Lullaby's Jack and Luis Discuss Re-releasing their Tunes
Alternative indie rockers, Lullaby have been together for close to a year, during this time, they have spent writing and recording for their debut EP "Beautiful You", in which they will be re-releasing, featuring all new content, for a fresh new sound! They have also spent time playing shows with plans on playing further shows, writing new music and just going for it as a band! Frontman vocalist/guitarist Jack Boysel and drummer/backing vocalist Luis Angel discusses their decision on re-releasing their debut EP and future plans.
1. First of all, who are you, and what do you do in the band?
Jack: I’m Jack and I sing and play rhythm guitar.
Luis: I’m Luis and I play drums and do back up vocals.
2. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Luis: We’re based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The scene here isn’t prospering but we manage. We have a lot of talent here, just not many people show up to shows unless you’re “cool.” We like to play out of town as much as we can because of that. Definitely check out Senior Fellows if you’re a fan of heavier music, Brother Rabbit, Dad the Band, The Capital Why’s, Nuns.
3. Why go with calling yourselves Lullaby? What types of Lullaby's do you remember?
Luis: I think I suggested naming it that because I was reading the book Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. It’s just a dope book. I don’t really remember any lullabies to be honest.
4. How do you describe your sound to people who ask you what your band sounds like?
Luis: I usually just call us chill alternative rock. We’re too loud and have broken too many guitar amps to be indie rock.
5. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Jack: The songs are usually about a lot of personal experiences like most people tend to write songs about, but I try and keep them relate-able and not too personal.
6. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)
Jack: Most definitely. I come up with basic ideas and show it to the rest of the guys and we put it together as a group.
Luis: Jack just shows me his song ideas and I write my parts to it and we structure it together. We’ll usually scramble parts like verse, chorus, bridge, etc. until they mold together and feel right.
7. You decided to go and re-release your debut EP "Beautiful You" which will include new material, why go and re-release your first release as opposed to just releasing a whole new release instead?
Luis: I actually engineered, mixed, and mastered it. We kind of rushed recording it and I wasn’t satisfied with the quality. I wanted to put it out better than before and add some new stuff just to make it different and worth re-doing. We also went with a more organic form of recording it. It just sounds more authentic now.
8. Describe your relationship with your fans in one word?Jack: Obtuse.
Luis: Transparent.
9. Do you think that this was the way it would be, as far as being a band, let alone being in a band, playing shows, making music, or do you think it would be something totally different altogether?
Luis: We’ve all played in multiple other bands and still play in multiple bands. This is one of the few bands where we all have a vibe together that works really well and plays out well together.
10. What accomplishments are you most proud of as a band?
Jack: Musicianship, I’ve really learned a lot from Devin and Luis whether its gear,writing or playing style.
Luis: Really just all the kind of compliments we get after playing a set and making friends with other bands (shout outs to Out of Bloom, the Springfield homies).
11. What are the plans that you have for this year?
Jack: Definitely release the EP and hopefully tour and get more involved in music just in general.
Luis: Release the EP, tour, put out a split with a cool band maybe, get more merch, and party.
12. Any last words?
Jack: I apologize for whatever Luis is going to say.

BAND-MAID to make USA debut at Sakura-Con 2016
Red-hot Japanese girls rock band BAND-MAID will make their American live performance debut at Seattle's Sakura-Con in March 2016. BAND-MAID will perform a live concert, participate in a Q&A session, and sign autographs for fans during the three-day event, March 25-27, at the Washington State Convention Center. Aiden Announces Live DVD Release
Aiden will be releasing a live DVD of their final performance ever as a band. The band has been taking part in their final tours in the U.S. as well as the U.K. Parts of the DVD were filmed during their touring trek in the U.K. on January 29th through the 31st. The setlist for the DVD can be found HERE. Expect a release to be soon.
John 5 Announces New Tour, New Video, and New Album
John 5 and the Creatures announced dates for the upcoming spring tour beginning in March 2016. Exclusive Meet and Greet packages will be available for select dates on www.john-5.com and show tickets can be purchased directly through the venue.
To kick off the tour announcement, John 5 teamed up with Fender Musical Instrument Products to debut his new music video for his latest single, “Behind the Nut Love” on www.fender.com. Originally recorded in 2005, today’s version features Ian Ross and Rodger Carter, collectively known as John 5 and the Creatures. The new version will appear on the upcoming album Guitars, T!ts, and Monsters.

Artery Launches Full-Service Studio, "Gold Standard Sounds"
Founder and owner of The Artery Foundation and Artery Recordings, Eric Rushing, has announced his new start up, Gold Standard Sounds. The full-service studio located in Sacramento will host some of today's top rock and metal acts' recording sessions as well as being open to the public.
Rushing had this to say about his latest venture, "After 20 years in the music industry I'm extremely excited to open a state of the art recording studio in my hometown. Not only did I open this studio so that that bands could record music but I created a really cool environment for writing sessions, video sessions and listening parties. This will be a great addition for the label and management company that we have built on a local and national level. GSS showcases the only SSL Console in town and with a big LA studio vibe."

VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE Announces Headlining Run, "The Ritual Tour"
Vampires Everywhere will be kicking off their own headlining tour, starting things off on February 28 in Los Angeles, CA and wrapping up on March 29 in Roswell, NM, “The Ritual Tour” will see Sycamour on support, along with Chasing Safety and Brightwell on select dates. Vocalist Michael Orlando adds, “I am excited to get a chance to hit the cities we've missed on past tours. We will be playing new songs off our upcoming LP 'Ritual' and a couple older songs I love playing live. Don't miss this tour!”
