My Own Ghost Releases Video for "Hope", New Album Coming, and Tour Announced

My Own Ghost have released a new song turned video called "Hope", which comes off their second full-length album titled "Life On Standby". The video was filmed and edited by Maanlander (, a Ghent based video company working across numerous channels and categories.

The song evolves around the concept of unfulfilled hopes. In the video the actors Deborah Knowles and Francis Majerus portray the story of a father who is hiking through the forest and looking for his missing daughter. Although she has been missing for years, he has never given up hope of finding her someday. As he eventually finds her, the encounter doesn't turn out the way he expected. The now grown up girl has lived in the forest among wild animals for so long, that she has lost all human traits. She doesn’t recognize her father and only sees him as a potential danger. As a result of her wild-life instincts, she attacks him and ends up killing him. It’s a story of high hopes and never giving up but at the same time a reminder, that hopes may lead to a life of make-believe that results in disappointment and pain.
