Silence The Messenger has announced on their Facebook page that they have broke up -

"To all who are asking, yes, Silence The Messenger is breaking up. We had a solid run, and we owe a lot of that to you guys. Thank you so much for supporting us over the years, it means more than you know. Thank you for buying our records, our merch, buying us drinks and giving us a place to crash on the road. You kept us going.

We also want to thank Standby Records and everyone at Artery for taking a chance on us and giving us an opportunity. The White Rabbit 20th Anniversary show will be our final show as STM. Get your tickets early, that weekend is sure to sell out.

Some of us will definitely continue to play music, so keep an eye out for future projects!
Once again, thank you all for everything, it's been a hell of a ride.- STM"

Blake Judd of Chicago-based extremists NACHTMYSTIUM — who was arrested early last month on charges of theft by unauthorized control of property not exceeding $500 in value — has put the band to rest.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Judd writes: "Today, I turn 31 years old and as a gift to myself, as sad as it makes me to do this, I'm letting go of something that I've put blood, sweat and tears into for the last 13 1/2 years.

"It's been an amazing ride full of extreme highs and extreme lows. It's taken me around the world to places I'd never have imagined getting to see / experience. I've toured with some of my favorite bands ever and met some of the most amazing people I could ever have asked to meet. These experiences are fond memories that I will be able to reflect on until the day I die and be eternally grateful for having in my mind.

"There are two releases left that are yet to come out: a split 10-inch MLP with THE MANY, which will be released on Plastik Musik in the coming months, and the band's epitaph LP, 'The World We Left Behind', to be released worldwide on CD / LP / digitally by Century Media Records in spring 2014. A vinyl box set of the band's entire discography is also in the works and will hopefully see the light of day sometime in 2014.

"Thanks to you fans worldwide who've supported the band over the last 13 1/2 years. You are the people I owe the most to, as you helped me bring a dream of mine since my earliest memories of being alive to be able to be a musician and a live performer come to life. I feel that between the year 1999 and today in late 2013, I've lived more than most people do in a lifetime through my experiences with NACHTMYSTIUM, and every one of you who ever bought a tape, a CD, an LP, a t-shirt, a concert ticket, a poster, a patch, etc., you were the people that truly helped bring this dream of mine to reality. Corpus Christi, Texas "experimental deathcore" band Design the Skyline has called it quits. Formed in 2007 (originally as Extra Large Kids), the group released one album with Victory Records.

Rumors had been circulating recently that Design the Skyline had been dropped by Victory, which we confirmed yesterday, but today comes word that the band has called it quits. Frontman and co-founder Eric Azure had the following to say:

"My heart is heavy as a dawn sets towards a new sunrise. 4 years ago my band Design The Skyline formed from the passion of 7 individuals with the goal of creating a unique open-minded experience in a world bound by normalities. While the goal was ultimately reached and many loving, dedicated fans rose and stand by us, we have decided to part ways and begin a new chapter in our music careers.

"Thank you to all the fans who supported us, fought with us and will continue to do so! I have endless love and appreciation for you! I will never forget all the messages from everyone saying I saved lives, opened eyes, inspired, and helped push through the struggles of life. Though I am just a human like everyone else, it's our voices, and communication that bounds us and together we help eachother go beyond the stars! My will, passion, and focus is stronger than ever before and a project like no other will rise from the ashes. Together we will change the world!

Attack Attack! are breaking up following their "Back In Action Tour."

"Well everyone, it's been a wild ride for Attack Attack, but I think it's about time Whiting and I take some time to write this note. We want to start by thanking every single one of you that has ever come out to a show, bought a shirt, gotten in a fight over crabcore, or spent the time to send us notes online. We have been insanely blessed to be able to do what we have done with AA and we think it's time that we wrap up this chapter in our lives. Yes, this means exactly what you think it means. The Back in Action Tour will be Attack Attack's final and most ironic tour. After 6 long years of playing in garages, VFW halls, clubs, open air festivals, and everything in-between. We've decided it is time to lay AA down for good. You are all beautiful, wonderful people, and we want you to know that we deeply appreciate everything you have done for us. We are sad to lay Attack Attack to rest, but are very excited for what is next in this new chapter of our lives."

