/guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez. “We just got out of the studio and we’re psyched to hit the road and bring a couple of great new bands with us.”
