Saosin Reunites for a Weekend Headliner Festival that Brings Out the Voices of Everyone!

It's been almost 20 years since the first and last time seeing post-hardcore emo, rockers Saosin, when vocalist Cove Reber had joined the band, after original frontman Anthony Green left, after the release of their debut EP. When Cover joined in, he would go on to be featured on two albums, in which Anthony Green would return for the band's third album. Then over the years, the band would have more line-up changes, playing shows, tours, including a festival titled the "No.New.Friends" festival, a two day festival with Soasin headlining in Orange County, California's Garden Amp venue.

According to Saosin the band posted online that "After three sold-out years at the Garden Amp, we've decided to make our annual residency official. We're launching a new hometown festival called NO.NEW.FRIENDS. taking place October 11 & 12.

It's a celebration of SAOSIN through the years, the bands we grew up in, the bands we grew alongside, and the bands that inspired us along the way. Together we'll take a trip down memory lane & we look forward to seeing you there!"

So with that, getting the chance to catch Saosin was a fun night, except for one problem, in which the show was over sold by the looks of capacity, the aisles, and walk path leading down to the stage, was filled to max. With the seats in front of the stage leading all the way back, would be filled as well, no room to stand or sit, since everything was filled-up! That was the drawback, so having to watch the show in the patio area, on the TV screen where the food and drinks were located during their performance was a bummer.

SAOSIN:

Seeing a few songs this way via the TV screen, and then some songs at the very back of the venue, with the last songs towards the end of the performance, at the very front in the pit, it made this evening's experience semi worth it. The band with Cover back in as vocalist, made the performance catchy and really emotional, whereas the audience gave it their all with cheers, shouts, and sing-a-longs. The mosh pit even picked up on and off throughout, the band performing for a solid hour, performing songs off their three releases, making it all work out. Vocals sounded good, band was great, and the lighting effects, made it felt at ease.

The event just felt like it was organized not very well and was oversold with tickets. Would seeing a concert at this venue be worth it, it could be arrive early, pick a spot and stick to it, otherwise the same thing could happen to you too.