After more than a decade together, emo/punk stalwarts My Chemical Romance have called it a day. The group released this brief statement on their official website:

Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.

The band released four albums throughout their career, including the popular The Black Parade. Most recently, the group released the ambitious Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys in 2010.

The Grammy-nominated band was an iconic group during the early-2000s emo movement, mainly on the strength of their breakthrough record Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

California metalheads Torment ID has decided to call it quits and break up! They have left the following message on their Facebook page;

"It comes with an extremely sad heart to have to give this news but, effective today, Torment Id will no longer be a band. It was several circumstances that cause this to occur. The band had been pounding away at the metal scene since 2007. It has seen several line up changes, but alas, it's time to move onto other things. We've made some great friends, and met some awesome fans, but the flag will have to be picked up by someone else, and carried to the field of victory!

Much work had been done to try to give the very best performances, and to give the listener something else to entice their palette.

But, it is Torment Id's time to go. Hopefully, something anew will rise from the ashes, much like the Phoenix.

Fair thee well. Until we meet again on stage, some day."

With 14 years together and seven studio albums under their belt, the California metal band Bleeding Through have announced that they will disband. The band first began as a side project for vocalist Brandan Schieppati’s in 1999, who was a member of Eighteen Visions at the time. Bleeding Through released their latest album, ‘The Great Fire,’ in 2012.

Prior to disbanding, Bleeding Through will embark on a farewell tour. Schieppati released an official statement via Blabbermouth.net addressing the band’s decision to go their separate ways:

“When you have some success doing something that you love, you never really think about writing a statement about that something coming to an end. Well, that dream that we have had as Bleeding Through has come to an end.

I think I can speak for the rest of my bandmates in saying that we always hoped it would end on our terms, and it has.

We have been fortunate to have a strong fan base worldwide and have brought joy to many and pissed off many more.

As Bleeding Through was always a band that wore the emotion of the music on our sleeves. We cared about everyone like family that ever took the time to listen to our band, support our merchandise and go to our shows.

Since 1999, we have been blessed to be able to tour the world, record seven records with some great musical minds, tour with amazing bands and people, work with people with character such as management, booking agents and road crew. Most importantly, we made lasting friends from this journey.

We have been honored to be part of a expanding the musical movement of heavy music and hope to be remembered as a benchmark and pioneer of a specific style of music.

We have been a band since 1999, and many of us just had life catch up with us in the way of marriages, kids, businesses and other endeavors. We can no longer dedicate what we need to to keep as Bleeding Through going.

Personally, I feel doing this band in a part-time fashion is not what this band is about and feel like we have always been an all-or-nothing band. With that being said, and because we have established a worldwide following over the last 14 years, we want to give us and those people one more chance to share in this music together. We are setting up farewell tours. Dates will be up and promoted very soon.

To those who supported this band: It has been an honor.”

Make Me Famous's vocalist has quit so the band has made announcement in regards to this and their breakup  . Read the details of the issue below as well as view this discussion in this video HERE.

Statement from Dusty, Sergei, Serj and Jimmy from Make Me Famous

We are currently in the middle of our first, and unfortunately the last headline tour as the band Make Me Famous. This will also be our last tour and time playing in the band known as Make Me Famous. As it were, most the members of Make Me Famous were very excited and grateful for this opportunity. We would like to say that we love playing music; love touring and most importantly WE love the fans.

We would like to make a statement on the state of Make Me Famous. We four members were never treated like equal musicians to Denis Shaforostov. According to Denis, he was the only member in the band and he treated the rest of us as unpleasant as humanly possible, it was not fun being in a band with him. It was as if everybody but Denis were hired musicians and were expected to do any and everything that he would tell to us to do. Denis would also expect to keep a larger portion of any band income, in return he would treat us disrespectfully and give everyone in the band and the bands team an everlasting negative attitude. From those on the inside of the industry, this might not come as much of a surprise.

