Sumerian Records marks its 10 year anniversary with a four week tour, dubbed the Sumerian 10 Year Tour, featuring five of the Los Angeles labels’ bands: Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After The Burial, ERRA and Bad Omens.

“Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya and After The Burial have all played a crucial role in the new wave of progressive, heavy music and in the pedigree of Sumerian,” said label founder, Ash Avildsen.  “They are some of the most genuine, hard-working and talented musicians I have had the privilege to work with. I vividly remember first seeing all three of them play together at a tiny legion hall in a small Illinois town when Sumerian was less than a year old and they were all unsigned. I can proudly say that without Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya and After The Burial together on the label, Sumerian would not have become the entity it is today. I am honored to have this Midwest menagerie carrying the 10 Year Tour and excited for our newcomers ERRA and Bad Omens.  Thank you to all of the fans who support the bands and the music. Without you, none of this would be possible. See you in the pit.”

Veil of Maya made a post on their Facebook announcing the parting of vocalist Brandon Butler. The band has been hard at work writing and recording for their upcoming new album that will soon make it's appearance on Sumerian Records, after they re-signed with the label just last year. In the mean time they are looking for a new vocalist, since Butler has only been the band's second vocalist since their original vocalist Adam Clemans in 2007. The following message was posted;

"Currently we are hard at work on our new studio album and while the music is almost finished, the hunt for a new vocalist is now on.

We are very excited with how well this album is turning out and cannot wait to release it soon on Sumerian Records. We know that both our long-time AND new fans will be calling THIS their favorite Veil of Maya album of all time.

We want to wish Brandon good luck with anything and everything that he does in the future and thank him for being a part of the band."

Having seen the name and heard the name countless times before Veil Of Maya have gone on to release their latest efforts "Eclipse" which believe or not offers a more better job than 2010's "[id]".

With that said quality is done quite well having done things that they have used before but upgraded it if you will having it sound ten times better than when it was first done. For instance "Winter Is Coming Soon" has a solid ground built in and really keeps the listener zoned into the melody and mad driven riffs used throughout. Whereas “Vicious Circles”, and “Punisher”, throw the listener off just a tad but having the music be a bit toned down having the guitars and drums be more mellower and developed having a stronger sense and flow to the music.

One thing noticed about this release is how quickly you begin it; it immediately ends having it be even shorter than the other releases that these guys have pushed out. "Eclipse" is a massive amount of energy and a strong skilled piece of work that keeps the music maintained and thorough.

Highly praised heavy metal act IN FLAMES will kick off the New Year with a headlining North American tour. Presented by Full Metal Jackie, IN FLAMES will be joined by notable metal acts TRIVIUM, VEIL OF MAYA and KYNG. Lasting for a little over a month, the tour kicks off January 12th in Milwaukee, WI and will wrap back around to complete on February 21st in Chicago, IL. A full list of dates can be seen below.

IN FLAMES comments, “In Flames strikes back!!! After a nice but curtailed summer mayhem, we will return to American soil with full force. Expect riffs, sweat and beers so tasty that you're ready to give up everything and move to Gothenburg. Just to have another fix...”

TRIVIUM adds, "Trivium can't wait to get out again on the road with In Flames. They are one of our all time favorite bands and together we plan on giving our best shows to the fans."

This fall the North American metal community is about to discover just how truly progressive, epic and crushing a touring package can be. One of Sumerian Records' flagship artists, BORN OF OSIRIS, have put together an absolutely devastating line-up for their first headlining run in support of their latest album, The Discovery.

Joining BORN OF OSIRIS on this run will be Veil of Maya, Carnifex, Struc/tures and France's Betraying The Martyrs (performing in the U.S. for the very first time). This highly anticipated trek is set to run between Nov. 18th and Dec. 18th. Either see below for initial dates or stay tuned to www.facebook.com/bornofosiris for additional information and tourdates as they become available over the coming weeks. The next batch of dates will be announced on Oct. 6th.

Lee McKinney (guitars) states: “We couldn't be more excited about 'The Discovery' headlining U.S. tour. We are going to be back in the U.S. with our good friends Veil of Maya for the first time in years. Not only are they an incredible band, they are some of our closest friends from Chicago. Also on the tour is Carnifex. They are a really heavy band and we can't wait to see what they are all about. Struc/tures and Betraying the Martyrs will be opening up the tour. These are some of Sumerian's best new bands. Struc/tures is a great progressive metal band that also has a new album coming out just before the tour on October 24th. Betraying the Martyrs has a new album out and this tour also marks their first U.S. tour to date. We are beyond stoked to be able to present you with a package you haven't seen a different version of ten times! All the bands are fresh and have new music. We'll also be playing our longest set yet.
