Discipline X's Pastori is Wasted in Hollywood?

Finland mixers Discipline X have been around for some time and have toured, played shows, and released music including most recent "Wasted In Hollywood" their debut full-length release. Drummer and backing vocalist Ville "pastori" Pistool or Pastori went ahead and answered some questions about that release and the band themselves.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Pastori: We started the band with Juha in 2007. We have been through various line-up´s and different styles of music, still, always heavy shit! In 2011 we started to play crossover thrash that we still play. This line-up: Juha: Rhytm guitar and vocals, Pastori: Drums and back-up vocals, Jesse: Sologuitar and Rauno: Bass has been together since this July.

2. Why did you pick the name that you did for your band?

Pastori: We started out as Dicipline. Then Juha found a similar name band in Holland and I had already taped the name to our tour bus, so I just put the X onto it.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Pastori: We are located in Pori, Finland. The music scene in Pori is great at the moment. The toughest bands in the area are our fellow rockers Serpico and Rust and Rage, they will make it big, after us, of course.

4. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?

Pastori: We are punkier than thrash and thrashier than punk. Crossover music is dead and gone in Finland, but we will bring it back to life! Our biggest influences are D.R.I, S.O.D, Misfits, early Metallica, Pantera, Slayer and Megadeth.

5. What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?

Pastori: We have released two EP's, Revolution in 2011 and One of a Kind in 2012. They were kicked to pieces in Finnish Media and liked by foreign media. We released our first record Wasted in Hollywood this year. It was kicked to death by the Finnish media and absolutely loved by the foreign media.

6. Do you play live as well? What do you have planned in terms of shows and touring, if any?

Pastori: We are at our best live. Our live shows are sweat. adrenaline and blood! We are planning an Finnish tour at the end of the year and making and new EP with the new line-up.  We would just love to do a tour in Europe, our anywhere for  that matter.

7. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?

Pastori: They should know that we are truly one of a kind. There´s is no other band like us at the moment. We are the best compilation of kick ass music, a fist in your face attitude and heavy hitting songs!

8. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

Pastori: Our plans is to do a new EP, then start touring and then make a new record. Then we hope that we will get  tours abroad. We have so many great songs coming up, Juha is on fire, kick ass riffs man!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Pastori: You can watch our music video to our title song Wasted in Hollywood on YouTube and on our Facebook page. You can also listen to us on iTunes, Spotify etc. And you can buy our music worldwide on Amazon.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Pastori: To be ready to run, because our music, is gonna kick their asses!