Denis not only lied to our label and management about who wrote what in the band, but lied to the fans as well. Denis told everyone that he wrote and recorded 99% of the bands music; in actuality all of Make Me Famous had a large portion in the creation of both. The music we made, including production and recording of our album was a collaborative effort involving all members of the band. We were not appreciated for anything by Denis, he would take his front-man position in the band to his advantage. He lied to the bands label and management in order to get paid more on royalties, payouts and even daily band tour allowances. Meanwhile it was us, the rest of the members of Make Me Famous, who did what normal, hardworking touring musicians do (setting up our gear, loading in merch, driving to the shows) as Denis refused to help while doing nothing but making nasty comment after nasty comment such as, "I brought you here, you owe me! You’re nothing without me"!!

After around 10 months of dealing with Denis and the stress that came with him, we approached our team about his behavior and told them how we did not want to continue on without him. As of right now Denis has overstayed his welcome, he has a plane ticket booked home to the Ukraine and is flying back mid-tour. We will finish the tour without Denis, but sadly is not the first show without him as he has missed out on a whole tour previously because he simply did not want to play that tour (due to the fact that he once told the headlining band vocalist over twitter that THEY would be opening for Denis in 6 months).

In summary, Denis has some issues and according to Denis, the fault to his issues is everyone and anyone but himself. This will be the end of our current incarnation, but we promise you the rest of the members, minus Denis will continue on making music and touring under a new forthcoming name. Our industry team continues to back us and we look forward to playing for you in 2013!

Please come out and support our final Make Me Famous shows (dates below). We would surely appreciate the support from our fans, various singers from the support bands will be filling in on Denis' spot and it will surely be a good time to mark the end of something that we all loved and were excited about but was ultimately ruined by one person—Denis Shaforostov

Long Island, New York's Dr. Acula will apparently be disbanding following some final shows (in Canada and Australia) in early-2013. We've been sent statements from both guitarist Bill Graffeo and bass player Oli Miclette.

Bill Graffeo: "After almost 8 years the band named Dr.Acula will be put to rest. Being the only original member that was left, it is very sad for me to actually have to say this. Dr.Acula started off as a joke back in 2005. Over the years we kept our sense of humour and pissed off many people. I have nothing but love and respect for ALMOST everyone that's ever been a part of DA. Especially my brother Kevin who saved this band on many occasions. I had quit the band a little less than a month ago. I had some personal problems of my own holding me back from continuing with DA. Most importantly I could not handle the 'sketchy' things some people would do within the band itself. Casey, Oli and Chris will always be my dearest friends. Thank you to everyone that's ever given DA a listen, wether you liked it or not you were a part of this. Unlike some people, I never forgot the roots of this band and where our success came from."

Oli Miclett: "It's time for us to move on to new stuff. This band wasn't going in a direction that pleased everyone in DA. Some members kept cancelling tours for no valid reasons, without respect for the fans. With the departure of Bill and the cancellation of our European tour, Casey and I decided to part ways with the rest of the band to concentrate on a new band with a good friend of mine, Blake Moore (ex-Demolisher). We will announce the band and release stuff in January 2013."

Formed in 2005, Dr. Acula has released material with Victory Records and Uprising Records.

Blind Witness has given word on their Facebook page about the band's last show ever and their departure....

"Hi everyone,

It is with great sadness that we inform you that the BW ship has sailed to its end. We decided to end this instead of keeping the band as a part time occupation. Over the last few years we’ve had some amazing times touring, but our hearts and souls just weren’t in the band like they once were. After endless discussions, with Max especially, we realized that it was in the best interest of the band to now let it go.

A year ago, Max decided to go back to school to become a teacher; he’s enjoying it a lot, and is devoted to it with his entire body and soul. To keep playing shows and making new music was, along with being back in school, a lot of pressure. As that decision went on, the whole band chemistry began to fade. We all found steady jobs, and actually began enjoying our new lifestyles. Speaking for myself, I can say that I’ve started to develop other passions outside of music, and surprisingly, I am involved and happy in this whole new situation. As time passed, the band became a part-time job, one that was regrettably becoming neglected.

