Metalcore, deathcore band HELL COMES HOME has done just that, forming for one, releasing a debut EP for another, with plans to release their debut album out this holiday season! Plans to play shows, touring will take place this year, into the next year as well! The band talks of all of this right below!
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The band name comes from Alice Cooper’s song “When hell comes home” we were considering several names and that one stood out because of the alliteration, the creepy undertone, and philosophically it invokes deep thought about a reckoning for humanity or what hell might look like and if we already live in a hell.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Metalcore and Deathcore are some of the most dynamic and passionate genres, it has a little bit of everything from all styles and the raw passionate emotion makes it perfect for the deep concepts we like to explore.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we met for the first time through a mutual friend with the intention of forming the band.
4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based out of northwest arkanasas, and currently the scene is very lacking but there is a ton of potential. There is a massive following of metalheads, and there are some very good bands I just think social media, booking agents and venues are where the disconnect is. We recommend By Mourning out of Little Rock, they are a very talented group of kids who we enjoy sharing the stage with.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life, emotion, real experience. We like to explore many concepts especially at a philosophical and emotional level. Anything we are passionate about and can relate to.
6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Our songs are very diverse. We have covered topics on loss of loved ones, grief, despair, voices against tyranny, cheating and heartbreak, pride in being unique rebels who buck the system, and motivation in being a better person/conquering your fears.
7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)
Yes, Sam and Nick through creative collaboration write all of the music and lyrics for hell comes home. Sometimes the riff or melody comes first and sometimes the lyrics come first.
8. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
So far we have released our debut EP titled “Dying Breed” and a Halloween special single. You can expect fast thundering drums, catchy riffs and complex solos, and brutal piercing vocals with a unique blend of multiple metal sub-genres.
9. Do you have any new music in the works?
We hope to release our first full length album in December that we are currently recording.
10. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We have played all over Arkansas and we will be touring the south/Midwest in August/November. We hope to embark on a full national tour and European tour next year.
11. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Albums, and more albums. Tours, and more tours.
12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We are on all streaming platforms and social media. You can find all of our links and merch store here: https://linktr.ee/hellcomeshome.
