Who knew fifty years it has been since metal titans Iron Maiden first got their start. Over time having lineup changes within the band, touring relentlessly, all over the world; playing festivals, the U.S.A. especially.  Having seen them for the first time in 2024 then foe the second and possibly last time in 2026! Word within says this fifty-anniversary celebration would possibly be the bands finale. But only time will tell. 

With that said, the band would go on tour making two stops in Los Angeles California at the BMO Stadium. For not one but two nights; first would happen Friday September 25, 2026, with the second happening that same weekend on Sunday September 27, 2026. Both shows would be sold out, and I luckily enough would have grabbed some VIP suite tickets, in the City Lodge section, the view was unbelievable! Seating superb, food and drinks sold separately but quite tasty, nonetheless.  This evening, this expense would be worth it, and it indeed was in the end.

In fact, tonight’s performers would be three legendary acts, Anthrax, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden of course. Kicking things off would be thrashers Anthrax, performing such tracks as "Caught in a Mosh", "Madhouse", "Metal Thrashing Mad", and It's for the Kids", along with some cover songs from Trust and Joe Jackson. The band's set was solid, crowd moving wildly within the mosh pit upon the floor, with everyone else entertained.

Following would be Megadeth, another thrash titan of the “Big Four” aside from Anthrax, Slayer, and Metallica. But tonight it would be them, featuring an array of fan favorites throughout their set, including such as "Hangar 18", "Tipping Point", "Symphony of Destruction", "Peace Sells", and "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due", as well as others, the crowd were ecstatic. Singing along, headbanging, and moshing on the floor, it kept the energy moving non-stop. Frontman vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine did a fine job, with his instrumental working's, and vocal cords, his microphone sounding not in tune to the highest settings sadly, but he was still heard at least. The performance was captivating and catching, never missing a beat! Having never seeing Megadeth live before, nor Anthrax, seeing these two back-to-back was so worthwhile.

Lastly were headliners of the night Iron Maiden, they weren’t the thrash titans but more heavy metal, within the metal genre. So, a more easy-going energy, vocalist Bruce Dickinson sounding flawless and quite entertaining. He was jumping, dancing, had costume changes throughout the performance, with fire antics, explosions, and magic? Yes indeed, some magical acts were performed, with smoke illusions, visual effects, and character appearances by the band’s famous mascot Eddie himself not once but twice! First appearance would feature Eddie in the tour attire, crazy mohawk hair, leather jacket and jeans, with the second appearance being his trooper attire for the band’s best-known track “The Trooper”. Other tracks, sung this night would include an assortment of hits spanning the fifty-year career. Ranging from “"Killers", "The Number of the Beast", "2 Minutes to Midnight", "Run to the Hills", as well as other hits "Hallowed Be Thy Name", "Iron Maiden", "Aces High", "Fear of the Dark", "Wasted Years", as well as "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", "Phantom of the Opera", "Power Slave", with a few others, It felt like a twenty song set but it was a mere seventieth song setlist!

Throughout the set it was non-stop entertainment really. Lots of visual effects as each song was performed, such as the screen’s featuring mascot Eddie in numerous formats, or showing screenings of clips of ghouls and monsters, to settings of airplanes battles, ancient pyramids, shipwrecks, it was endless. So mesmerizing, it felt like it would never end but it eventually did. For a band celebrating fifty years together, it’s majority of its bandmates being in their 70’s they still were able to perform without fail, jumping, dancing, goofing off, it was truly a sight to see and well deserved on their behalf.

All in all, it was a very enthralling experience that everyone in that audience was fulfilled with fun! Singing along, dancing, it was pure happiness that everyone was excited to be witnessing such a performance it felt right yet endless, by the end of the night.

AS I LAY DYING enter a new chapter with their self-titled album As I Lay Dying.

On February 5, 2027, Grammy-nominated metalcore pioneers AS I LAY DYING return with their new self-titled album, As I Lay Dying, via Napalm Records. For 25 years, the band has helped shape the global metalcore scene through eight acclaimed studio albums, uncompromising heaviness and unmistakable melodic songwriting.

With the two new singles “Polarized” and “Retribution”, AS I LAY DYING showcase two deliberately contrasting sides of their new album. “Polarized” leans into a more melodic and accessible direction, combining heavy riffs with an immediate, driving song structure. “Retribution” takes a darker, faster and more aggressive approach, highlighting the heavier side of the band’s sound. Together, the two tracks offer an early look at the musical range of As I Lay Dying, with much of the album occupying the space between those two directions. Both songs are also available together as a physical vinyl single, and new material will be brought to the stage during the band’s upcoming North American tours.

Reigning in hell, screaming like a storm, MIDNIGHT's obscenely intense aural display of lust, filth, and sleaze ripped the Los Angeles faithful a new one at two sold-out shows on May 28th-29th, 2026. As part of MIDNIGHT's Satanic Royalty 15th Anniversary World Tour, the incendiary gigs at Hollywood venue Knucklehead were recorded in all their sweaty, filthy glory, resulting in Satanic Attack Live!, set for release on November 6th via Metal Blade Records.

Recorded by Mark Borders with mixing/mastering done by Zach Rippy, Satanic Attack Live! captures ten tracks off 2011's landmark Satanic Royalty LP - live and in the original album running order - plus five additional songs, including "Shock Til Blood," "T.A.P.," and "Fucking Speed And Darkness."

"Did I ever think there would be a MIDNIGHT live, in concert record album? Haha shit, naw!," says the band's aural architect, Athenar. "But if you're reading this, you are probably holding a copy in your bloody semen/leukorrhea-dripping paws. With the help of D.K. Vagslay, Iron Possessor, and about 300 dirt merchants and headbanging Hollywood sleazeballs, it was possible to concoct such a document of disgust."

Young Medicine announced they have officially signed a new multi-album deal with FiXT, marking a new chapter for the genre-mixing band and their relationship with the label.

The partnership kicks off with the re-release of "Immolator," a high-energy collision of hard rock, metalcore, and alternative metal that pairs retro-inspired synthesizers with heavy guitars, rapid-fire rhythms, and a passionate vocal performance that erupts into explosive screams. With its combination of nostalgic electronics and modern heaviness, “Immolator” finds Young Medicine pushing their signature fusion of sound into even more aggressive territory while setting the stage for a new era of releases with FiXT. 

Rising synthwave rockers Young Medicine pull the best from diverse genres to build a carefully constructed music identity that defies simple categorization. American Hardcore/Metalcore band Faded Line released their new album "The Only Way Out Is Through". The release was recorded at "Overit Studios" in Albany NY, produced and mixed by Dave Parker, and mastered by Creep Records.

Faded Line channels this deep underground history into a crushing live presence, having shared stages with heavyweights including Life Of Agony, Sick Of It All, Biohazard, Slapshot, and Possessed.

German Atmospheric Black Metal band Sternweh released their new album "Sehnflucht". The release was recorded, mixed and mastered in the band's home studio by Christian Witt.

Formed in Germany in 2025, Sternweh is an independent atmospheric black metal and shoegaze project created by multi-instrumentalist and horror/fantasy author Christian Witt, with occasional vocal contributions from his wife, Yvonne. Exploring themes of cosmic longing, escapism, and emotional isolation, the project contrasts crushing guitar walls and desperate screams with fragile acoustic passages and clear vocals.

Colombian Melodic/Progressive Death Metal band Nero released their new album "Iter Umbrae". The release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Mauricio Gallón in Soundblast Studios.
