Learning guitar is about to become more than a “summer fling,” thanks to a partnership between Dean Markley USA and FourChords guitar/karaoke app, a revolutionary instruction method by Musopia. All packages of Dean Markley strings now contain a promo code entitling customers to one month of free VIP access to FourChords, an innovative platform that helps players learn their favorite songs in minutes. With high-quality Dean Markley strings and a fun introductory method, new players will be well-positioned to succeed and keep playing their guitar.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, Musopia saw the opportunity to reach a wider audience by teaming up with Dean Markley in the USA, the birthplace of modern guitar in popular music. Throughout the decades, countless hits have been written with four simple chords, and true to its name, FourChords is a program that offers a proven instruction method that gets first-timers playing popular tunes on guitar right away. The platform has simplified chords for more than 1,500 songs, and teaches beginners strum patterns and tempo control.

“We are happy to team up with Musopia and provide aspiring musicians a revolutionary new way to learn, improve and master guitar playing in a fun and easy environment,” said Lori McCallian, CEO of Dean Markley.

Whether a new player has an heirloom acoustic or a brand-new electric off the showroom wall, a fresh set of stings can make all the difference in the world when playing. Now players ahave an added incentive to reach for Dean Markley’s Blue Steel, Blackhawk Coated and Signature Series strings, knowing they have free access to an easy-to-use mobile app that will teach chords and progressions.

According to Musopia, a reported 90% of entry-level players quit within the first year. FourChords’ proven method of teaching songs right away helps stem that quit rate, and 83% of FourChords users report that it helps them to continue learning the guitar. Combine that success with Dean Markley’s break-resistant strings that stand the test of time with true tone and provide an extra confidence boost for beginners. That “summer fling” is about to turn into a long-term relationship!

Trivium have returned with a new track titled, "The Sin and the Sentence," the first new music from the group since their celebrated 2015 LP, SILENCE IN THE SNOW.  "The Sin and the Sentence" is joined by an official music video streaming now on Trivium's YouTube channel and is available now at all DSPs.  Trivium will return with a new album this fall! Check out the new song turned video HERE.

Dirty Machine has set a task for themselves, to bring back American Nu Metal to the industry of the music scene. Coming from the city of angels that is Los Angeles, California, has been drawing in the crowds since back in 2012. During the time from then to now tough, the band has been playing shows cases, touring, as well as writing and recording material for numerous releases, including their newest album "Discord". The band got together to discuss the handful of singles off this album, and how the process of the album came off for everyone.

1. What role do you play in the band?

Dirty Davo - Vocals

Darren Davis - Guitar/Vocals

Hedge - Guitar

Youngblood - Bass/Backing Vocals

Nightmare - Drums

DJ Ecusa - Turntables/Sampling

2. Why the name DIRTY MACHINE? What does it symbolize or represent for the band?

Dirty Machine symbolizes everything society/someone doesn't want you to be. Dirty Machine is something far from perfect, completely raw and in your face. We want people to feel that you should put yourself and your uniqueness before any bullshit trend or opinion. Never settle and fuck a plan B. Follow your dreams, always.

3. Who has influenced your sound and style?

We range from over the place but our style is heavily influenced by Korn, Linkin Park and Sevendust.

4. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Our songs come from a place of total honesty. We never discuss what a song is about before it's written. Lyrics just come out of us, and then the theme follows directly behind it.

5. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

We are very old school in how we write. We don't write our music separately. We don't use computers, drum machines and technology based music crap. Dirty Machine is 6 guys who plug in their shit in a hot garage and jam. Our writing comes from the oldest method there is, and that's just all being in the same room.

6. How do you describe your music to people?

Our music is whatever people want it to be. We stopped describing our music along time ago. Everyone we've encountered views us differently. After shows we've had people come up to us and say everything from "wow you reminded us of Limp Bizkit" all the way to "dang you guys remind me of Incubus". Our sound is all about how people perceive it. At the end of the day, people make their own opinion no matter what you say.

7. What was your reaction when you heard you got signed with Zombie Shark Records?

"FINALLY" haha, we've been trying to get ZSR's attention for well over a year. But it just shows Noah's business savvy. Because DM wasn't ready a year ago. We were ready now and that's why the planet's aligned.

8. Why did you decide to go with Zombie Shark Records over everybody else out there?

Any label bold enough in 2017 to come out and say they not only endorse Nu-Metal but they stand by it?! Umm, was there really anywhere else to go? We were the Outcasts of the LA scene. People told us to drop our style and switch it up. People told us to get uniformed and use a gimmick. ZSR believed in us for what we are. We couldn't ask for more than that.

9. You went and released the title track as your single with an accompanying music video, why was this choice made to be?

