Detached is an Italian symphonic metal band from Modena, founded in 2021 by bassist Federico Tioli and vocalist Riccardo Tioli. Following their much celebrated single "Superman," CYHRA (Featuring Ex AMARANTHE and current HALO EFFECT and KAMELOT and SUBURBAN TRIBE members) are pleased to release even more new music today. "Skin From Bones" is the second release by the internationally recognised melodic metal band through their new label home Reigning Phoenix Music. Mixed by guitarist Euge Valovirta, and once again mastered by sound expert Maor Appelbaum as well as graced by artwork by Gustavo Sazes, the single is a raw expression of breaking free from the lies we tell ourselves and the burdens we carry. It’s about shedding layers of pain and deceit to uncover the strength within.
 
Being both a battle cry and a moment of liberation, diving deep into the struggles of confronting our inner demons and the falsehoods we hold onto, "Skin From Bones" is a powerful anthem of self-discovery, resilience, and the painful yet necessary process of healing. Sometimes, to truly heal, you have to strip everything down to the core.
 
Introduced by hard-hitting riffs and a catchy keyboard melody, the single seems to go the ‘usual’ way, but CYHRA wouldn’t be CYHRA without occasional musical surprises, that’s why the band have interweaved a crossover-ish second verse into the track, guiding fans through the territory of rap and showcasing an untypical side of vocalist Jake E’s voice. But that’s not all as the bridge captures listeners with explosive breakdowns which additionally underline the thematic significance of "Skin From Bones."

Emo rock revivalists THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT—Lee Jennings (Vocals), Cody Weissinger (Guitar), Caleb Freihaut (Guitar/Auxiliary), Robert Weston (Bass), and Homer Umbanhowar (Drums)—will release a deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed second album, GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY, on June 13 via Better Noise Music.

Collect A Con, another convention within the convention list of all the other conventions out there. This one involving a majority of it featuring nothing BUT trading card games, Pokémon, Magic the Gathering, vendors willing to buy, sell, and trade cards with you, it was a mass variety out there. Other vendors had some appeal, art prints, stickers, keychains, plush toys, consoles, figures, etc. With everything else featuring various guests, panels, and concerts too!

Los Angeles, California got this touring convention the first weekend of March, March 1st and the 2nd in Downtown Los Angeles, at the Los Angeles, Convention Center, it being able to fit everything in the South Hall area, vendors, guests, everything thrown in. Upon arriving around 11AM, getting to the special guests autograph alignment, various voice actors in anime and other cartoons or even film, were gathered at their numerous tables, with prints at the ready, meeting and greeting with fans alike.

I was among those fans, waiting in line to meet Terri Hawkes, the one of many of the few Sailor Moon voice actors, but she was in the 90's version of the English version for the U.S. to use Sailor Moon's name as Serena, in the English dub, she was in some of season one and all of season two and the three Sailor Moon films. She would arrive around 11AMish, hanging out until 6PMish roughly most likely, her line was long, with her talking with fans for a good 10-15 minutes, signing items they brought to her or bought at her table! Having gotten to meet her after all of these years, it was an honor and a dream come true!

 

 

 

 

Browsing the convention in-between, catching some aspects of what was happening, was some concerts, one had Waka Flocka Flame, perform for what about an hour straight! Another performer being Jason Paige, the singer known best for the Pokémon Theme Song, from the first generation of the anime series Pokémon! Having hear and see him sing this childhood song was great to experience, it brought tears to my eyes.

Checking out the vendors was a hit or miss opportunity, a majority featuring a lot of trading cards, with other vendors having this or that featured, catching everything within just a day, it was another convention to add to my list, and one that is worth experiencing for the fun of it!