One thing I know for sure is that we’ve promised you a new record, and> > since I don’t want to disappoint any of our fans, we will be releasing a 4 song EP in the near future (real promise here buddies).

The music scene ebbs and flows, and I feel like it was the right time for us to retire. However, we place all of our hopes and beliefs in the new, emerging generation of artists to keep the metal scene alive, during one of the biggest crisis’s the music world has seen in a long time.

Over the last 6 years, we had some of the best times of our lives doing what we loved the most! We’ve played shows around the world and made some amazing friends. 2 weeks ago, reading the breakup letter from our friends in Dead and Divine, I realized a lot of things. One of those was that a band will bring you through all levels of happiness. As one of the only original BW members left, I can testify that starting a band, organizing your own DIY tour, making no money, while living every second with so much passion and devotion, is probably the best part of being in a band. Real fun is when passion is all that matters. Now, it seems like all there is left to it is business. You get to a point where you realize that you aren’t doing it for the right reasons, and that you forgot that initial excitement of starting a band! To shake hands with your first fan, sign your first t-shirt, and start realizing people are showing up to shows to actually see your band playing, to hear your music, because they actually love the songs that you’ve build up with your creativity and passion, THAT is the one irreplaceable feeling that no money or fame could buy.

No words would actually be strong and true enough to express how grateful we are for all the support of every single one of our fans!

I would also like to thank everyone who has played in Blind witness, especially the original line up, which most you, our fans, probably never heard of. They helped more than I can explain. So, P-L, Kevin, Sam, and Max, thanks for the best times of our lives!
Also, thank you to Nick, Miguel, Sonny, Tim, Eric and Jon.
Oli, Frank and Nick, you arrived on late, but you guys still helped to build awesome memories, so thank you all.

Thank you to the one person that got Blind Witness this far, one of the kindest and most devoted people I know, Dave Boucher. Thanks for believing in us since day one.

And again, thank to you guys, our fans, who made us who we are! Without you, none of this would have been possible! You guys are the best!!

With that said, I am pleased to announce that we will do one last tour out West for our fans in western Canada, which we haven’t visited often enough! The tour will run from June 30th to July 16th. Finally, the biggest announcement is for our wonderful fans in the province of Quebec! We will be playing our last show ever in Montreal, on one of the biggest heavy metal festival of the year, tabarnak!
We will be playing one last time, AUGUST 12th, at Parc Jean Drapeau, on the mighty HEAVY MTL festival!!! On the Slipknot day! I could not be happier to be on stage one last time with my all-time favorite band.

Molotov Solution posted the following message on their Facebook page;

"Bad news guys: First off, I want to thank everyone for all or any support given to help us through the years. Secondly, I want to apologize to our friends and fans for canceling our upcoming shows and tours. It has been a great adventure, but unfortunately I have reached a point where I can no longer continue touring full time. A realization I initially made a couple years ago, but tried to push through for the rest of the band and the fans. Future plans for Molotov Solution are still up in the air, as I would not like to see this be the end. Please continue to support our members in their future endeavors. Either way, we will all continue creating music. Thank you for your time and support. We have dropped all upcoming tours and shows as a result. Nick."

A Static Lullaby is no more. Dan Arnold has released the following statement:

“I’d like to thank everyone who supported the band for the past 11 years, i’ts been an amazing ride. It’s very bittersweet to say that A Static Lullaby will not be making a new record, we are comfortable with what we have done with our music and have decided that “if it aint broke don’t fix it”. DON’T FRET THOUGH, i’m sure there will be plenty of music to listen to from most of the members. California metallers The Human Abstract have broken up and bassist Henry Selva sheds some light on what him and the other members are currently up too.

“Fuck. How can I put this?

