Paganland was founded in 1997 by Ruen and Bilozor in Lviv – one of the most beautiful Ukrainian cities, whose developed traditions incorporated the European cultural spirit of the last millennium, and every stone breathes with centuries-old history of decline and revival, wars and temporary rest.

The natural mysticism hidden in the Carpathians’ greatness, the dense woods and pure mountain sources could not but affect musicians with Pagan outlook, therefore their debut demo "Gods of Golden Circle" (1999) and the demo "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (2008) one way or another had been nearly related to Pagan Metal.

The line-up’s changes, routine of rehearsals, hardships of concert activity caused the group’s breakup in 2005, but three years later the group revived and in 2011 recorded the first full-length album "Wind Of Freedom", having resumed their concert activity. This album was released in 2013 by Svarga Music. One year later band records a second album called "Fatherland" which is dedicated to all Patriots of Ukraine fighting against Russian aggression.

Paganland is a group of persons holding the same views, who respect and love their native land, their nation, their language and who are convinced that the Ukraine is the cradle of all Slavonic people with improbably interesting history forgotten and distorted for the last ten centuries. Megaliths and petroglyphs of Kamennaya Mogila (the Stone Grave), the sanctuary-observatory of Khortytsia, the ancient observatory of Mavrinsky Maidan, the mysterious zone of Suppert… The runes of "Veles’ Book" and runic manuscripts from the library of Anna Yaroslavna (Queen of France and Princess of Ukraine)… Secret knowledge of molfars and volkhves… How many of the people worldwide at least simply heard about all of this?

The group members try to express their love of the native land, the nature in their lyrics and music, as well as draw attention of their listeners to the fact that not only money and lie rule the world in the period of the Epoch of Pisces. The human can and has to stand up for the truth, and the truth of life had been established long ago by our ancestors. All meaning of the group’s creative activity is the tribute to our land, our ancient culture, our history.

That said, the band went on to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a special live show! It is a full show live in Lviv, West Ukrainain Division ACT III. Check it below!

Texas based hard rock band Blacktop Mojo has released a video for their track, "Underneath," from their 2017 release, "Burn the Ships". Filmed live at Audioworx Studios in Palestine, TX, the Drew McCuistion filmed video features front-man Matt James and lead guitarist Ryan Kiefer performing an acoustic version of the track.

"I've seen firsthand how bitterness and anger can destroy a person from the inside out. This song is about that, but also saying "I understand what happened, and I'm sorry you went through the painful things that brought you to this point" Keep your heart free , forgive people even if they don't deserve it." - Nathan Gillis (Drums)

Ukrainian metal band Ignea has released a new live video for the song "Seytanu Akbar". The aim of this video is to reflect the atmosphere usually present at the Ignea shows. It has been recorded at The Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2017, the annual awards for the top Ukrainian metal bands where Ignea has entered the top 3 bands.

"Seytanu Akbar", is the song opening Ignea’s album "The Sign of Faith". Despite provocative title of the song, the band’s intention is to carry the idea of peace. According to the band’s words: "What we want to say is that there is no reasonable cause to kill other people, be it regime, faith or moral principles. We mainly speak about Islamic terrorism in this song, as one of the social plagues of 21st century, taking lots of innocent lives. However, this applies to every human on Earth, regardless of their religion."

Jinjer has released a live video of the song called "Bad Water".

Jinjer states: "Last year Jinjer played over 85 shows in Europe and Asia, but one of the key concerts happened in our native country. We had a chance to support our beloved friends Twelve Foot Ninja in Kiev. What a nice opportunity to film a few live videos? So here you are, Bad Water live from Sentrum club in Kiev 2017. One of our best songs played live, recorded in high-quality first time with Vlad on drums and as a quartet. Sure, it's a different version than the Cloud Factory re-release but what the hell, Bad Water is so bad ass it deserves multiple versions!"

Check it out HERE.