That title track set the tone and reintroduced us to the world. That song and video showed two new member additions as well as our newly recorded sound. We didn't even vote on it. "Discord" just simultaneously came out of our mouths at once.

10. Will we be seeing other tracks off "Discord" be made into singles and or videos?

We plan to shoot a video for "Seeds" and " Self Made Hero" before the year ends!

11. What can fans expect from the new album?

Man, we haven't even crossed that bridge yet. We have talked about it. But we all have to be in a certain mental place in order to write. None of us are there yet.

12. What has the writing and recording process been like for this album?

4 years went into this album. We took songs from the old stock pile, we took songs that at one point were just 30 second ideas and we mashed them all together. This album has its own story behind it and it would take us a month to sum up.

13. If you had to describe the whole album of "Discord" in one word, which would it be and why?

Disconnect, "Discord" is a story about the disconnect of two people. It tells a story and that story really happened.

14. For someone that’s never heard of your band, why should they give your music a listen? What separates DIRTY MACHINE from other artists out there today?

Imagine all your favorite Nu-Metal bands from the late 90's and early 2000's having a big sex party. Out of all those bands, a baby was born. That baby is Dirty Machine.

15. What’s in the future for DIRTY MACHINE?

We take it one step at a time. First and foremost a tour!

Sleeptalk was formed from the ashes of a former pop punk band that ceased to exist. Since then, Sleeptalk had begun from the brain cells of frontman vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick and bassist Paul McGill. Later on guitarist Jason Fitzpatrick, guitarist Justin Melchor, and drummer Jacques Harmandjian, would join in, making the band strong and promising. Their self-titled full-length debut released this past summer will show off what they can do for this music scene from this point onward. Frontman vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick discusses that album, singles including recent music video for the track "Bright Eyes", as well as plans ahead.

1. What role do you play in the band?

Anthony: Hi my name is Anthony and I sing in the band.

2. Does your band's name Sleeptalk really mean what it represents, referring to sleep talking?

Anthony: It actually does. haha

3. What has influenced your sound and style?

Anthony: Youth, life, love, sex, lust, bad choices, rebelling, people. As far as our sound I'm going to have to say, to not do what other people are doing, and pace!

4. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Anthony: Being young and in love. Rebellion!

5. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Anthony: Yes we write all of our own songs. We wrote a few songs with one of my best friends named Shane. He has a band called Rouxx. The writing process for Sleeptalk is very internet based. Justin our guitarist lives about 45 mins to an hour away from the rest of the band so we are constantly emailing or iPhone voice memo ideas back and fourth. Once we have a solid foreground we all get together and put our inputs into the songs that make them our own.

6. How do you describe your music to people?

Anthony: We call it “Space Rock”. When people ask me what bands we sound like I have such a hard time telling someone we sound like this band or this band. You can definitely hear our influences but I wouldn’t say we sound like anyone in specific.

7. What image do you think your music conveys?

Anthony: Love.

8. You will soon be releasing your new self-titled album. Why did you want to go with self-titling this release?

Anthony: The reason we wanted to self title this album is because this is Sleeptalk. Not to say our EPs before this weren’t us but we were definitely testing the waters. Our First  EP is nothing like our record, you know. This is the Sleeptalk sound, at least for now.

9. What is your favorite song on the record and why?

Anthony: Personally I think my favorite song has to either be “Midnight/3,2,1” or “Bright Eyes”. Those songs hit home for me the most. I wrote both of those songs on the spot in the studio and they were actually the two final songs I recorded for the record. I recorded vocals for both of these songs on 1/2/17. I was sitting on these two songs for about 2 weeks, I could not figure out what I wanted to talk about and all the sudden new years happened and “Midnight” poured out of me.

10. What can fans expect from the new album?

Anthony: You can expect real. This album is straight up about my life and the people I surround myself with.

11. What was the writing and recording process like for this album?

Anthony: We actually wrote all 3 EPs around singles that we knew we were going to put on our debut record. We never released the last EP “Love” due to us signing with Artery but we took 4 of the 5 from the EP. We had about 25 or so songs that we narrowed down to the 12 on the record. We had about 8 of the 12 done before we went into the studio in early Dec. We finished writing and recording the record in about 15 days. It all flowed and happened so quickly, but beautifully.

12. Why do you think people should check out your new album once released?

Anthony: We are pretty cool guys and the songs are pretty cool.

13. What do you want to achieve as a band?

Anthony: Our first goal is to play festival season, that’s what’s on our mind right now

14. What does next year hold for you?

Anthony: Touring, touring touring. Thank you guys so much, we really appreciate you guys taking the time to due this for our band. Cheers!