It was hard enough answering fan question while I was working for Protest the Hero. Folks, we are not looking for a new vocalist. We are not touring anytime soon. I think it’s only fair you guys know that we’re on “break or hiatus if you will.” I don’t know why we haven’t said anything. I guess it’s because there is always that “maybe if something happens, etc..etc…” Or maybe it’s hard for us to realize the reality of our situation, the bands situation, to finally let go. I’ll be honest when I say the folllowing: Periphery and Never Say Die were our last tours together as a band.

It was amazing experience while it lasted. Dean is going back to USC to further his education. AJ, as you know will always continue writing and teaching. Brett, I am sure has something up his sleeve.

Thank you to everyone who came out to show their love for the band and the music. I’m proud to say that I got to perform and record along side such amazing musicians.

Amely have announced that they have broke up.

"Dear friends, family, and dearest fans,

We regret the news that many of you have feared, but the time has come where Amely is no more.

This decision did not come lightly and was the effect of a great
number of things that seemed beyond our control. It has been a more
than amazing journey with our best friends and this destination we've
now reached is not an end, it is a new beginning. Although we have
been extremely discouraged by the discourse that fell upon us, we have
not let it knock us down and we hope that you can stay strong with all
of us.
Since the start of this year and even before that we have been
writing for what we intended to be our first full-length album. As the
chance to professionally produce our music appeared to grow further in
distance we took it upon ourselves to record the songs that we had
poured our hearts into. After combining the diverse and plenty skills
of all 4 of us, these home recordings are all that's left of Amely. We
believe this is some of our greatest work and we want to be able to
share it with you. Though it may come as a parting gift, we hope this
collection of songs finds you well. It may be the remains of Amely,
but we hope it reminds you, this is not the end.

After forming in 2003 The Academy Is... have decided to part ways and move on to other projects. The band's Facebook goes into detail about this ordeal;

After nine years and three albums, The Academy Is… have decided to go our separate ways.
We began in 2003 as three young friends in the suburbs of Chicago, with dreams of creating music that meant something to us. Dreams of leaving those suburbs behind and seeing all of the beautiful things that this world has to offer. Dreams of making a difference in the lives of others.

It is now 2011 and we look back at the records we've made, the shows we've played, the places we've been.
The people we've met.

The Academy Is… has made its mark.

We celebrate the experiences of our past, as we welcome what lies ahead.
While we have never managed to make things easy on ourselves, it is safe to say that we have always found common ground in our love of music. And though we may not be together, you can look forward to hearing new music from each of us. The music we have made together is our gift to you. Guitarist Noah Carpenter announces the band's departure via their MySpace Blog it reads as follows;

We know that many of our fans are restless and wondering what is happening with Skinless, and for the last few years we haven't even known either. I'm not going to go into a deep, detailed description of what has transpired since the "Trample" album, but we were plagued with lineup issues once again. The frustration of 1 step forward and 2 steps back forced me to just put the band on hiatus and try to recharge the batteries for a while.

In June 2010 we reunited the old lineup(from the first 2 cds) for a show in New York, and I had anticipated that we'd end up writing a new album in that formation. When the time came for serious discussions about moving forward with the album a couple of the guys told me they didn't have the 'fire' and/or time to dedicate to the project. For several months afterwards I continued to work on new material and jammed with potential new band members. But, much like the other guys, I concluded that I didn't have the 'fire' either, and my inspiration was more directed towards my other band Armor Column.

This certainly isn't an easy thing for me to do, as I have dedicated my entire adult life thus far to Skinless. We all have shifting priorities throughout life, and we feel that Skinless has run its course. To continue at this point would be forced and uninspired. Skinless has always been about energy and intensity, and doing anything half-heartedly wouldn't be true to what the band stands for.

Members of Skinless will continue on in the music world. Joe plays in the killer band Streetsweeper and Sherwood works as a production manager in Colorado. Bob Beaulac has a new band ready to destroy Albany, NY very soon. I hope that many of you will check out my other band Armor Column. It's not brutal death but those into thrash and heavy powermetal can rock out. Some say it's a mixture of Helstar and Exodus.
