SKINLESS Releases New Song "Serpenticide"
SKINLESS is pleased to officially unleash the gut-wrenching sounds of opening psalm, "Serpenticide" for public inebriation. SKINLESS To Release First New Full-Length In Over Eight Years, Album Details Revealed
Reunited New York death metal legion, SKINLESS, will defile the ears of the living this June with their first new studio offering in nearly a decade. Titled Only The Ruthless Remain, and featuring their classic late '90s lineup, SKINLESS returns stronger and more vicious than ever before with a prime slab of truly brutal death metal. Recorded by Tom Case at Edie Road Studio and Doomsday Bunker Studio, both in upstate New York, with vocals tracked by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man etc.) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Integrity etc.) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon, Only The Ruthless Remain boasts seven tracks of SKINLESS' signature fusion of punishing, concussively heavy grooves and surgically precise, blasting severity. Only The Ruthless Remain is poised to stand among the most sadistic yet addictive death metal offerings of the year. Comments the band, "Stockpile your beers, gather your minions, it's time to get RUTHLESS."
SKINLESS was forged in 1992 by guitarist Noah Carpenter with one goal: to be the heaviest band in creation. Following a variety of personnel changes and two demos, SKINLESS established a solid, dedicated lineup from 1997-2001 in the form of Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac. This version of the band would later become known as the "classic" lineup.
In 1998, SKINLESS released their now legendary Progression Towards Evil debut full-length,which stunned the underground, showcasing the visceral energy the band had become notorious for live. An independent release, Progression Towards Evil received frenzied acclaim from media outlets globally. A union with Relapse Records ensued and three more bludgeoning platters were served from 2001-2006 with Foreshadowing Our Demise, From Sacrifice To Survival, and Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead. Despite various lineup shifts, the band remained as brutal and busy as ever, touring the globe with the likes of Slayer, Pantera, Slipknot, Exodus, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Suffocation, Immolation, Misery Index, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Entombed and so many others consequently spawning an ever expanding horde of devout metal enthusiasts.
Following a seven-year slumber, SKINLESS returned to action with their "classic" formation in 2013 and have since added second guitarist, Dave Matthews (not that Dave Matthews) to the ranks. Only The Ruthless Remain includes artwork by Ken Sarafin and will be unleashed on CD, LP and digitally via Relapse Records on June 2nd, 2015 in North America (June 1st in the UK/EU and May 29th in DE/Benelux/Finland). SKINLESS Re-Signs With RELAPSE RECORDS
Relapse Records has announced the official re-signing of recently reunited New York death metal legends SKINLESS.
Formed in 1992 in Albany, New York, SKINLESS has released four full-length albums and numerous EPs throughout its 20-plus-year career. After disbanding in 2011, the group is now back together with the classic "Progression Towards Evil" lineup (Sherwood Webber on vocals, Noah Carpenter on guitar, Joe Keyser on bass, Bob Beaulac on drums) plus the recent addition of Dave Matthews on second guitar.
SKINLESS will begin writing the long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead" for a late 2014 release. In the meantime, fans can catch SKINLESS at the inaugural Denver Black Sky Fest. Founded by SKINLESS vocalist Sherwood Webber, Denver Black Sky will be held on December 14. Following their imminent devastation of Denver, SKINLESS will punish upstate New York with two already sold-out shows at the Upstate Concert Hall. Additional dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

SKINLESS REUNITES
New York death metal veterans SKINLESS have reformed after a two-year hiatus to headline the third day of Delaware Deathfest this October alongside DEICIDE, SUFFOCATION, BROKEN HOPE, BRUTALITY, DYING FETUS, EXHUMED and many more. The second annual Delaware Deathfest takes place October 4-6 in Wilmington at Mojo 13.
Commented vocalist Sherwood Webber: "We're back. The classic SKINLESS lineup has always had an undeniable live chemistry and it's time to unleash the beast again. We're all old buddies and if we have the opportunity to destroy some stages around the world again, it feels right…. who knows what's next?!? In keeping with the old SKINLESS credo of not giving a fuck… we're back to destroy…. we can't let EXHUMED have ALL the fun!
"Also… if you ever told me that we'd be playing with BRUTALITY when I was 15 years old listening to the 'Screams Of Anguish' tape in Noah’s Camaro, I would never have believed it. This is awesome!!!!"
Added guitarist Noah Carpenter: "This is the lineup that put SKINLESS on the metal map, so it's great to be back. We won't be the road dogs of the past, but we'll be playing some select festivals and drinking all their beer. So sit back, slip on your absorbent undergarments, and let the mayhem begin… again!!!"
Skinless Breaks Up
Guitarist Noah Carpenter announces the band's departure via their MySpace Blog it reads as follows;
We know that many of our fans are restless and wondering what is happening with Skinless, and for the last few years we haven't even known either. I'm not going to go into a deep, detailed description of what has transpired since the "Trample" album, but we were plagued with lineup issues once again. The frustration of 1 step forward and 2 steps back forced me to just put the band on hiatus and try to recharge the batteries for a while.
In June 2010 we reunited the old lineup(from the first 2 cds) for a show in New York, and I had anticipated that we'd end up writing a new album in that formation. When the time came for serious discussions about moving forward with the album a couple of the guys told me they didn't have the 'fire' and/or time to dedicate to the project. For several months afterwards I continued to work on new material and jammed with potential new band members. But, much like the other guys, I concluded that I didn't have the 'fire' either, and my inspiration was more directed towards my other band Armor Column.
This certainly isn't an easy thing for me to do, as I have dedicated my entire adult life thus far to Skinless. We all have shifting priorities throughout life, and we feel that Skinless has run its course. To continue at this point would be forced and uninspired. Skinless has always been about energy and intensity, and doing anything half-heartedly wouldn't be true to what the band stands for.
Members of Skinless will continue on in the music world. Joe plays in the killer band Streetsweeper and Sherwood works as a production manager in Colorado. Bob Beaulac has a new band ready to destroy Albany, NY very soon. I hope that many of you will check out my other band Armor Column. It's not brutal death but those into thrash and heavy powermetal can rock out. Some say it's a mixture of Helstar and Exodus.
