London-based J-rockers Esprit D’Air is releasing their first cover song, "Serafine" on August 31, 2018. "Serafine" was originally released by Japanese heavy metal band, Dead End, on their 1989 album, "Zero".

Adding their contemporary rock sound to the almost 30-year-old song, Esprit D’Air modernizes the classic track in their cover, re-arranging the original, and making it uniquely theirs. "Serafine" is recorded, mixed, and mastered by lead singer and guitarist, Kai, who has this to say about the cover:

"I recorded this cover simply because I love this song. Morrie is a beautiful lyricist in both Dead End and his solo work, and Dead End’s song Serafine really resonates with me on a personal level. The artwork itself was inspired by a verse line in the song."

Dead End (formed in Tokyo 1984) have inspired legendary Japanese bands such as X Japan, L’Arc~en~Ciel, and Luna Sea. Esprit D’Air’s cover version of ‘Serafine’ can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and Google Play from August 31, 2018.

Earlier this year, Esprit D’Air won an award for Best Metal Album at The Independent Music Awards for their debut album, "Constellations", featuring esteemed judging panel including Amy Lee (Evanescence), Slayer, Sepultura, Tom Waits, and many others. The award-winning band is now embarking on a European tour with headlining dates in Spain, UK, France, and The Netherlands.

Rising J-rockstars Esprit D'Air are crowned winners for best metal/hardcore album at the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards announced at New York's historic Lincoln Center on March 31, 2018.

The winning album, "Constellations" was selected by an esteemed artist and industry judging panel which included Slayer, Amy Lee (Evanescence), Tom Waits and Sepultura, among many others; as well as press and talent buyers from the Americas, Europe, and Pacific Rim.

"Constellations" was produced by lead vocalist and guitarist, Kai, who follows a commendable DIY ethos by composing, recording, producing and mixing everything himself, whilst working with Kobalt Music Group's AWAL (Artists Without A Label) to distribute their music.

The album exclusively premiered on TeamRock last summer, and received coverage and airplay on HuffPost, Kerrang! Radio, TotalRock Radio, NEO Magazine, and PowerPlay.

Esprit D'Air embarked on a 7-day UK headline tour (Constellations Tour) in February 2018, including a packed headline show at the world-famous The Underworld Camden in London. The touring line-up featured Ryo Takahashi on guitar and Jan-Vincent Velazco of Pendragon (pictured) on drums.

The band is now looking to extend their Constellations Tour to Europe and to release brand new music this year—more details to be announced soon.

J-rockers Esprit D' Air are back again with an all new high octane synth driven rock single and video of the song called "Starstorm". They being the one, to watch out for of 2018.

"Starstorm" is a track from their Amazon Best-Selling Hard Rock & Metal album, "Constellations", and is remastered by Metropolis' Stuart Hawkes, who has worked with big names from Japan, such as Miyavi, Sugizo (X Japan, Luna Sea), and Mika Nakashima, as well as Pendulum, The Prodigy and Enter Shikari.

Following the tradition of their previous releases, the "Starstorm" video brings together their music and art. The lyrics and artwork depict an otherworldly story of a man in a deserted world struggling to fulfill a promise he made to a friend. He then sees a starstorm, which shows him visions and memories from the past, motivating him to continue and carry out his promise until the very end.

The single release is accompanied by a nightcore/drum and bass remix by Shudan, who remixed "Snow" by Boom Boom Satellites (Sony Music Japan, JPU Records) on their 15th-anniversary release, Embrace.

Taking no breaks, Esprit D’Air have just announced that their new single and music video for Ignition will release on 18 August, following their successful new album, Constellations. About Ignition, vocalist and guitarist Kai has this to say:

“Ignition is about someone imagining themselves with a different life if they had made different choices. Whilst driving through the city, they are thinking about the choices they have made in the past. It depicts the moment of someone reflecting oneself and making an important decision.

The lyrics don’t tell you what the person ends up doing, maybe they are going to leave the city, or stay there to start doing something they have never experienced. Like in real life, there will be some life-changing decisions, some that can make you feel anxious. However, there are some paths that you can only discover from having the courage to take it.”
